  1. Welcome to the ever moving parts of the TSSAA.
  2. It might've come out that way earlier but that's not what's there now, take a new look at it.
  3. This is not entirely correct, the list on the TSSAA website has Whitehaven at 1601 and in 6A.
  4. Wave88 if I remember right they're initial number was changed later, higher at 1601. They're #40 on the list and definitely still in 6A.
  5. Strange things can happen but if last Friday is any indication it won't be.
  6. The scoreboard on this website for December 28 so far anyway has Knoxville Catholic as a participant.
  7. The scoreboard on this website for December 28 so far has Macon County, Dobyns Bennett and Loretto in this tournament. Obviously Greeneville would be a 4th team.
  8. Portland and Green Hill will be 3A, the other 7 will be 4A.
  9. Who's playing in or hosting a tournament the week of December 28? Reply with the name of the tournament, where it is, and a list of teams participating.
  10. Who's playing in or hosting a tournament the week of December 28? Reply with the name of the tournament, where it is, and a list of teams participating.
  11. Those Covid region wins won't count in their overall record, they replaced them with other teams. Their regular season record will be 10 games.
  12. Oh no, nobody's happy with the way this season has gone, I promise you. But we'll play the hand we're dealt with, and hopefully make the best out of a first round home game. It is what it is.
  13. Ridiculous maybe, but those were the new rules, and back when they were written the entire state of Tennessee high school football fan base was just happy that we were even playing football, at all. I'm not the biggest TSSAA fan, but they did the best they could with the hand dealt.
  14. If a region game is not played and it is virus related, it counts as a region win for the team that could play, and a no contest for the team that couldn't. The TSSAA will seed accordingly, it's as simple as that. Fair is out the window this year. As far as trying to reschedule region games, most if not all coaches have worked their tails off to ensure their teams get ten games, and that makes it difficult or impossible to reschedule region games later.
  15. Congrats to the Commandos on the win, they played well all the way around. Not to take anything away from them, but something is way wrong with Gallatin at this point. I won't say much here, but we just witnessed the worst margin of defeat in the long history of the series.
  16. Thanks mondo, I echo those comments right back at you and your family. Time sure has a way of getting away swiftly. See you in a little while!
  17. IIt's going to be a great night for football. Hendersonville's losses are to very good teams, Oakland, Beech and Independence, so they will present a big challenge for the Wave. These two teams have been playing for many years, records definitely don't matter. Always look forward to seeing mondo44 pregame. Looks like our tradition of meeting on the field post game, whoever wins, is in jeopardy. We've done this every year (a few years twice!) since we became acquainted in 2007, but we'll just have to do it a little differently this year, maybe at the gate going out.
  18. There are 294 football playing schools in division 1, 49 to each class.
  19. You are correct, schools can choose to play up, but nobody ever gets bumped down.
  20. Maybe your school needs to get a group together and petition the TSSAA to get the rule changed to ban any perceived annoying band playing. Every team have one designated Cue Band Coach, he signals to the opposing team's band with a head nod yes when it's ok to play, and with a head shake no when he thinks it's not. Call it the Stop Bands Misbehaving Clause.
  21. I was hoping we all could move on, but since you couldn't I won't either. As a fan that's seen hundreds of games, I can't recall anybody complaining like this after actually WINNING the game. I hate our band screwed your team up so bad that they didn't win by 60 or 70 points. Again, to all the Henry County fans that have actually moved on, good luck the rest of the season. To those that have noise issues, maybe your next game will be quieter.
  22. Our band does this every game, and so do others, it's just magnified this year with where they've been placed. They'll slide back to the other side next where maybe it won't bother anybody. Your band doesn't do it, that's their choice, but as I said it's perfectly fine to do so. You were the better team, you won, we all move on now.
  23. To clarify the band and cheerleaders, they always have been and would be all on the home side during normal times. But we all know these aren't normal times. Due to the TSSAA restrictions, which include limited ticket sales and having to spread out, the school decided to put the band on the visiting side this year. That's because we have such a large visiting side that isn't going to be filled up with visiting fans, so this gives the band the ability to spread out like they're supposed to. Since the cheerleaders dance to the band a lot of the time, we decided to put half of them with the band, and keep the other half with the students. It's as simple as that. There's nothing that keeps a band from playing when they want to during a game, and most bands do, at least at the games I've been to over the years. That probably gets more magnified with the visiting team's band not being there, such as last night. To the 99% that are great Henry County fans, good luck the rest of the way, you have a really good team.
