My misunderstanding I thought when yall said the best back in the state you meant the number 1 back in the state. My bad Also to the person that said it took Rutherford county long enough to slay the Dragon. Well Oakland did it straight up, fair and square. They did not need a 12th man on their team in stripes to make a Phantom call in the last minutes of the game to beat them. Everybody that watched that game knows including you, that if that phantom call is not made Whitehaven goes home with the silver ball. So I guess you could say your Championship should have an asterisk by it. How many championships does Whitehaven have in 6A? I don't think your running back will get 100 yards I could be wrong but we will see. That's why they play the game!

Dang I thought you guys said you had the number 1 running back in the state stats say he is number 9 with 1701 yards in 12 regular games for an average of 141.8 per game Blackman's running back number 6 with 2031 yards in 11 regular season games an average of 184.6 per game. Oakland beat Blackman 38 to nothing, And yes I think Oakland's defense will win the game for them with allowing only 4.8 points per game all season long counting the playoffs and scoring an average of 47.8.

Heard that many times over the years to. Oh they have not seen anything like the speed we have. Last game I was at in Whitehaven heard the same thing all week, but the last words I heard was, darn that kid (Whitehaven number7) has never been run down from behind as their season ended and Smyrna moved on to the finals. Sorry that was just the last game I was at in Whitehaven. You just might be saying the same thing about Oakland this year or you can hope they are slow. What a total of 68 points scored against them in 14 game and the do not play in a cupcake region.

If you got the offense to do that we will see. You guys only put up what 35 on Franklin this year and little ol weak Mt Juliet put up 42 on Franklin so we will see if yall are as great as you think you are? LOL Heck if I remember correctly I think even Wilson Central put up 35 points on Franklin.

By your reasoning Maryville beat Warren county 35 to 7 by 28 Oakland beat warren county 48 to 7 by 41, Maryville beat William Blount Oct 16th 42 to 0 by 42 Oakland beat William Blount Nov 6th 49 to 7 by 42 points. And as I was told on here you can not use common opponents and scores to rank teams. Example as I posted in a post earlier Riverdale beat Smyrna 49 to 3 at Smyrna two weeks before the playoffs started in 2006 and Smyrna beat Riverdale at Riverdale in the playoffs on it's way to Smyrna's first of two State Championships back to back. Yes Maryville is a GREAT TEAM and every team in the state dreams of having a program like Maryville's. Great team, Great coaches and Great FANS and until somebody is able to compete with Maryville year in and year out, Maryville will always be the big dogs and every team is looking to beat. So far it has been proven that nobody can compete with them year in and year out. My hat goes off to Maryville it is not easy to be as dominate year after year as they have. Any team with that record would be proud, and should be. We just have to believe we will beat them someday! If we don't believe we will never win.

I think this game is a toss up. Like Blaze45 said I would not bet a dollar on this game! If my memory serves me correctly I think Riverdale beat Smyrna at Smyrna in the regular season of the 2006 season, by the score of 49 to 3. And Smyrna beat Riverdale at Riverdale in the playoffs on their way to the first of their back to back state championships. So You Just Have to BELIEVE. Anything is possible!

LOL you got that right anyway!!!! We finally got the matchups in the playoffs we have wanted all along. Region 1 against region 2 head to head. So lets see Region 1 has won 3 out of 12 games in the 6A playoffs, and none that you were not expected to win. None where you were a lower seed playing a higher seed! And just in case you can not add that is 9 wins out of 12 games region 2 won. And yes we won several games where we were lower seeds playing a higher seed. So look who is laughing now! I think round 1 was a major #### whooping of region1 by region 2. Don't you? So who would you say is tougher region?

I agree well said Blaze45. If I remember last year the Maryville fans said how tough their region was, because they had more teams make it to round 2 then our region. I just laughed and said that was because we put each other out, like most years. Now that we got the playoff matchups we have always wanted. Region 1 against region 2 across the board. What happened LOL, 6 region 2 teams move on to round 2 and what the tough almighty region 1 has 2 out of 8 move on, because they played some competition in round 1 for a change. I did not see any, well maybe one game, region 2 won that was even close. The # 5 Riverdale against #4 Bradley Central was close and an away game for Riverdale which they WON. We even won 2 of 4 away games and won all our home games. All I got to say is, the next 3 weekly playoff games should be interesting.

Congrats to MARYVILLE on a great team VICTORY!!!! Great coaching again from one of the greatest high school football coaches in the country.Talking about class, just love the way the man coaches, watching him consoling and congratulating the Ravenwood players after the game shows he is as classy as they come. He always has a classy team of young men, win or lose, they learn life's lessons. They just do not lose often. RAVENWOOD CONGRATS on a GREAT SEASON, GREAT GAME!!!! It was a classic. I love getting under you Maryville fans skin, to be honest it is just jealousy. Who would not love to have your record!!!! CONGRATS again and see you next year.
