  1. Let's not kid ourselves, the only team in our district that had a chance to beat Beech, did, and got extremely lucky in doing so. They should be the runaway favorite next year with MJ, Gallatin, and Hville following...in that order. An interesting topic to follow is who will get the Mr.Football nomination from that team, 5, 21, or 10? I would bet 5 because he plays both sides of the ball including punting and returning kicks.
  2. No, no one here hates Portland...we ALL LOVE having Portland in this district.
  3. Other than Murfreesboro schools beating up on each other and apparently WS, 6A was definately down this year. From what I could tell from all 6 title games, overall talent/coaching/scheming/gameplay I would rank it 4a, 5a, 3a, 6a, 2a, 1a. Maryville was absolutely overmatched as it took some lucky quick scores and a few dumb WS mistakes for them to even get the deficit to 10. And from what I could tell from watching all of the Rutherford schools, Mville was be the underdog there as well. If they were in the district with Oakland, Blackman, Riverdale, etc., they would struggle to make the playoffs. This jump in class is going to be soon regretted...they should count their lucky stars that they were as successful as they were this year.
  4. GWave2010, the only Wing T you didn't stop was us? Really? What about when Beech put up 32 points and almost 400 yards of total O against you in the playoffs?
  5. Wow I wish I was witty, intelligent, and smart enough to repeat the exact same joke that the 400 other invalids from Columbia had posted. Wait, let me go ahead..."I heard Obama is going to call the Bucs coaching staff and ask their permission to send the troops!" "Roger Goodell is looking into swapping the Tampa Bay Bucs with the Beechs Bucs!" "I heard that the Titans are drafting Sikes, Haymer, and Zincini with their first 3 draft picks!" And finally..."I heard that Columbia's dream season will come to an end when they finally play a team better than mediocre"...oh wait, that one is true. Look, I know you guys from Columbia probably just got the internet a few years ago, and probably more recently found out that it wasn't a microwave, and even more recently realized that it can be used for more than porn, but please, save us all the trouble of sifting through your brain-sludge and stop posting, your value is slightly above that of a Goodwill toothbrush.
  6. In the words of my one-time college roommate (seriously), he has made a lot of money by saying "not so fast my friend!" The guy was correct, I don't think any of us who have made predictions are from Beech, and I can assure you they are more prepped and more humble about this game than any this season. I would doubt any rings have been ordered. I see both of these teams as underdogs because although Columbia is a #1, I cannot forsee anyone as predicting either them or Beech to be in this position. Yes, I have saw Columbia play, not as much as Beech, but Beech has the Lions outmanned and unless the coaching staff flops, Beech takes home another state title.
  7. Has no one watched Beech play? I guess not, because if that were the case, this topic would be at 2 pages tops, with a mere debate over how many they win by. Beech cruises... And before you start talking that talk, YES, I am saying Columbia is overmatched and YES, I am saying it will take a great game by the Lions and a terrible game by Beech for the Bucs to lose. Beech 34 CC 17
  8. Patfan, enjoy basketball season and do yourself a favor and forget football. This was (once again) supposed to be HC's year and they couldn't even beat (or truly contend with) a team that got manhandled by Beech. Trust me, it is better this way because any of the 4 teams would treat the Pats much worse than the Wave did. Also, do yourself another favor and don't get too excited in the future when you run the table in that weak division because you will, once again, get sent home when you face a reasonable opponent in the later rounds.
  9. he laid down when he got hit - runs hard when no ones around... haymer loves contact, breaks tackles... perry doesn't Haymer is really good. Runs downhill all the time. However, I saw Perry all year and I totally disagree with your statement. He will juke your socks off though. Jukes so much he juked himself to the sideline for the 4th quarter while Haymer was getting 1st downs without his helmet on. Close this thread now because there is no debate when in comes to Haymer/Perry.
  10. I have to hand it to the Green Wave, they did everything they could to hang with the superior talent that Beech has. Beech's line manhandled the wave up front all night. Gallatin's QB is the far and away leader of this team, physically and everything else.
  11. How many coaches can you name from MJ? That is your answer.
  12. Yes I know this is true, especially after we lose our head coach. I am able to call an apple an apple, I have no qualms about that. Too bad you galatians do. I don't guess it is so bad, it just gives me ample reason/evidence to get you fired up about it. I wish gwave1 would tell us one more time that Gallatin is the underdog, I am not sure I have yet taken his whole-hearted unfounded claim seriously yet. Keep screaming it wave1, that way if you lose your excuse is already in print. Why do you have so little confidence in your squad? They just beat the #1 team in 5a. No sarcasm...
  13. Crack, by "great football tradition" do you mean a decade of beating up on metro schools and then losing in the first round, every year? If so...that is probably SO true.
  14. If it is Gallatin by 14 that means Beech will either get a late score in junk time or Lass will call off the dogs and get conservative. It is themselves, not themselfs. We don't play basketball in Mt. Juliet.
  15. Stop the presses so Gwave1 can express his disbelief. Why would I care about the Beech players getting fired up? They got screwed in the 7-0 game, they don't need any of us to fire them up. gtowner, I think he was talking about the Beech game in particular with the long runs comment, not the season in it's entirety. In the case on that night, your back was bottled up on every play other than those two long runs. Trulyblessed and patfan ...we understand that you are pulling for the wave because they are the reason your boys are squeak squeaking on the basketball court right now and we also understand you won't say anything worth reading. Please, unless you have some insight, predictions, or anything less vanilla than you have posted, consider your job done and stop wasting our time. If anyone cares, Mt. Juliet will be under new management next year. With all that said, I stand by my comment that Gallatin is the favorite after knocking off the #1, although it is obvious they were extremely, extremely overrated and would have finished #3 at best in the district we are all involved in. Beech hasn't beaten anyone in the playoffs that deserved to be in the playoffs. Clarksville schools are spread too thin. Just look at what it did to Henry Co.
