In Europe you dont have high school or university hardly its all club level stuff. I mean are we not headed that way? It feels like it at the college level how are big time programs (smaller ones in the future) truly needed to be attached to academic institutions except for tradition. Look at the best high school players half of them go to overtime elite or IMG academy type stuff. It will only get worse. Will be a club sport for most in 20 years prolly. I hate the way sports are moving. And look at pro level in many sports all moving into Saudi or major outside investors ownership hence copying the soccer model.

That Adamsville team had won 12 straight going into that championship game too lol Probably best they have it all separated more appropriately now (I would have only 5 public classifications if I was boss) but its definitely much easier now while saying it doesnt take away from the kids accomplishments

Yea thats a gauntlet. Good example. That 12’ and the 11’ FC squad were very good. I watched FC in 12’ beat Adamsville by 40 in the championship game. Lol

Anti recency bias is strong in you lol those teams weren’t that much better than today lol I remember when you had go through depending on the year goodpasture, Friendship christian, Lipscomb and whatever solid public almost always Alcoa and maybe Milan, Huntington, etc to win 2A before 10 years ago these boys are fortunate and get a much more fair shake. If you won 2A with just a bunch of local public school guys 20 years ago you had to be special.

Huge props to ER coaches for getting these guys in the right camps and getting them recognition because most these “power 5” guys for ER would look so average at top public and solid private programs.. If they enrolled at East Nashville, Alcoa, Pearl, Maryville, Oakland, Lipscomb, Baylor I could go on and on. They would look like average or slightly above.

Probably so. Right now easiest title game to get to out of all 9 id say but hard to win.

More yards, ypg, and td’s. Going against 3 guys on ER defense with Power 5 offers while dealing with a nagging injury all year. And did a great job at Linebacker stopping Isaiah many times. If I had to pick a player for my HS team Ill take #25 all day

Id say he is for sure 2A Mr. Football but wasnt the best RB or player on the field tonight when it mattered.

Good job Riverside. The ER boys didnt show out as usual against good comp as I predicted. ER coach put all the weight on a freshman QB who he barely let throw all year and his “power 5” athletes let him down and couldn’t get open or break many tackles. Either way great season by both teams. And if ER does right no reason they shouldn't be back to this game

Yup and Greenbrier played some of the best White House, Portland teams they ever had plus Fort campbell, Lipcomb etc

heck this is one of his better called games not points but trust me he hasnt thrown this much all year its usually HB dive 95% instead of 80% lol

not much in ER’s control but Roger Herndon and Tremaine might be all state records holder to this day if they played this ER schedule.

How is #25 Desmond Thomas has no offers hardly and Isaiah Groves has several SEC offers. I get hes got the numbers and is 1 year younger but seeing them both I cant tell you who is really better maybe slightly Groves.

First drive Upperman did exactly what the Homers said they could do just run it down ppl’s throat. Rain may help their strategy. Lets see if they can hold on defense and keep this up. Ill be eating crow if they do this all game lol

Not to start a thread on the topic but can you blame them the education and academic disparity between a metro (excluding a very few actual good magnets half of them aren't good either) school and a good private school is baffling and getting larger. If a player can get a better education I say go for it.

Lol clearly not the Upperman anybody is used to hence their first championship appearance but ive watched them vs Smith county. Ive watched Pearl several times and they look bigger and faster at almost every position doesn’t guarantee a win by any stretch but deffly helps. Head 2 head on Saturday we’ll see what happens. Would love to see Upperman upset just not likely but thats why they play the game.

I like Upperman and have enjoyed keeping up with their run and I hate to say it but this Pearl team isn't Macon or Smith county they dont have any weaknesses or holes they have size and speed at every position. IMO which has been known to be wrong lol they cant keep Pearl out of the endzone with big splash plays if even they have some success running the ball trying to control clock. 35-14 Pearl hoisting the gold ball.

I agree I dont think he is either thats why I said disregarding my argument of how talented some actually are because hes way more impressive in shorts and shirts than when the lights come on but 6’4’’ 210 and athletic as heck sells easily lol UK loses nothing if he doesnt develop the way they want he’ll get the boot and hit the transfer portal like alot of them do. 2 robco guys that went to SEC schools in last 2 years will never actually play at that level one is transferring and the other will be soon. Just the landscape of it right now and covid year didn’t help these young guys who got there.
