Giles loses a lot of talent this year. And, that's on a team that wasn't suppose to make it past the second round. Just stating the facts boys.

Hate to tell you but it will be a long, long time before Giles will make it deep into the playoffs.

The only team in the state that would be able to handle Alcoa would be in a rematch with Maryville!!

Giles shouldn't have been there tonight. Trezevant would have been a much better match and game. Hats off to giles though. Weak playoff schedule and cought a great Memphis team looking ahead!

Ya'll have all lost it. It is most definately the Wallace kid from Giles County last year! He was simply phenominal!!! Not as good as his father though but were only talking 20 years here!

Does the new HC have to have a college degree? I heard some rumors about the GC HC job and there was talk about the Wallace kids dad being named as the new head coach. Anyone else heard this?

Wait a minute. You should know! You've got two kids involved at Richland. One in H.S. and the other in elementary.

It's called the Wallace effect. Everyone wants their kids to attain the attention level and two the Edwards boy wasn't that good either but, then again, just make sure you date/marry into the family.

Still no proven coach though. I understand that he is bringing more disclipine to the program though. Just don't look to far into the future.

Last year wasn't afluke for us at all. It basically just showed what is lying ahead. From what I gather, because of last year, there is more enthusiasm. That will carry a lot of weight but then again, by season five, we will know where we stand with the W/L record.

Giles County and South Greene!

Yes. That was the coach. I thought it was something with his heart though. Didn't know it was an aneurysm. Didn't one of his assistant coaches take over and coach? I do remember when Spring Hill could hold their own with the big AA schools and even some AAA schools. The last thing I remember about Papa Wade was that he went to Miss. State for a year or so then got into trouble by having some kids break into the school. Kind of a sad deal to have that happen to someone who was a Mr. Football and a legend during their time. In a way I can understand why they changed it back in '86 but I still think it sucks. It's all about the money. I mean, you have a 2-8 team in the playoffs????? I think if they are going to keep 5 or 6 classifications then they need to back it down to the top two teams. If they go back to 3 classifications then they need to have it at top 3 teams from each Region. 1vs3 and 2vs2 from the respective regions... All this money grap is really taking away from the sport. In addition, the TSSAA completely destroyed bowl games!

What is going on in the rumor mill about Wallace's deal with Arkansas State? Been hearing some things toward backing out. Rumor is somthing to do with a different choice of school but also heard something about a class last semester.

Real classy there OMG. Attack a person's heritage and an entire group of people. I dropped the "W" because it ain't too "wise" to make an Indian mad. Have you ever seen how they can sneak up on you and do really bad things to you before you even know they're there.? Dang 66 have more faith in yourself plus who would want a scalp that looks like Rawlings 1955 model glove? Too old to be PC plus my mom is 3/4 Cherokee. Can't sneak up on something that backs itself against the wall and challenges the world either. As long as OC is there, they will be the team to beat! Back to the topic. Giles has some great talent but will need more experience. We should be the poster child for “coaching matters most”. Look at Giles before OC & his staff arrived and then look at the last 3 years. Giles has always had the athletes and now has the staff to be competitive. Giles will be in most of their games. Giles TEAM will be alright.

I agree I hope he does weed out the naysayers also but you have to realize that the new coach was being "run out" of the state of Alabama. This was one of those hurry up and find sombody not local situations.
