  1. I did not say coalfield would make it to SP either. I said your run will end in November my guess is round 3 but possibly round 2 depending on the draw y'all get. As for the 4 schools twice their size, just because you beat a team with twice as many players doesn't, by default, make them a good team. As for the 4a school you referenced I can only assume you are speaking of pigeon forge, instead of crying & whining about cheating can't you just. . . Well let's see, how did that go? Oh yea, just "man up & admit you got smoked by a far superior team that was better coached, more physical, & tougher in every respect (should be aspect but I'm quoting here)" hypocrisy makes proving points a breeze. Thanks for playing. P.S. If you doubt the accuracy of my assessments just ask anyone of your buddies in wartburg. See you in December, just don't forget your tickets, YOU'LL need one to get in
  2. Please hammer don't hurt 'em TC HUGE! Get 'em jackets but please, do have mercy
  3. While coalfield will have a decent play off run this year they are not a top tier team at the statewide level. Remember the road to cookeville for the eastern side of the state runs through the house that cast iron built. I have saw both play this year & smart money says while South Pitt. might not (emphasis on might not) mercy rule coalfield but their starters would get an early start on rehydration for the next round. I think I'll hang on to your post & see how much you "man up" & admit your inferiority in November. You should win your watered down district. . . Then the reckoning! And by the way, I wouldn't bring all this up if there wasn't so much chest thumping going on
  4. If you spell period at the end of a sentence do you still need one at the end?
  5. 10 hours & 28 minutes from now. Tick, tock. . . Tick, tock. . . Tick, tock.
  6. While the coacht community may not have proof it is rather obvious the TSSAA did, hence the post season suspension.
  7. +1 We're standing on the same soap box on this one pujo.
  8. Well while I have not saw these two teams play each other this season I suspect neither have you since they haven't yet. I did see the game 2 years ago & this GCA team would have beaten that one. I have, however, saw Greenback play Oneida @ Greenback & watched GCA twice against CAK & AC. I'm with the pujo on this one. It doesn't seem close to me either. My heart wants GB to light it up but my head says it's a long shot at best. I think GCA will have to much for GB to handle & GCA wins this one going away. As for how much, well let's just say I think pujo is being nice. As for your not wanting to "bash" GB & say it's gonna be a nail biter I do respect that but I suspect you suffer from a condition that coaches know as "poor mouth". Best of luck to both squads.
  9. Haters LOVE to hate. . . do me a favor though, ask Coach Rankin how many phone calls he's gotten this last couple weeks wanting to ink a Home/Home from some of the schools on here hatin'. I'm betting his voice mail box still has plenty of room in it
  10. Man don't even sweat ole double bang. AE & Fulton have been pulling a Rodney Dangerfield since their "super region" bubble got busted. They've been sitting together crying in the rain ever since about "no respect". They had phenomenal success but when the glory days of enrollment got hammered they found out that with equal talent the hill to the 'boro (now Cookeville) gets a lot steeper. They ain't been able to get over it yet
  11. Since Alcoa's so "down" this year why don't you talk to the coach of the team you follow. You know schedule an "easy dubya" next season. I'm sure you'd be all for that right. Now I'm not an Alcoa faithful (just ask face for radio) but I am a fan of high school football. I have been surprised about Alcoa's fate thus far this season but I have also looked at what happened. Maryville loss - it's Maryville enough said. AE loss - fluke, look at the stats & watch the film, Alcoa wins 9 outta 10 of those. GreenEville (the E is a shout out to the city limit sign) loss - Quality team that looks to be at least championship game bound & my pick to win it. Alcoa has stepped up their non-district schedule much higher than most would dare. Have to respect what has happened in Alcoa the last. . . well nearly a decade. Most thump their chest if they have a deep run 1 or 2 years in a row. I think Alcoa has earned the right to get the chance to prove they can get it done again. I hope they do but if they don't it still takes nothing away from what they have accomplished. JMO
  12. Excerpt of a post from FFR last season: "Hey down and distance, I always do a little research on opponents towns and environs so I'll have something to talk about in the second half, when "Alcoa scores", gets redundant. So, yes I knew who Scott was before the post, but not by much. However, if you went to school in TN, knowing who the first governor was shouldn't be a stumper." Hey radio head was a little curious. . . YOU STILL BORED?
  13. What ever came of the QB Wartburg had this past season. You know the guy a few of the bulldog nation hailed as the second coming of Peyton Manning. Did he sign anywhere?
  14. Oh my gosh, this is killin' me. Mandamon it's 3 dots with spaces between . . . You know like that not ..............................between every other word. Reading your post is like herding cats. For goodness sake, learn where the frickin comma button is.
  15. My statement was going on SP's reputation vs Coalfield's. Not in a bad way. Meaning SP's tremendous success vs. Coalfield's lack there of over the last several years. I don't for a second think they'll over look Coalfield. SP is to good to do that. I just think the players for SP may be expecting a lesser opponent than they will see. When they see it they will still over power it. This one won't be close. I just expect the conversations between some of SP's players after the game to have a "man that #so & so was tougher, faster, stronger, better than I thought he would be" kinda tone to it. I'm not saying they will be actual competition for the Pirates, just better than expected.
  16. Copper Basin ran a three man front the first half bringIng very little pressure & they got lit up. Second half they started bringing heat & literally shut down Coalfields scoring. No points for them the second half. The QB sounded like he became almost a non factor once the heat was put on him. This was from what I understood listening to it on their local radio station on the web while at another game last night. Was looking for Wartburg / Boyd but this game was on first. I think Coalfield will be a little tougher than the SP players are expecting but still no match. Pirates win big with their starters cuttin' their tape off early.
  17. I stated a simple opinion earlier this week that a few posters from WB didn't agree with so they continued to call me out for page after page. As for the team read the first part of my post. For the narrow minded posters that couldn't handle a simple observation that proved to be spot on about their team because they were letting their hearts get ahead of their brain they are the intended target audience for the second half of my post.
  18. I'll second that. Boyd / TC game would be SWEEET!
  19. Like I said, final buzzer sounded with the starters sippin' Gatorade.
  20. Well I'm a man of my word. The game is over & I'm back. First off let me say to the WB players, no need to hang your heads. Y'all had a heck of a run & you paved the road to success for the underclassmen to follow. You put in the work & showed your community a season like they have never seen before from what I understand. You just drew a buzz saw in the Boyd team. No reason to be disappointed for losing to such a quality team. After all it happens to every team in the state but 1. Continue on the road you are traveling & that 1 team could be you one day. Best of luck to you & for the underclassmen get ready to go to work to continue the winning ways. Now for some of the WB fans, not intended for the players or coaches, I'm torn between two statements so I guess I'll use 'em both. To quote Toby Keith: "How do ya' like me now!?" or perhaps Mr. Randy Travis said it best "I tooold youuuuu sooooo, oh I tooold you sooooo" BTW I do still have openings in that clinic some of you expressed interest in earlier in the week.
