To be honest with you, I’m not a big fan of Boone or Volunteer at this point and I saw where Crocket could have a couple of studs in the backfield this year…really don’t know. Like I said … this was my “emotional” picks. I gave South props because I doubted them every year and they spanked us each and every time … you gotta give it up to them. Of course DB spanked us even worse (EVERY year), but I saw the chance to throw them under the bus for once even thought I realize they’re not going to stay there . SH has Ryan Mitchell who is going to cause trouble for everybody. I did notice that Coach Smith has him listed as CB on defense … but IMO if he isn’t used in the back field and as the number one return man, Smith is more of a buffoon than I’ve pegged him to be. Central … well … Central is out of their league to be honest with you. And that pretty much sums it up until after week 1. You must have good aim because they have an awful lot of short buses down on the reservation.

I think the offense will be great once they get a few games under their belts. I'm not really sure about the defense. I'm assuming that Rutherford will now take over the kicking duties this year? He as well as Graham should be valuable assets to this team. Killer avatar dude!!! Does anybody think anybody in the conference overshadows us when it comes to size or talent? Are you asking only TN High fans or all fans in general?

Wow! What a way to totally dismiss everyone else in the District. Do you really think you saw South's best when you scrimmaged them? Betsy better be concentrating a little more on their District games than making reservations for the Clinic Bowl. Finally an intelligent post. Betsy will be good from what I saw at the South scrimmage but to say they are state champs based on a scrimmage is hilarious. South shut them down on the ground and the only thing Betsy could do against the 1st team defense for South was throw Hail Marys and let their taller receivers go up in the air. Playoffs...yes. State title...no.

Comp, sorry for changing the subject, but speaking of Curt, I got word yesterday that he's looking real good in practice and getting the biggest percentage of snaps. Looks like he has a real shot at overtaking returning starter Sherer for the top spot. We might just see #10 under center for the Badgers' opener. If not, I think he'll definitely get some time in this year and be in a really good spot for next year. A kid from South starting as QB for a Divison 1 team? Somebody keep a lookout for Waco on Hammond Bridge!!

I'm sorry but if you actually went to school at South (not just a parent of a kid that played football at South) and you root for DB at anytime, there's something wrong with you. Like Volmanscott said, people need to tell the truth on here instead of being politically correct.

Great post! The only DB games I have ever attended have been against South so all I have ever seen is a ton of fan support from your side but I imagine it's like most other teams and it's hard to get fired up for smaller schools. We'll see you at Death Valley this year and may the best team win.

Be careful though. They say those guys in the WWF use a lot of steroids! Those guys in the World Wildlife Fund have to be pumped up to be able to handle all those big animals.

Well unless South found one from the girl's soccer team this past week, we don't have one either. They were barely skimming the crossbar at the Betsy scrimmage. I did hear that the punter boomed one during the Powell scrimmage. That's unusual for DB not to have a good kicker. Seems like they always had one to boom it into the end zone.
