  1. Sullivan South Fans show support for Knoxville West High School Friday night showing up in numbers at Knoxville West game on Souths Bye Week. Its a couple of videos down now so you will have to hunt for it. I wish West could have pulled it out. Close Game. They lost 14-13 to Fulton. http://www.wbir.com/video/default.aspx
  2. Daniel Boone beat DB at DB I think in 1985. Maybe was even DB homecoming game. That was one of the few years DB had a losing season and went 4-6. They came back in 1986 and 87 and went 11-1 each year. I think those 2 years was when Faulkerson was there?
  3. WOW what a game tonight as South pulls it out in Overtime 35-28. Everyone in the conference better take notice! Daniel Boone has a tough Defense and over all a very young but great football team. Congrats to the Daniel Boone team you all played one heck of a football game. Big thanks to Fans at Daniel Boone as always a class act and 54 at Midfield is a classy touch. Goodluck to the Blazers! I can see them being in fight for the conference championship and playoff birth this year. Thats for sure.
  4. Its hard to beat South Stadium other than not having much parking on Visitors side so it forces people to walk around the track. The field and seating have always been the best but I could be bias lol Stone Castle is unique but I remember playing on the field and didnt much care for it at all with that crown and seems like their is kind whole at one part of the field that sinks down. Knoxville West had a nice facility but it was overflow crowd on Visitors side of bleachers. Sullivan North has a nice stadium with great lighting and seating on both sides. I agree with you Rebel DB could have one of the best in region if it wasnt for the horrible seating arrangements especially for visitors. I have to admit the worst one I have ever been to is up in Cloudland several years ago in their hay day. What few bleachers they had at the time were on one side and concrete was cracked and coming apart in certain areas and the lighting on field wasnt much.
  5. Boone and South is usually always a hard fought clean game. I expect nothing less this year. That Playoff game at South a few years back was a great game. Its usually a battle in the trenches with these two teams and Boone has a good stable of running backs again it looks like. I know they played both QBs in Jamboree are they still playing both in games? I am not sure that Boone has the depth they have had in years past and South has a lot of players that get playing time. I think that might hurt Boone in 2nd half and South will be able to wear them down and take the win. I will throw out South 28-14 but the Trailblazers could pull a upset if the Rebels aren't careful. Boone always has great fan support along with South so I expect it to be another Great Crowd at Boone Friday Night. I am looking forward to the game. Go Rebels!
  6. Here is a article today in Kingsport Times news with comments from Jake's parents. http://www.timesnews.net/article.php?id=9016390 Jake Logue's parents statement to the public and media Jake Logue's parents did not want to talk to the media, but they issued the following statement before Wednesday night's services. _________ Our apologies up front for some of the corny clichés and concepts contained in this message of thanks, but this is the way it poured out of our hearts. First of all, we have been amazed, comforted and uplifted by the outpouring of support in this time of sorrow. You really don’t realize the value and breadth of relationships built over the years until such an event. We have simply been awed by friends and family from all eras of our life who have reached out to us over the last several days. The entire community has been unbelievable in their private and public support, from signs and symbols displayed in numerous ways, to dedicated services, personal witness and prayers in churches that we didn’t even know about. We were not quite ready to participate, but the Saturday candlelight service at South was awesome. And the prayer vigil at West High School was just unbelievable. Again, while we didn’t participate, we did get to meet a few of the West High football team, including Dylan Baylosis who came up with the idea and helped organize the event. They actually came to our house with many of Jake’s teammates on Sunday night to express their personal condolences. We want to personally thank the West High players, coaches and community for all of their support and prayers. As to the South High students, community and all those we consider our extended family; we cannot thank you enough for your heartfelt sympathy, acts of kindness and prayers. We must offer a special thank you to our fellow Pigskin Parents and Tree House Gang parents, and our Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church family...you are a Godsend. Finally, we haven’t had the strength yet to read many of the words of encouragement and support on the internet, including Facebook, MySpace, blogs, and many of the other communication vehicles we don’t fully understand, but from what we have seen and heard it is enough to simply be overwhelmed. Now a little bit about Jake. He was by no means perfect. He was human in every way, with all the faults that come with that. But he was special as a son, a brother, a grandson, a friend and a teammate; He was even pretty special as a competitor. We can tell you for sure that he so appreciates the support from all sources provided to his family and friends. And if we know Jake, if it were one of his friends, teammates, or competitors instead of him, he would have been right in the middle of organizing the support system himself. Jake was a leader in many ways, but he also knew how, and when to follow. Jake strongly believed, and even preached that the measure of a man, or woman, had nothing to do with race, religion, gender, political party, or any other label we tend to put on others. Jake believed that character, heart and soul are what matters, period. Jake was a story-teller extraordinaire. Over the last several days, we have heard many of those stories repeated by his friends. Some of the stories we had heard many times, some we had never heard, and we’re sure some we have yet to hear. Jake could poke fun at pretty much anyone, but always in a way that showed respect. He could give as well as he could take, and he was often the target of his own wit. He could simply make you laugh out loud and enjoy life. Jake held his coaches in high regard. While he was known to do an occasional impression of some of his coaches, including the famous “Carter look”, it was always truly a sign of respect and love. He actually wanted to be a teacher and coach. On his MySpace profile, in the field for Occupation, he simply stated “Stacy Carter”. In answer to the question “Who I’d like to meet”, he responded “Anyone who wants to meet me”. That pretty much describes Jake. This is not a time to find fault, or look for someone to blame, so please don’t go there in your heart or your head. Somehow, this is a part of a plan we don’t understand, and won’t ever understand from our perspective on earth. Perhaps one purpose for something like this is to remind us all that, while we will one day go to a better place, and surely see Jake again, it is important for us to understand just how much we need to cherish the time we have together in this life, today and every day. And maybe a powerful, if sometimes painful memory of a person like Jake will serve as a reminder of the kind of person we should each strive to be. It is hard to comprehend why we deserve to lose someone so cherished as Jake. But it is just as hard to understand why we were so blessed to have a kid like Jake for 18 years; and we continue to be blessed to have a kid like his brother Alex; and the love of a wonderful spouse and parents, much less the extended family, and wonderful friends and coworkers with which God has graced us. Finally, while it will be painful over the next several steps of the grieving process, you know Jake wants us to go on, live life to the fullest and love and respect each other. One thing that will personally help us get through this pain is the memory of Jake, his great strength, his unwavering faith, and his perseverance in the face of adversity. We picture Jake holding up 4 fingers, signifying that it is time to play with all our strength through the 4th quarter. These strong memories of Jake, the support and love from those around us, and our own faith in our Lord will get us through this together. As your mother told you many, many times, Jakie Jake, we love you to infinity and beyond.
  7. I was at the game last night and that was the most tragic incident I have ever witnessed and I hope I never do again. My heart goes out to the Family and Friends of Jake. I also want to thank Knoxville West fans, players and coaches. There was a lot of tears being shed in stands and down on the field. To see all the players and coaches run across the field as the South players started to kneel down and have a group prayer and console each other says alot. First Class all the way. Everyones Thoughts and Prayers are with the family and whole Colonial Heights community over such a tragic loss. Also, KINGSPORT - A candlelight vigil is planned for this evening to honor the memory of Sullivan South High School football player Jake Logue. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 at Sullivan South's Carl Matherly Stadium. Logue, a senior defensive lineman and team co-captain, died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Friday night after collapsing on the field during the Rebels' season opener with Knox West High School.

  9. SAME BS WORTHLESS CRAP FROM SAME PEOPLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Why bother coming in hear anymore. Its waste of time.
  10. SAME BS CRAP everytime someone opens a thread to talk about actual football. I get sick of seeing it. Its the same crap and insults over and over again on a football board. Do you all not have anything better to do!? Geez Lets all be glad football gets started this week. Both South and DB have hard road games on week zero. Some great matchups for several teams on the opening week. I just hope the weather will be better by Friday it looks like we will have some mud bowls in the area. A few games start Thursday night. I saw on the Knoxville Website they are Televising Thursday night games Live during the regular season starting with Gatlinburg Pittman game tomorrow night. I wished we could pick up those games here in Kingsport. Will they be TV Taping games on the Charter Channel again this year? Having the coaches shows for South and DB again?

  12. I think it will be a good game. It looks like it may be a battle in the trenches with both teams having good OL and DL. I am worried a little bit about South's secondary because they have been burned deep a few times in scrimmages but their run defense is solid and have some of the best Linebackers in East Tennessee. South will have to bring their A game to West they might have some struggles running the ball early at strong defensive front but their passing game has looked really good so far in preseason. West has a senior defensive lineman Austin Sowell (6-5, 235) with a 40-yard dash time of 4.77 that's being recruited by a lot of schools. The also have another lineman Isaac Mobley (6-1, 334) that they say can bench 300lbs and squat 600lbs and 2 solid Linebackers Preston Williams (6-3, 200) and Sam Purkey (6-2, 200). West also has all 5 of their starting Offensive Line back this year. What they do say is that West does not have a lot of depth right now. I have never been to Knox West myself but I plan on going down to watch the game. The weather forecast the next several days looks like we will get a lot of rain so I wonder how the field conditions will be? I Say South 28 West 24 in a hard fought game.
