I heard a copy of DVD was sent to tssaa and they sent back a letter saying they found 4 more personal fouls that were not called ( 2 on extra points where the end went for the holder and made no attempt to block the pat. Got a copy of DVD if you need to look at it again but doubt you have the stomac for it) LOL. Glad to see the chargers got it together throughout the season not counting Alcoa. Looks like somebody is jealous of the valley teams. Cumberland Co over that's right they are playing basketball. Polk over Alcoa. Thanks for the love but the cats play best in the underdog role so keep calling us overrated. Alcoa 49 McMinn Central 7, Polk 49 Central 12 it could be a good game. Polk beat Bledsoe bad last year but Bledsoe has made great strides this year (congrads) but I still think Polk and Loudon are very comparable and think Loudon has the best chance for round 1 upset.

I have always respected SC. The way they play physical but clean. Their facilties are first rate and stadium is beautiful. Chargers need this one bad to keep credibility. Our district is so weak its hard to get any respect (just a fact). Soooo, let me take a big gulp and say GO BIG BLUE.

As a Polk fan after scrimaging Loudon pre season to a 2 td to 2 tie with the first units in a short game and similar showings against 6A Bradley Central ( both wins by one TD) I think Loudon should definately be in top 10 considering the district they play in. By the way, is anyone going to give PC any credit for going to South Pittsburg and beating the then #1 ranked 1A Pirates? I know South Pitt lost to highly ranked 2A Boyd Buc at Boyd in the rain without starting QB Terrel Robinson but this game was at SoPitt on a dry track with TRob. 27-0 at the half. Final was 34-28 and Polk had 2 tds called back in the second half and drives resulted in no points. Also Polk beat McMinn Central 49-12, Alcoa beat Central 49-7. I saw the game and see why Alcoa is ranked #1 and well deserved. I quess all we can do is try to keep winning and see how far we can get.

Let me try for the third time to get a post on here and if a previous one comes up sorry. There was a reason for SP's success in the second half. When your up 27 at the half you drop back and keep everything in front of you to prevent quick scores. You didnt see Polk give up any 80 yrd bombs did you (even with our slow slugs)? If not for the untimely fumble and a short field for a quick score the game would not have gotten that close. To PCs credit they came right back and scored on the next drive to put the daggar in. Two TDs called back in the second half, hummmmm? Clock problems, hummmmm? Before you start circling calenders for next years game you might want to realize most of the team you saw last night will be back next year and T-Rob will not. He was much better that I thought going into the game and wish him well. Credit to SP for turning some short passes into good gains after the catch and T-Rob for taking some licks and breaking some tackles that most people do not get away from. After 26 pages of trash talk all week did you not think you would hear about it? Dont dish it out if you cant take it!!! And please, dont start on the Alcoa folks. I saw them play thursday night and trust me YOU DO NOT WANT ANY OF THEM!!!! You have a better QB IMO but they are better than you at every other position on the field no joke. THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL. There is a reason they are ranked #1 and probably could be in higher classifications too. Good luck and I hope you get another gold ball.

As a Polk Co. fan I have no problem with BCsprotsfan or govolsknox's version of the 3A poll. Polk deserves to be in the top ten but I can see why a top 5 ranking seems a bit high due to past playoff losses to teams like Goodpasture, White House, and Station Camp the last few years. My problem comes with Sonny Moore putting McMinn Central with 2 losses and one of those to Polk 49-12 in his without Polk being ranked. Duh?? McMinn Central may be a top ten team as they have improved throughout the year not counting a poor performance against Sequoyah. I think Polk and Loudon are very comparable due to a tie in preseason scrimage and similar results against 6A Bradley on Bradley's field ( both wins) so if Polk is a top ten then Loudon should be there too. Polk has played some very poor competition mostly in district (exception McMinn Central) can't help that. Big game coming up against South Pitt who was #1 in 1A until loss in rain without starting QB to #2 2A Boyd Buc last week. So. Pitt at home should be the favorite in that game. They killed #3 2a Signal Mtn earlier this year. We will know more then but I will say this is the best Polk team since the 1979 state semifinal team that lost to eventual State Champion Alcoa. Just my opinion. I have much respect for middle TN and Knoxville area team. Districts overall are more competitive but we cant help where we are.

Good assesment Doc. It's always flattering to be ranked but rankings dont really mean much come playoff time. Polk had probably their best performance last year playing a 2 seed on the road to a 7 point loss at Station Camp but it was one and done again with a young team. I can see why people dont think the ranking is deserved but the cats seem to play their hardest when someone puts a big ole chip on their shoulders (Bradley, McMinn Central). We always seem to give great effort when the underdog. High rankings can be a blessing or a curse. The target is on your back. We will know a lot more come So Pitt time because they are legit and prove it time and time agian. Proud of the cats no matter where their ranked or ranked at all. GO BIG RED!

findthetruth the truth is not in you. You claimed to be a PC fan but your bitter black and gold colors are shining through. I never claimed PC would win a state title nor has any other PC fan on any other post this season although this is the 30th anniversary of the 79' teams state semi-final run which is as close as we ever got losing a close one to eventual state champs Alcoa. Way to go alwaysright for stepping up and giving another team some credit. Much more respect for you now. Sorry to the Loudon folks for turning your thread into a Bradley hates Polk forum. Might Polk and Loudon possibly see each other in the post season? I guess we both will be class 3A at playoff time with the new system (we usually get a Nashville team). From the scrimmage tie and the similar results vs BC looks like that would be a pretty darn good game. Good luck the rest of the way.

Well, Bradley and McMinn Central both beat Cleveland and Polk beat both of them. Hummm. Just a thought. WV did gash us for nearly 400 yards tonight so I think coach Davis will have a few things to work on this week even though he took the blame for not having us better prepared. Great job O-line again. Backs run hard again, 22's returns were huge, big hits early by the D set a tone, no big mistakes, QB play A+, great catch by 38. Plenty of pats on the back to go around. Keep it up guys cause you've got a shot to do something special if you don't let up and keep working together. GO BIG RED!!!

Polk took the Bears down in first game of the season at Bradley 20-13. Bears hit us for 92 yard TD on their first offensive play by the dangerous sophmore speed guy, then scored on their next series to go up 13-0 in the first. Polk just kept pounding at there big linemen and wore them down on the ground and scored 14 before the half. Second half was keep away and run clock on the ground. Pretty sure Bradley only had 3 drives with positive yardage in the game 1st, 2nd, and 1st drive of second half. They have settled on the freshman QB who is good and have been successfull since opening loss but competition questionable. Should be a good game. Is your quarterback's hand healed up? He was a warrior agianst us in the preseason game. Your size matches up well. May come down to conditioning. Might want to check out the thread on the AAA section.

There ya go again. Try to share a little info with the neighbors and get dissed! How do you have a let down in the opener at home ALWAYSWRONG? You confuse letdown with beatdown look at the stats. Bradley was beaten in every phase of the game and if not for a 92 yard run on the first play it really looks bad. Can you not just say we got beaten by a very good "TEAM" (undefeated ranked #3 in 2A) no shame in that, it has only made you better. Some teams would have stayed on the mat. You do realize most of the starter are sophs and juniors. Just keep motivating us. If i remember Bradley has a lot of guys going both ways too. I guess I should consider the source though. You are right about one thing Loudon is a lot like Polk only with more size. OOPS.

Polk and Loudon scrimaged pre-season with varsity playing to a 2 score each tie. Loudon is very good and has size. Their quarterback was playing with a cast on non throwing hand and was doing it very well. DO NOT overlook these guys. They will hit! Don't expect them to be one dimensional. Would not advise students to wear any head dresses or war paint. Good luck.

Gotta love Polk Co. defense, really love the way the offensive line has played but starters have only played about 3 1/2 of the last 8 quarters. Looks like rain much of the week for practice and WV has more than a couple of speed guys and a good QB. I just wish we had worked on the passing game a little more against the last two teams when we knew the game was not going to be in doubt. Hope the backs keep running hard and O-line continues their good work. Old linemen like to see that surge on the snap. Go big red!

Good luck MC. Love to see the small town guys take down the big boys(or so they like to think). Saw them in the jamboree in chatt town and the qb is good and they do have a couple of speedy guys but line did not look huge. If you can get your playmakers to participate and block when the play is not to them you will do much better. Play together!

I appreciate your honesty and guts smokinote. Pretty well said. The schedule thing works both ways. I think both teams will learn a lot more about themselves this year. Dont know how we keep getting ranked so high after the lack of success in the playoffs the past few years by east TN teams. I think all of us on this side of Mont Eagle Mtn need to prove some things come playoff time including upper classification teams in Chattanooga before we claim to be world beaters. Not afraid to give it a try come November though.

First every post but I can't take it anymore. Stop the excuses! Coach L Davis use to say that when you point your finger at someone else you have three on the same hand pointing back at you(try it you'll see its true!). I also have watched the film and found every call although some were hard to detect if you don't know what your looking for( linemen raising and lowering hands after coming set to draw the defense off). Most very obvious- horsecollar, very late hits. Bottom line Central's very talented QB(that you stole from Meigs) was running for his life all night and did not have time to throw hence 8-19. Also Polk's O-lines outstanding job handling MCs stud defenders. That is the bottom line. You should have seen this coming. The JV games the last 2 years have been blowouts too the only X-factor was #15 wasnt in them. The sad fact is that the previous coach sold his soul to athletes with questionable character and fostered a thug mentallity to build confidence and parlayed it into a good record then bolted for greener pastures. Before you start making excuses for him about the wife not getting a job in the same system doesnt your current coach's wife work there and the asst. principal is in admistrative position at same school that her husband is coach? Hope you give current coach a chance since everyone says he and his family are good people with good character( he probably regrets throwing the headset now). At least he is the only one with enough guts to say the loss was on him when paper and radio goofs want to put it on the refs( home cooking please, you have your local boy always calling baseball games)! Charlie Murphy is a genius. He has been spot on on every post I've read this year.
