The thing about a good passing game is actually getting to pass. I would put the scrambling ability and play making ability of Sycamores QB up against most. But, when your O-Line is overpowered they don't call it scrambling anymore. It's called running for your life and not much "play making" ever comes from that. The other side of that coin is with Potts at safety and healthy, I will take CC's chances at guarding the Grundy pass attack.

Offenses very seldom just "turn the ball over". There usually a very big defensive reason that a team has turn overs.

The Reynolds kid is now the starting QB for Navy. The first true freshman to start for Navy in twenty years. There are no words to describe the vast difference in these two players or IMO the vast difference between this year's team and last years.

Sycamore plays well for all four quarters, but, the fourth quarter seems to be their best. They don't seem to give up or get down. I have seen them win by 40+ points and I have seen them score twice in the last 1:58 seconds of the game to win. They have a QB that has thrown for 1300 yards two years in a row and he is a Junior playing in a typically "run first offense". They have a running back that has rushed for 1100 yards (also a Junior) and three others that are in the 450 to 600 yard range. With the adjustments made prior to the White House game to the defense, I think their defense rose to a notch above adequate. I really like their chances at moving on to round two. GO WAR EAGLES!!!

I have watched film on both teams and they are very different types of teams. I think its going to be a good match up and a great game. It should be fun to watch. I will difinitely be there. Sycamore pulls out a victory late in the fourth quarter.

This Goodpasture team is no where close to their past teams. CPA by at least three TDs.

Correction, White House was predicted to be 6-4. Thats why they play the games. White House lost Friday night to Sycamore (who is 7-3). White House is 5-5.

White House finished first in their District.

Think about it, which do think would be the better football game to listen to. By the way, Sycamore upset White House 25 - 18. It was a great game and I got to listen to it while I am away working 7 hours from home.

I think that they have one more thing to play for. The tremendous joy that it would bring many, many people for them to knock Goodpasture out of playoff contention. And I think they have it in them. I can't speak for all Sycamore fans, but, I'm sure I can for a majority of them. GO BOBCATS!

Sycamore has played them both and I honestly feel that the Cubs could come into the game flat and unfocused and still have plenty of time to recover and take of business. Not that their coach will let that happen. The Cubs are the real deal this year. Sycamore has not faced anyone to date that I don't think that the Cubs couldn't handle. The Cubs will win out. Score: Cubs - as much as they want vs. Creekwood - 0. GO CUBS!

There is a relatively "new comer" to the scene in Middle Tennessee. Last year was Coach Tyler Williams first season at Sycamore High School and the first year as a head coach. The year before, I think Sycamore went 3 - 7 and were pegged by most to go winless under Coach Williams for the first year. He went 6 -4 and took Sycamore back to the play offs. This year due to circumstances beyond his control he also took over the AD position and has the War Eagles at 5-2 as of this week. He is energetic, disciplined, great with the young men and has a great football history. He played for four years at UT, was a graduate assistant coach under a great coach at MTSU and an assistant coach for 2 years under a twenty year legend in Florida High School football. We will hear more from Coach Tyler Williams.

Gerry, Greenbrier stands at 2-4 with Macon Co, Lipscomb, Westmoreland and Goodpasture in their future. I see one more win if they play well. I don't think they will make it in. Sycamore stands at 4-1 with Westmoreland, Harpeth, Goodpasture, Ezell-Harding and Whitehouse left to play. I like their chances to make it.

And 5-1 on the season would be an outstanding start for the Sycamore War Eagles. I am pretty sure that this is the best start for our school's short history. Sycamore has had a few slow starts this year, but, have never quit and have kept on until the last tick. They have come up with a way to win in every game except Cheatham County Cubs and they are ranked #3 in the state for 3A. It is going to be a good game and Sycamore will find a way to win this one also. Sycamore - 21 Westmoreland - 14

I had heard that GP will not be at full strength until the month of October. Is there anyone out there that actually knows? If so, settle my curiousity.

I agree. This should be a great game. Sycamore's offense has started hitting on all cylinders and their defense has been playing well all year with the exception of the Cheatham game. I can see this one coming down to whoever scores last.

Okay, I can accept that. Not a thing to say from anyone. Hopefully both of these teams will have a lot more to say on the field than their fans. Here's to a hard fought, well played and injury free game. Good luck.

I agree. Last Friday they went into the game against Macon Co. flat and found out that Macon was a much better team than their win/loss record showed. Hopefully, this gave them a wakeup call and they will focus on the game and not the past record. Nothing is more hungry (with nothing to lose) than an 0 - 4 football team.

What do you think? Can Creekwood turn their ship around and come away from Sycamore with a victory?

Sounds like you heard about the Greenbrier - Sycamore finish a couple of weeks ago. Those two touchdowns within the last two minutes of the game were pretty exciting. It was actually one of the best final two minutes that I have seen.
