  1. Really? If they were just going to undermine the reason for districts, then why even go to this district format to begin with? This has taken too much out of the hands of the actual coaches and teams and put way too much into the value of the spread sheet. Exhibit A: Tyner, who has a difficult time scheduling opponents to begin with, is being punished for putting McCallie on the schedule.
  2. Tyner had just as good of chance to go 10-0 as Loudon did. The difference is that the TSSAA has jobbed Tyner 2 years in a row now and rewarded Loudon for being in the same district as CAK and Alcoa. The timing of this type of criteria change is laughable and should result in some major changes on the board. At the least, this change should have been made in years were each district was realigned with the same amount of teams and everyone was setting up 2 year schedule plans.
  3. I'm guessing because when you're dodging your county rival and opting for a 9 game schedule, it overshadows the accomlishments of your team. Things like that just don't get ignored. Learn to live with it.
  4. As the final minutes of last night's Polk/Sequoyah game ran off the clock, Polk's Freshmen and Sophomores were steadily marching down the field to the Sequoyah endzone. Polk County had stifled the Chiefs all night, giving up only a single first down in the first half while building up a 34-0 lead at intermission. This continued into the 2nd half as Sequoyah's final statistics read only 49 yards of offense. Polk scored early in the 2nd half to go up 40-0, then proceeded to sub-in underclassmen. It could have been much worse. This was evident by Polk Co's coaching staff calling for their back-up to the back-up QB taking a knee on 4 straight plays inside the Chief 5, as the last 1:30 rolled off the clock. Some call that gesture common courtesy. As the game ended and both teams and coaches poured onto the field to extend a hand in the name of sportsmanship, it was fairly evident that someone was missing. That person was Chiefs coach, Bill Satterfield. Not only did Satterfield refuse to shake hands, multiple times at the conclusion of the game he was heard using the term "classless" very liberally when describing Polk County. Calling off the dogs early on a clearly out matched opponent is....... Classless?!?? Funny use of words by a man that won't even set a good example to his team by joinging them in shaking the opposing teams hand at games end.... While we're on the subject.... Wasn't it just a few weeks ago when Satterfield had his starters in late, winning big, at home against winless McMinn Central throwing into the endzone???? Show some class, coach.
  5. You do realize he is now 25-5 as a starter, right? Unlike you, he isn't some clueless rube who just found his way out of the cornfields; he knows how to win.
  6. I didn't make up anything... I was just giving you a chance to be subjective when backing up your points. Feel free to use any of the other 5 games this season to prove your point though, I'm all ears. Stats 2010 carries tds Allen 36 13 Leading East Tn in scoring through week 7
  7. So as most of you know, the projected playoff quadrants are not posted on the TSSAA website. Everything looks as it should in 3A except that Bledsoe and Sequatchie are 1 and 2 in their district but are in separate quads in the posted projections. So my question is..... Am I wrong in thinking that automatic qualifiers from the same district are supposed to be grouped together in the same quadrant? Thanks in advance
  8. Okay "huge Polk fan", when should they have been throwin' the ole pigskin around last friday(49-14 over WV)? During drives when they were rippin' WV for 8 yards a carry or during one of their 1-play drives when the FB took it the distance from 65 and 94 yards? Or better yet, should Allen of been in the game lobbing bombs when up Polk was already up 49-0 with ten minutes left in the 3rd quarter? Hopefully my question is on your level of intellect and not just child-like drivel to your superior non-subjective point of view.
  9. Me not know what I'm talking about? I know enough to say with 100% certainty that Copper Hill ended the series in May '05, when it sent a letter to PCHS informing them that they were gonna play a team 50 miles away instead of their county rival. Did I mention that the schedules had already been turned into the TSSAA 3 months previous and that it was just an attempt by Stone to one up PCHS by leaving them at the alter with a 9 game schedule!?!? Nope, 602. Their must have been a heck of a rise in population this year if thats the average of past years for grades 7-12 because it currently has 316 in grades 9-12. The anger was getting ridiculous, huh? It was no worse than it was during the years when each side annually printed up t-shirts ripping the other school a new one. There was never the first sign of a fight. Plain and simple... It was a healthy football rivalry that generated a ton of money for the county and was ended because Copper Hill decided to hitch themselves to Stone and travel outside of the state rather than play football inside their own county.
  10. Who needs to throw when you avg 15ypc and a TD every 3 times you carry the ball?
  11. Signal Mountain is a recruiting machine.
  12. Please show me where beating Taft, Towns, and Andrews equals anything close to a sign of consistent success at the high school level. Those teams, like yours for the past 5 years, can hardly line down. It was until Copper Hill decided to move the series to coacht instead of the actual football field. Interesting only for bookies wondering if they could actually set the line for a hs playoff game at -137. Stop making so much sense, this thread has gone on WAYY too long without facts.
  13. Any clue on who Basin is planning on scheduling next year? How far are ya'll going to fall off after the 12 seniors leave?
  14. Hmmm.... I wonder if Benny Monroe is interested in coaching again? Heard there might be a spot open up soon at a Bradley County school......
  15. Eh, I'll say that ND scores 3TDs on 3 plays against Polk's C teamers.... Polk- 46 ND-20
  16. That's an earth shaking prediction from you...
  17. I have personally seen Kirkman, Vonore, and Madisonville all practicing when it was too hot......
  18. Kelvin Hughley's '97 team was the best. All others are vying for 2nd place.
  19. Don't know about McMinn but I know the Owls will be wishing for the Monroe days by October.....
  20. So how did your guys react when you posted this in the BCHS field house?
  21. Tyner will be playing well into November. Why? The RAMS have Wayne Turner. Nuff said.
  22. Props to Cobb. No arguement here. Boo hoo. My name is Scots50 and I don't like it when someone points out the glaring flaw of my Blount County Tornados Here's a random post for you. Your team's roster has more add/drops than a freshman class schedule at UTK. Alcoa is the only school I know of that when going out of state to find competition, they go to the only state in the southeasts who's level of talent is below their own.
