OK. Your getting a little bit ahead of yourself on the timeline. Richland was a good football school through the 80's but by the decade of the 90's, they were no longer good. They never were a power house. To provide an accurate time line, follow below. First coach was Jerry Bost. One year.... Second coach was Brud Spickard. He took them to the Butter Bowl where they lost to Franklin Road Academy. After that season he was run off for "womanizing"....... Another story on that topic. Next came in Rogers for two years. He basically kept what Spickard had started. In 82' Richland beat Spring Hill in the Walking Horse Bowl. After the 83' season, Rodgers left and went to Huntland where he became principal.... Chunn comes in for the 84' season. They were undefeated for the first four or five games but were later forfited for recruiting violations. (Hobbs recruited Bill Wallace from Memphis) Ended season with a 2-8 record. 85' Won Butterbowl and finished with 8-3 record. Losses coming from Spring Hill, Forrest and Huntland. 86' Made playoffs in first year of expanded format but got blown out again by Spring Hill. 87' clinic bowl runner up but had a blow out loss again to a 3-7 Spring Hill team. Players (Mostly the other four seniors) threw the game because of #22's rant during practice that week and his saying "I" while he was ranting. Loss to Greenback 34-0 in championship game. 88' Went 10-3. Lost to Moore County and Friendship Christian in regular season. Beat undefeated Mt. Pleasant for second year in a row in the playoffs. Beat Waynesboro in playoffs. Got beat by Bishop Byrne. 89' Went 10-2. Beat by Collinwood first game of Season and second round of playoffs. 90' Went 7-4. Beat by Moore County, Forrest, Spring Hill, Waynesboro. Beat number one ranked Spring Hill in first round then beat by Mt. Pleasant. 91' Went 2-8. Beat Collinwood and Cornersville. 92' Went 3-8. Beat Collinwood and Cornersville and Huntland. Stomped first round of playoffs by Spring Hill. 93' Shirey's first year. Beat Collinwood, Cornersville, Huntland, Forrest then got blown out by Spring Hill first round. 94' Winless.......... That is your summery of Richland Football. During the 94' season, Shirey and Taylor swapped as offense and defense coaches. Taylor then becomes head coach. There you have it boys and girls!

Ahhhh. Attitudes like that is why I'm going to really enjoy seeing you cry Saturday after your beloved cats are dragged through the snow. By the time we are done with you the snow will be colored green.

Hey Bud, we had a poster earlier this year claiming to be a Lipscomb fan, but couldnt even spell lipscomb right, turned out he was a Bo hater trying to get junk started, sounds alot like this guy, he may not be a gville fan, there really are wolf in sheep clothing. Hey likarock someone pointed this out earlier today. starting to see a pattern. Oh, I get it. You guys are talking about me? What's a bo hater? Why are you coming after me? Why nobody answered my questions?

You guys are good sports. Maybe after the game ya'll can follow us back to East Tennessee and we can show ya'll some fun. It wont be hard to keep up. You'll be following the WINNERS!

Well, I hope everyone enjoys the game. I also hope that the weather doesn't take a harmfull toll on both teams traveling to the game.

You'll see your share of him saturday in Cookeville. I said it earlier after watching the film by the school website that he was going to be a handfull. The only problem that he's going to have is our two d-tackles are some of the best in the state if not the best in East Tennessee! But, I think we can hold him. Does the weather turn cold in Middle TN later than it does here?

Well, I guess I could understand it if I had a kid playing. Maybe. Makes me think of a few years back. There was a teenage baseball coach just up the road. A parent came out of the stands and picked up a bat and beat the living snot out of this guy. To me, that's stupid.

Look at his recruitment! Look at the boys from the hill last Saturday too. Fat Phil passed on Cobb back then and I thought that was a mistake too. Guess I was correct. He didn't win the game for them but look at the difference he has made.

IMO most of the time when teams are successful, you can look at their impact players and there will be a question as to whether or not they should be at that particular school. Look over here in East Tennessee at Maryville.

Like cussing? Why would someone get on here swearing? That would be an instant write off in my book. Do people let the passion of High School Football eat at them that much?

Saw this one on the front and read it. I think it is great to commend these seniors. Football is not everything in life and you guys will have more to live for than just sports. Good luck!

He got a little too passionate about this coacht stuff and said some over the line stuff I guess. I warned him that Coacht reads these threads too but he wouldn't listen. I think the boards are better with him gone...less trash talk. What do you mean by over the line stuff and Coacht reads threads? I'm a newbie to this.

What about the G.C. RB? I know this is the Mr. Football thread but the recruiting page on your website has him on there. IMO he looks pretty good. Ya'll got any stats on him? Any offers?
