  1. Nobody dropped anybody. Gallatin made it top priority to first schedule Hendersonville and Beech, for obvious reasons, those were scheduled weeks 1 and 2 before the region schedules had come out. First, the TSSAA granted Warren County's appeal to move to region 4, which took away a non region game. Then when the TSSAA set the region schedules, Gallatin was left with week 4 and week 10 to fill with non region games. The TSSAA scheduled Beech to play region games both those weeks, Portland and Hunters Lane. So the dates didn't match up to play Beech.
  2. Here's Gallatin's: Week 1 Hendersonville Week 2 at Station Camp Week 3 Mt Juliet (Region) Week 4 at Dickson County Week 5 at Warren County (Region) Week 6 at Green Hill (Region) Week 7 Cookeville (Region) Week 8 Off Week 9 at Wilson Central (Region) Week 10 at Springfield Week 11 Lebanon (Region)
  3. Nice win by Westmoreland to open the season.
  4. I'm hearing Gallatin will open with Hendersonville and play Station Camp in week 2. I've also heard Beech and Station Camp will play week 1.
  5. Station Camp was placed in an 8 team region, so they can only play 3 of those at most.
  6. The last time Gallatin had 3 losing seasons in a row was 1960-63, and that was with two different head coaches. Gallatin has never had 3 losing seasons in a row under the same head coach.
  7. Mondo, might as well try calling the White House........
  8. I think bowl games have completely gone away now, non playoff teams are allowed to schedule an extra game, and don't have to have a .500 or better record. Two years ago Station Camp. at 0-10, scheduled Hunters Lane and won 42-14 to finish 1-10. That one win probably helped change the direction of their program, they went 8-3 the next year. Tonight first year school Liberty Creek, at 2-7, hosts Ezell-Harding, 3-7 and their first year back from 8 man football. One of these teams will get a nice win to end their tough season on a high note.
  9. Mondo44 you definitely hit on a hot topic around here these days.........zoning!
  10. Wave88 I also remember when Beech wouldn't play Gallatin. Sometimes it might not be possible for everybody to play each other, even if they tried. One or more teams might be in a 7 or 8 team region, thus fewer non region games, open dates might not match up, and everybody wants to get 5 home and 5 away games. We'll have to wait and see how it goes, but I wouldn't think anybody has eliminated another at this point.
  11. Before Nothwest and Kenwood opted to move up to 6A, I thought Gallatin would be put with what was the 4 Clarkeville schools, but now there's 6, so I'm thinking that pushed them to the 4 Wilson County schools, plus Cookeville maybe. Definitely better gates, but also a much tougher region. Depending on how many region games there are, it really might be difficult to schedule all 3 Sumner schools. You'd think Station Camp is a given, but the dates might not match up with all 3, while also trying to get an even 5 home and away games. We'll see.
  12. There's a board of controls meeting set for November 17, I would expect the districts and regions for all sports to be set that day.
  13. Now that we know Northwest and Kenwood, plus Dickson County now, are moving to 6A, I think my last possible scenario will be really close, just add Dickson County to Region 7.
  14. Several have said Kenwood and Northwest are both filing to move up, that deadline is today so hopefully the TSSAA will announce tomorrow who has moved up.
  15. I can see that logic. If they do move up, it affects 3 teams in my scenario. Coffee Co moves to 4, Gallatin bumps over to 3, and McGavock moves to 6. Here's what it would look like: 3 Cookeville Gallatin Green Hill Lebanon Mt Juliet Wilson Central 4 Blackman Coffee Co Oakland Riverdale Rockvale Siegel Warren Co 5 Clarksville Kenwood Northeast Northwest Rossview West Creek 6 Antioch Cane Ridge Lavergne McGavock Smyrna Stewarts Creek 7 Brentwood Franklin Independence Overton Ravenwood Summit
  16. Have they officially notified the TSSAA of their intentions to move up to 6A? The deadline to do this is next Monday the 24th, until then what they've put out is all we have to go on. They didn't choose to do that 2 years ago and other than the fact that the other Clarksville schools are 6A I don't know that I would want to play up.
  17. Here's how I think the 5 middle regions could be put together. Splitting Coffee Co and Warren Co, plus all the Nashville schools, gets as many 6 team regions as you can get with 29 teams: 3 Coffee Co Cookeville Green Hill Lebanon Mt Juliet Wilson Central 4 Blackman Oakland Riverdale Rockvale Siegel Warren Co 5 Clarksville Gallatin McGavock Northeast Rossview West Creek 6 Antioch Cane Ridge Lavergne Smyrna Stewarts Creek 7 Brentwood Franklin Independence Overton Ravenwood Summit
  18. They'll most likely leave regions 1 (6 teams) and 2 (6 teams) in the east, and 8 (8 teams) in the west, exactly the same, they are the same exact 20 schools currently in those regions. That's going to leave 5 middle regions again for 29 schools (Mondo you left off West Creek). I'm putting my guess together and will post soon.
  19. The TSSAA usually puts them out the Monday before week 11.
  20. That guy on the visitor side used to be able to climb those stands a lot better than now!
  21. Always great to see you Mondo44, we'll visit a little before kickoff, and meet on the field after, just like we've always done, win lose or draw, since we became acquainted about 15 years ago. I honestly don't know what to expect with this game, just when I thought Gallatin was about to turn the corner, last week slowed the turn and Friday night turned them completely around. Part of me wants to believe a good year is still out there, but it pretty much starts with this game.
  22. Yep, a win is a win no matter the margin. QB Cook did get banged up and was pretty sore early in the week, but he was fine last night. Good luck against Riverdale tonight.
  23. No everybody played, it was just one of those nights when nothing seemed to click exactly right. West Creek in my opinion has improved, especially defensively, but Gallatin just seemed to be off the whole night. Playing on Thursday or looking ahead to the big SC game next week might have played into that, I don't know. All teams have those kind of nights every now and then. A win is a win though.
