Porter made White House football relevant. It is asinine to have a discussion about a "White House Hall of Fame" without mentioning him. In no way is that belittling the players that played there. There have been many solid football players to play there.

The chances are better that the Cumberland River will go dry than Gordonsville and Carthage consolidating.

Is Trousdale as good as they have been? Probably not. Do they have a Seay, a T.C. Payne, a Dustin Dillehay, a Dewayne Harper, Reggie Harper, Michael Scruggs? No, no dominant player on this team (and many could be added). I'm sure Signal Mountain is gonna look like the favorite when they step off the bus. Just like Eddie Moore and South Pitt in 98, just like FRA and Jason Tomicheck in 90. Trousdale has the advantage for one simple reason. A small boy's dream. From the time these players were old enough to walk, they have known there place. On those sidelines, on that field. Playing in front of adoring fans, parents, classmates and friends. They have known this day would come, not wished and hoped, known. They don't hope or wish for success Friday night. It is expected. They know they are going to win.

Do Gordonsville fans really believe they have a good chance to win 1A? You beat Westmoreland in week one who, as I understand, had a freshman at QB, C, and G due to injuries and discipline issues. Also heard the new coach switched the offense back to the wing-t about 3 weeks before. Then, you go to Smith County and lose to a pretty good football team. Everyone knows Friendship is down considerably this year. None of these teams is close to being as good as South Pitt. Who is passing out the Kool Aid across the river????
