  1. i am not bad mouthing the coach. i am stating facts. we are always behind our girls and boys at o.c. i am just tired of every one thinking that he is this great coach, when it is actually the hard work and the heart of this team that wins. and just because we have lost 3 games is not why i think this. we have been saying this for the last 3 years, but some people dont seem to listen well.
  2. also, about the holding the ball comment.. in the coaches words.. they were told to spread out and slow it down. it was just a good thing that the other team only scored 3 points because we just scored 6 in the quarter.
  3. what i mean is that the coach has not made these girls better. they were already good. the junior high coaches gave these girls a great start. they have the hearts of winners and give it their all. i have seen this coach on many occations try to hold them back . he believes in the stalling the ball whether you are ahead or behind. these girls have always played a run and gun offense. lets just say that loosing has been a great adjustment for them. people watch him and think that he is a great coach. well, maybe he just has so much talent that he is doubly blessed. just any any of the girls on the team about his coaching if you really want to know the answer to your questions.
  4. the coach didnt tell them to stall the ball. he is just along for the ride
  5. I just hope that we get some fair calls, compete well, and play hard without any injuries.
  6. I listened to that game. Did that girl that fouled the 3 point shooter really say something to get a T? I have heard that she did say something.. but they didnt know exactly what she said.
  7. Obion County only has 2 out of 15 girls that play aau ball, Roney and Fussell. The rest of the team are pretty good without playing aau ball.
  8. where do i find the site or link from coacht to listen to the games?
  9. The Obion County Lady Rebels should be a team to bring it all to the court for the next 2 years, maybe longer. Go Rebs!!
  10. Congrats to the Lady Rebel basketball team!! They held their heads high and played like the great group of ladies they are. Just remember, alot of people are eating crow today.
  11. I dont post on here because I believe everyone is entitled to their way of thought. However, I have a girl that plays on the OC Lady Rebels, and I feel I need to say something to the remarks you made. First, contrary to alot of thinking by some people, basketball has become a full contact sport. The refs let alot more go on now. They are usually the reason that some games get out of control. It is, however, not all their fault. Every team has atleast one player that can just get out of control. But I dont think it is right to fault the entire team for the actions of one or two. My child has had her legs knocked out from under her, on purpose and several rounds of going to the e.r. for e-rays due to "hard play"; but like a true athelete.. you get up .. you make the fouls shots and you continue to play ball. As parents and fans you have to let the kids work it out, maybe with the help of good refs and coaches. But I do believe your remarks were childish and just plain stupid. And as far as being ashamed that we are part of the 13AA, well the same can be said about you.
  12. Obion County has 5 very good freshmen that play on the varsity squad. Leading off with Jana Roney, Gentry Reedy, Emily McGee, Whitney Williams and last but not least Bethany Butler. And the best thing is that these girls have grown up playing together. Central has a bright future for the next few years.
