  1. & i don't disagree, Smith is the real deal
  2. 2 different positions. One is d-line, one is a RB, they can both win
  3. RB from Brentwood High School, I think his name is Coffee. A beast!
  4. could be good game with the speed of burros, but Crawford and Winfree will have a great game plan ready to win and continue the push for a region chip. Good luck Bruins. Middle Tn will dominate East Tn in playoffs this year.
  5. "It will probably be that "all-star" coaching staff that will cause Catholic to lose. I have no support for the Irish until the right people are in office calling the shots. I honestly am discusted with what the administration has done by not allowing Pemberton to do his thing. If the coaching staff that Catholic had last year was still there I see manybe a one loss" LETSGET with those statements you might upset kchs coach. Re: Knoxville Area HIgh School Coaching Staffs New postby KCHSCoach » Wed Oct 14, 2009 9:08 am I am a little biased, but I am around them everyday, Scott Meadows, Lane Corum, and the whole crew, are excellent coaches and more importantly good people and good role models for our kids Good luck to both teams, hope everybody stays 100% healthy, Do any of West or Cath.'s kids have any offers up to this point in the season. Keep hearing about all the talent at both places.
  6. I think if coach Shattuck knew how time was on the clock he would have taken a knee and been happy to get a win 22-12 considering the condition of the field.Get over it you won be happy i honestly like the fact that they put one in at the end there against a powell team i have never had any respect for, as much as andy and his crew are stand up guys and good ppl they all hate powell and so do most of the players, powell has always been the biggest bunch of smacktalkin, cheapshot players ive ever seen and if clinton beat them 80-0 i would only applaud. Powell should be one of the top 2 programs in knox county year in and year out, but they underachieve every year and never doing anything with the comm. support and talent they have.
  7. You are exactly right tpoole. Great post. I am still tryin to figure out why people are making excuses for Catholic. They were ranked #1 to start the year in the entire Knox. area and for good reason. QB back, 2 RB's back, play-making WR back, 4 out of 5 OL starters back, and 6 soph.'s played on Def. in State Champ. game (5 of which started). This was the perfect year to move up. NO offense to any other teams but Knox. area is down this year and Catholic has not taken advantage. Stop with the out of Gas stuff. Kids are kids and should be able to play both ways. Catholic looks out of shape. GQ and staff balled 2night, Catholic's coaches and adminstration need to look themselves in Mirror. Middle Tn will dominate the playoffs this year, sorry knox. area. Side note did anybody see how bad Catholic's field looked? Not enough money over there for field work? Time to watch my #1 Oolwateh Owls smoke Rhea county.
  8. eular u should do a little research on the teams from west tn that webb will have to face in the playoffs. the 2 teams that r very good in the west r ecs and usj. Both of these teams have very good talent. A te from ecs has already committed to alabama and their line is even bigger than catholics. The qb at usj is supposed to be very good. 1 thing we do know is that webb has beaten 3 5a schools in knoxville and pretty much dominated clinton in a scrimmage. I'll give u that they should dominate most of their region games this season because most of those schools r not as good as webb this year. They face da and dca at the end of their season. Both of these teams r good and will be very competitive games for webb. It just so happens that webb has a big sr class and some very good skill athletes. They have a chance to win it all this year but they will have to keep their heads right and keep working. Lets be real, webb did what they should have done and stayed in the class the tssaa put them in. They dress less than 50 players and play region games they r supposed to. I'll bet bga is wishing they had stayed where the tssaa had put them. You are exactly right. Memphis is loaded in both Divisons of D2. MUS looks to be favorite in bigger league and DA is still good even though they lost their star RB for year. Don't count them out.
  9. Who is DC? Do Meadows call the plays? Who is AD? Thouht Meadows is AD? I believe a Surlas brother and DC is Lane Corum who's record speaks for itself. Who is principal? Meadows calls all offensive plays from what I have heard. Wonder if Dorian is lovin 14 carries a game? Is Ron Grey still on staff? Sure he is pushing to be hc already if he is. Good luck to the Irish the rest of the year. Does Webb have a chance to win state in their Divison?
  10. LC is terrible and Catholic is mad, Catholic by 24
  11. Rebels win easily and Ravenwood continues its long season. Win by 21
  12. Congrats on Ooltewah's new ranking of #1 and they win by 2 TD's fri. night.
  13. It seems like some people on here are upset with Coach Meadows and it may be correct, but why is nobody talking about who hired him. He didn't hire himself. The principal and AD did and forced the DC on him. They need to look themselves in the mirror. With that being said both sides of the ball look out of wack, out of shape, and confused. Great game by Webb, they played hard and I still think they are one of the better coached teams in the area. Meske doesn't get enough credit.
  14. I agree with AE being more discipline. Catholic will have a hard time scoring vs. the speed of AE on def. and Catholic's defense can't stop a little cold. AE 35-13.
  15. Alcoa gets over hump this year and beats Maryville on route to 15-0 record.
  16. Look for a big year from Ooltewah. They have a great HC in Monroe and great DC in Green. Look forward to seeing them fly around on D.
  17. Catholic showed no class huh? I'm to assume you were there next to Coach Meadows or on the Irish sideline, when the players ran to the buses. So why did all of the players show up for practice AFTER the jamboree then if they were showing no class? Did it occur to you that he may have screamed at them to get on the bus? Probably not. The Irish are going through growing pains but they'll get it. I like how other teams can make excuses for losing scrimmages b/c a players hurt or out, but if the Irish have multiple starters out they're making up an excuse. Think what you will, but after all, who cares if you win a jamboree game which is a glorified scrimmage. BTW Coach P. did loose scrimmages over the years. Also Catholic did not ask to move to 5A, we were told that we were moving up 2 classifications. The school has 600 students! Since when is loosing a scrimmage 7-0 getting stomped? The move up sucks but it is what it is and actually this is the year to do it if any. Maryville is a little down for what they are used to, Farr. is missing their QB for the first few weeks, Alcoa is not on the scd. and Bearden is not stacked by any means. Catholic has a ton of returning players with state chip experience. 6 soph.'s started in state game and they get a redshirt player back in Z. Tait who anybody would love to have. It does matter if you lose any games no matter if real or scrimmage. Coach P didn't lose any to Halls or Powell or Mo. West who Catholic beat 28-0 last year but lost to in scrimmage this year. And actually Catholic pounded Powell the last 2 years, something like 76-3 and 50 something to 6 last year with only 600 students. AE is fast on D, but need to stop being so easy to scheme on offense. Catholic doesn't have the athletes to run the offense or defense they are running, they should be pounding the rock with the 1,000 pounds of beef they have up front and running a defense with safety/corner support for run. Their DC and Defense is lost. I would blitz Williamson all day and play man, and would challenge small DB's in their cover 3 and run right at them, which AE will do. Webb just needs to get in the way of defenses so the blance brothers can run and find way to beat Davidson Academy out of Nashville who is loaded. Bearden needs to get the ball to D. Young in creative ways and in space and stay healthy. Fulton again needs to find a way to block up front and continue to run to ball on D. Karns job will be open again next year, Hardin Valley will come along and improve throughout the year. Grace coach is doing a good job with what he has.
  18. I agree and would add Webb's head coach to that list. He does a great job
  19. Catholic is already making excuses. Starters out, new system, moving up, too many young players. According to the paper they have 5 D1 guys, and started 6 soph. on def. in state champ. game last year so how are they inexperienced. Maybe the AD can save them. AE is very athletic and look for them to have a big year. If fulton can get any blocking from the line, watch out for their backs, and Young from Breaden is the real deal. He would be hard to tackle in a phone booth. Webb is back in the divison they belong and will compete for state title.
  20. Catholic started out season getting beat in almost all their scrimmages too. Coach P in the last 4 years never lost a scrimmage to a 5A opp. He went against Halls, Powell, West every year preseason and smashed them. When the adminstration starts running off the good coaches, this is the type of stuff you see, like you did last night
