  1. I heard through the grape-vine that several parents have already contacted Coach Perry about their son coming to MJ. The team is loading up on more talent from McGavok and Wildcat nation I hear. Young boys wanting to become men (winners).
  2. Who are the leaders for the district and what is coming back for each team?
  3. Might want to get ready for the Smoke Stack I. Offense will look much like Oaklands. Great hire.
  4. I really do not see Coach Perry going any where. He has established a good program at Mj. The only reason I believe he would leave is because of the Wilson county BS. Why are the athletes not working out during the school? When he retires or leaves, I see Friendship being a power house because the county schools will not be able to compete with brains. As far as the Wilson Central job, has any big names applied (I didn't think so)? I wish them well until they play Mj.
  5. Sort of agreeing with LOD on this one, I can't blame a coach for improving his families quality of life. I hope Perry stays with Mj and brings us a state championship soon, I just don't see him applying for a job because he has great facilities here and good kids to work with. I also agree a $8000 pay raise and actually having his athletes during the school day is a huge benefit. I had talked earlier in the season with a church member whose son plays at Watertown High School and she said they worked out/meet at 6:15 am in the morning, went through a regular school day, and then practiced until 6pm after school. That is a 12 hour day for these kids. I know they work harder than the board members who only put in a few hours a week. Heck, I would want some family time at some point. The coaches also work B-team games, varsity games, and some work freshmen games. They meet on weekends so they could better prepare for their next game. I think we should actually give them a raise, $25.00 maybe.
  6. I don't think Perry applied, seriously folks! As far as the wing-T, 35 point avg. (before the Oakland remark--they actually have a good defense and MJ still ran/pass down their throat). Heard Traye Aric is looking for a job. Ask Wilson Central what they think about the Tony Franklin system--MUST HAVE A QB AND BALLERS
  7. We had a good game against the COBRAS back in week 3! It was a nail biter for sure. I'll be pulling for them because of #1 and their coach. When we beat them, #1 took like a man and congradulated the bear players unlike some of his team mates. The coach for the COBRAS seem to be a stand up guy too. Hope you guys win state, you sure do have a good team. Work hard and win!
  8. If you had beaten Beech like you should have then we would not be having this conversation anyway. Like you said, if you have taken care of business in your district you wouldn't be number 3. Much over-rated I would say. Good luck, yell right!
  9. So, you guys are admitting you can't defend the pass. Let's not forget #5 getting some nice little runs on you (50 yards on one) and a few others. Earnhart had some nice runs too. That PF as you call it (on that 50 yard run), anytime runningback steps out of bounds and begins to slow down--then wack--ITS A PENALITY Idiots. It has been called on us a few times. You guys being THIRD and us being SECOND (all overtime loses) doesn't matter a bit. Even if we placed second in the quad, we would have faced yall. That is what the TSSAA wanted (money maker). You have a good team, but your not among the greats. Sorry to bust your bubble fella's.
  10. What a game. The crowd got their money's worth (I hope the TSSAAA is satisfied). MJ, what a great season. Keep your heads up--you done a great job. Oakland, if you're the best in the state, then football in Tennessee ain't a hoot. MJ drove it on you pretty good for yall to be world beaters from Rutherford county. Maybe that is why yall finished third in the district. MJ had some very questionable calls (What refs again) and two key drops in the endzone. Remember this, your defense was pathetic at best. Couldn't stop run or pass. Go Riverdale and the Williamson county schools (TSSAA helping boys).
  11. Why do you guys keep putting MJ going west? My understanding districts 1-8 will go east and districts 9-16 will go west. If either side has an opening, then wild cards will be placed in those slots. Funny, but tht is what we are getting. Last, why is Oakland a 8th seed? The worst team in the Quad is coffee co. If there is going to be seeds (then seed them correctly).
  12. Why would MJ and Lebanon be going east instead of west? I see MJ going west, but lebanon and Indy could go either way based on wildcard senario's. If MJ ends the season 10-0, they should be a 1 seed in their POD. Also, does that quarentee them home-field through the first 3 rounds.
  13. I agree You take away MJ's ints inside the red zone and their up even more 35-6. Sounds to me that MJ killed themselves. They only punted once while McGAvock punted several times. Both are going to be in the playoffs, who knows, they might meet again.
  14. Oakland Brentwood Riverdale Blackman Siegel LaVergne Maryville Farragut Shelbyville Whitehouse Bradley Central Page
  15. If you go by the score, yes it was a close game. But if memory serves me right, Mj really dominated the game, but couldn't punch it in many times due to penalities and turnovers in the red-zone. It really was one sided. I would anticipate a good game between these two schools. Since no one has really seen both of these teams play, it only leads to the imagination of what could be. I've seen Mj play and their defense is really good. They have only been scored on once and that was a 60 yard reverse the field TD. Good luck to both teams and let the games begin
  16. MJ dropped about 12 passes Come on fella's are you scared
