  1. Head to head must not have been part of the seeding ctiteria.... Garcia defeated Olson at 132 last week on his way to winning McGavock and was seeded 3. Olson gets top seed....
  2. When will the seeding information be posted? Will it be on the tourney website?
  3. According to BCB, Jack certified at 132, therefore, should be ranked accordingly.... grhouse, when are you planning on updating the D2 rankings?
  4. GHouse has already posted a solid analysis on this weight class and I agree that with 6 Medalist in the field the outcome will come be decided by whomever has the best day. There is not a clear favorite that is head and shoulders above the field.

  6. Yet again, GHouse proves he is one of the more intelligent posters and has a high wrestling IQ. The 119 assessment was a good read and right on the money. I would love to get your early thoughts on the DII State Duals outlook, as well as, your thoughts about the wrestle off versus Coach decision debate to determine line ups for individual tournaments... Thanks again Barrel.
  7. That may be the case in college and some of the top programs in the country, however, I am sure all involved at Baylor's program knew full well what the rules were at the beginning of the season with regard to challenge matches. In my opinion, if coaching decisions versus wrestle offs determine the line ups for individual tournaments the attrition rate for wrestling will surely increase. Again, a lot of wresters are attacked to the sport because if you can beat the guy at your weight on the team you start... period...
  8. The beauty of this sport is if you can beat all challengers for the weight class the spot is yours. This is especially true for an individual tournament. It seems to me that if he can beat Reese, it would be his choice and Reese in turn could challenge the others at 135. There are often many weight class changes for the State individual tournament. The wrestle off process is more fair than any other sport and the precise reason lots of kids choose wrestling over more subjective (coach discretion types of sports) like football, etc.
  9. I would agree that GHouse ranks the wrestlers in a fair and unbiased manner with an emphasis on head to head, and Tournament place finishes. After saying that, I believe he has the 119 spot on. Brunner and Akers only have two head to heads with those matches being split (both OT matches). My take on this weight class is that there is not a clear front runner that is heads and tails better than the field. It is truly up for grabs ...IMHO. GHouse please weigh in...
  10. BB, Could you pls shed some light on how the DII Dual Tournment brackets would look in the event of a McCallie 1 seed or a Baylor 1 seed? Thanks. Barrel
  11. Benito would have to show up to school before showing up on the weight cert system.....
  12. Robinson CBHS 112 Top of Freshman Class by far....
  13. I would add the Walsh Ironman to your list of top Folkstyle Tournaments.
  14. Old Chin, Looks like MBA took it on the chin... I heard the Nashville Catholic Team embarrassed MBA.... MBA won only one match in that dual... Don't know about McCauly... Barrel

    119

I also see Zach Watson is registered at 119. If that holds for the season he will be the heavy favorite to win his 4th Title (DII 119).
  16. Continuing the 112 theme... you have to include D2 favorites Robinson, and Brunner....
  17. GHouse, Could you explain to all of us how the procedure works for lineup changes? It was my understanding that only one wrestler per team per weight class could be entereed and once seeded no changes could take place... Is this correct? Thanks for always clarifying these issues for us. Barrel
  18. GHouse, I can certainly respect your position with regard to potentially spreading rumors about weight changes ect... You are correct, it is my understanding that the seeding meeting took several hours and the brackets are now complete. Do you know when they will be posted? Barrel
  19. GHouse, Can you at least say whether or not Bauke has certified at 125? Barrel
  20. GHouse, is one of the changes you were referring to Carlos Callaway moving to 112? Can you elaborate on any other moves? Barrel
  21. The DII seeding meeting will be held tomorrow night...
  22. pics from finals and awards are now loaded....
  23. Totalgard.com Inexpensive and works great for wrestlers....
  24. I will weigh in on my two cents about the venue... I agree the location, facility, and staff were exceptional. I would have also like to have seen the more than one concession stand open on Friday. The lines were way too long... I would have also like to see the large holding area utilized for a warm-up area verses empty open mats. Finally, the weigh in changing area should be moved away from the public or draped. All in all, with a few minor changes this venue would get my vote for next year as well with the site rotating every two years thereafter.
  25. Before clicking on the article scroll down the page and there will be another link titled photos Bayor/McCallie....
