  1. The Bears defensive line has been out sized by just about everyone in the Super 32 and region play this year. Still found ways to slow down the opposition enough to win in most cases. And particularly by DB's OL the last two years. I think we will put up a fight and make a game out of it.

  3. Standifer came in relieving Copeland a few plays then had to take over in the Hardin Valley game after Copeland reinjured the shoulder. Got his first start, at QB, last year against Maryville. Last year, Standifer started as JV QB, then showed up as a receiver against Cleveland, then came in to play WR and Punt when Howell went out then moved to QB when Copeland went down. Any way you look at it, he's been quite the competitor for the Bears.
  4. Yeah we are glutton's for punishment... We want Maryville again (way back in the day, when Baylor and Bradley competed in the public AAA class, a Baylor player once said, 'other teams are tough, but the toughest was the Bears... most teams have one or two that want to kill you... that whole team wants to kill you....' I like that rep hehheh) And yes, this will be a good one. Bradley is light on defense but fast and aggressive... Offense is able to do a lot of things. and if history repeats this will be a high scoring affair.
  5. I would not say the large rural county schools are bad. That is too strong of a statement. But they don't have the numbers of quality athletes that the schools in the large urban area schools tend to have. And that makes it tough on them to get to the top level.
  6. Yeah, it's frustrating to every fan I know to see that happening over and over. But it was still a great win for the Bears and Mullis ran like a man on fire. Standifer still shows what he is made of as a player, and did a great job of not letting that Interception affect him. In Coach Floyd's post game interview he took the blame for calling the play. Coach Floyd said he wanted his team to play with an edge and aggressively and unfortunately that is part of playing on that edge. I would just like a few less penalties for things we can avoid.
  7. My 2 cents worth.... It was rolling free and Jake dived on it, then the dogpile. Now no one really knows what happens in the dogpile, BUT the SH QB was no where near the ball when Jake dived on it. After that I honestly only know what the ref's called. Now I (as a fan) have been on both sides of those calls so....... Now I am sure the unsportsmanlike was called for something said. The coach coming on the field should have been a second, (seen our coach get them for that in years past). And I will be honest, the foul called on our sideline against SH after that, was not something I would have called based on what I saw. Other than that, I saw two very good teams going at it and it was a terrific game. In our two regions I would say that there is Maryville then then about 4 to 5 teams that can beat each other at any time.
  8. Well I see Quinn will be playing and from a purely selfish point... I a m going to say go (can't believe I am saying this) PootewaH...... Well I would rather play the rematch than travel to DB next week
  9. Go Blue Raiders..... Jones and Elder have not been shut down by anyone.... it's a matter of how much you can slow them down. Cleveland is playing very well recent weeks and this game is a close one to call. But I know the Raiders can get this win.
  10. Didn't know Wrestling season ever ended around here.....
  11. The last few weeks have been much better, but they gotta be even better at it now. Duct Tape those mouths.
  12. Wondered if anyone would catch that LOLOL
  13. Just going to the nitty gritty... Bradley Central wins it all.... (the homer in me made me do that) GO BEARS
  14. Did you not read the part where I said I saw your explanation and the fact that some rules are over done? I totally understand what you said.... I disagree with the rule and will tell that to the TSSAA as well. There are some things are stupid in their rules.... Such as hurtling a player because you have the athletic skill to do so because it is leading with your cleats. That was called on Bradley in a Nationally televised game against Cleveland and apparently Tennessee is in a very small minority in the rule. And EVERYONE who saw that play agrees it was a great athletic move. The Bradley player in this case was full body, did not go low, and made contact in such as way as not to lead with anything in such as way as to cause injury. The fact that It may have been a rule breaker by the definition does not change the fact that it was done about as cleanly as I have ever seen that occur.
  15. I have to agree.... Last time these two played it was a barn burner.
  16. Been a busy weekend, and gonna be a busy week ahead. Wanted to jump on and congratulate Maryville for the win. Looked over the comments about the ref's (Ditto on most of that) and other things about coaches and fans and such. Da Champs claims to be the biggest homer for the Bears around but I may rival him on that after 45 years of following the Bears everywhere they play. I agree with him on too many penalties for uncalled for things, and I am one of the first to say it when it's our fault. But then I have to agree on that crew, particularly the one on the Bear sideline, being horrible. I have never expect perfection by Ref's but some of what I saw Friday night.... sheessshh. Almost as bad as anything I have seen at McMinn County. The people removed from the sideline were just moved to the stands, but were coaches on other sports teams at Bradley giving that official the "business". Course I must say there were several mothers of players sitting around me that was giving that official the "business" rather loudly too. Big rule I have learned over the year's... Forget the Dad's, don't make the Mom mad.... Ref made the mom's mad on that one. On the blindside block the Bradley play came a long ways very quickly to make that block and it was about as clean a block as I have ever seen like that. Now I saw someone quote a rule about what was supposed to happen, but watching that play live right in front of me..... sorry that was a good block. Seen too many good plays penalized because of over regulation going too far the other way. Good Luck to the Rebs and the Bears next week. Maybe we can get the rematch in Round 3....
  17. Yeah and someone else is playing for a chance to travel.
  18. The Bears never go anywhere not believing they can and will win a game. My tag line says it all. Unlike some however I respect other teams. When the whistle blows for kickoff until the horn sounds at the end this fan cheers for his Bears, no matter what the score.
  19. Oh I appreciate that, but most likely not in the cards this trip. But I will wave.
  20. There is a reason I will just go to the Visitor's section and wave.
  21. Sheessh two different set of numbers in my mind. In my business we look at another source for data and wasn't thinking when I said population... My bad. The thing is we have had 3 High Schools here for many years. The only difference now is that one (Charleston now Walker Valley) was enlarged to handle the population growth here.
  22. Oh I understand perfectly well about the homers. The difference is I recognize quality and respect those who deserve respect for accomplishments
