  1. I'm not sure where your getting your information but the school board, more specifically the School Board Director is who brought both Ross and McCurry in the mix to start with. The Principal and Athletic Director didn't want to fool with either one of them because of the obvious reasons mentions previously. They had a couple of in house guys that the administration wanted to go with and that got shot down by the Director. I don't know the Director nor anyone else on the school board but they have completely taken this hire out of the hands of the Principal/Athletic Director and continue to drag their feet which as we all know have put this program several weeks behind everyone else. I like everyone else also believe it will be either McCurry or Ross because those are the two guys the Director wants. No one else wants those fellows. Which makes no sense to me why the Director is so amendment about getting his guy in there when hes retiring in a couple months anyway, whats he care who gets the job?? So when people wander why some of these small towns do crazy things its because you have one person pulling the strings on every move and now your gonna force your school administration to work with a guy that they never wanted in the first place but rather is being forced on them. Small town politics at its best.
  2. Let me state the obvious. Of Course it is never cool for anyone to bash a kid or families and the moderators shouldn't allow it on here either. Shame on anyone who would do that. It would only take one father who loves their children to find out who some of these folks truly are behind these screen names and see them out and deal with it. There not gonna say I know you were just kidding before they handle business. To you, you were just playing around but to them there not gonna take it that way. Don't play with folks kids.
  3. Well for one if it is Wes and I have no idea nor do I care, they have been that way for years, ignore them. People are like that to get a rise our of someone and obviously its working. The reason, I mentioned anything at all is if you want to get back at Wes or who ever it is then keep it about who your dealing with. You brought another fellows personal business and spewing in all out on a public forum. Not cool. If me and you have issues then lets keep it between us!
  4. I realize that your trying to be funny, but this is taking things a little to far. Its sports forum, lets keep it about sports and leave peoples personal lives out of it. We are all accountable in Gods eyes for any wrong doings that we ALL have in our lives at some point. This is the wrong place and time for all that. Keep it classy guys.
  5. So I'm clear, who is indicating that some South Pitts kids may be transferring to the "Purple" team?? Maybe I am reading it wrong but that's what I take as being implied here??
  6. Sounds like who ever posted Coach Wagg's messages is a mole, and has unfortunately attempted to get the ones riding the fence as to who would be the best fit for the job to move their votes to the other candidate. This is starting to look like a bad rerun of our last high jacked election. Politics can be an evil thing boys, just remember your playing with a lot of folks livelihoods and kids futures. Good always wins in the end! We all know that right?
  7. I have never cared for the Power I personally but Dalton sure made it look good a couple years ago with that kid that's at Georgia Tech that started as a freshman. And if yall can get the off tackle power going I could see with yalls backs speed could be a good base play for ya.
  8. So your saying they are going to be in some form of Power I, Wing I, basically an I Formations coming downhill(Dive, Power, Toss, Counter) type stuff. Cant see the benefit of running east and west with kids the sizes you mentioned but if they still have that fast kid that sometimes played QB/RB then I could see them running some midline/Veer type stuff. Be interesting to see how it shakes out, I thought they did a decent job of getting outside last year, looks like they going to pound a little more inside this year.
  9. I can see why you would want to change Defenses if you have more depth at the line and having to replace 3 linebackers, so by going to an even front you basically now only have to replace 2 of the 3 so that makes sense, but you still have to have 5 offensive linemen regardless, so what type scheme are they thinking they are better suited for on offense?
  10. I do not know the fellow and since no one has mentioned where or if he has been coaching since his time at Grundy the first time, I would assume he has not been coaching. Maybe someone more familiar with the family could confirm.
  11. Interviews starting this week, but its believed to be smoke and mirrors as it appears they have settled in on the hometown boy who coached there in years past who led them to a couple 6 win seasons but you can confirm looking at previous years records.
  12. Sir, you seem to be one of the few realist of the bunch. Really appreciate your take on this and similar issues. At the end of the day right is right and wrong is wrong. I guess in some eye its only wrong if you get caught. But boy when that day comes like many have said no one wins. Honestly, I have never cared for South Pitt but I have respected the brand and winning tradition that they consistently bring to table. They found a winning formula that worked for them(legal or not) kids want to be part of a winner. My heart goes out to the young man in question and truly hope that the powers to be can figure out a way to get an appeal through successful to salvage this kids senior year.
  13. Sir, you probably don't know me but I might know you. So lets keep it classy and keep the name calling out of it if you don't mind. I'm just on here having fun like everyone else. No since in getting your blood pressure up, sometimes that's not good for old fellers health. But I will give you credit on your history, South Pitt has been the rare, extremely rare job that folks have walked away with good teams on the horizon. I just don't think with what recently has transpired with the negative publicity that your coaches retiring didn't have something to do with all this. Maybe Im wrong, want be the first time.
  14. Sounds like your in the know, school us so were all up to speed. I was just simply speculating on one possible scenario, key word being speculating. But which part am I not even close on?
  15. Anybody else starting to get the feeling that this thing is alot deeper and wider than has been exposed so far? Lets think about it......In reality "The Captain" takes an oath to be the last one off the ship if its sinking, I mean its your ship right? Think on that for a minute.... So when "The Captain" jumps ship during troubled times prior to everyone else getting off there is a hefty penalty to be paid. Boys good head coaches don't walk away from programs such as this because their tired, tired of what? Winning District Titles, making deep playoff runs, winning Silver and Gold Balls. Really come on folks. Maybe you get out when you know the cupboard is bare, so you parlay your name, resume, winning brand into a new start somewhere else, but we all know the Pirates are loaded with returning talent and probably a chance at another title run. I don't know a coach alive that walks away from that situation. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE! So whats the lesson here, maybe the Captain jumped ship as part of an agreement (sacrificial lamb) with the powers to be to try and save face for a lesser punishment on the program as a whole, save his good name and scoot on down the road in a year or two after the buzz has settled and land a pretty good job, say in Georgia at somewhere like a Ridgeland who if they have another down year will certainly be looking for someone to revive the program. Maybe nothing else will come about this paying rent for the less fortunate or maybe some folks will end up needing Attorneys to save their good names. Remains to be seen how involved it gets. At the end of the day kids are involved, so hopefully it all works out in the end in the kids favor.
  16. Some of you boys speak a little more freely than other on this site, so I am curious. I am assuming the Pirate faithful didn't turn their self in, maybe its already been stated but how did the TSSAA even find out about this little oversight by this good Samaritan within the Booster Club out doing a nobleman's work for those less fortunate? How would anyone outside the program have known about this incident to go use it again them in the first place? Kinda makes you wonder who within the program may not be pulling the rope the same direction.
  17. Brother, you ain't cutting them no slack are ya. lol Them boys hurting a little today and you kicking them while their down. lol
  18. Well first off, I'm not from Grundy County which the fellow in the last post assumed I was so I have no knowledge of the inter workings of how their system works or times lines or any of that and to be honest it doesn't appear that the ones that are running it know either, just an outsiders opinion. I am sure they are all nice people. I do however live close enough to the area to know a little bit about all the Southeast TN/North Ga teams and follow high school sports in general because I have had kids that have played and are currently playing. So I pull for all kids that have the drive to get off the couch and put them selves out there for any sport. As far as running for the school Board, from what everybody always says is that Grundy don't pay enough, so I doubt they could afford me. lol
  19. I realize there probably are some folks in the world that have had a second marriage to the same person be successful but realistically this never works. After everything that this school has been through in the last 15/20 years why in the world would anyone in that school system think that going backwards is the key to success? Does anyone on that school board have a clue about Football? Cause whether its the fellow mentioned above or someone else what are they waiting on. This program is light years behind and gonna take someone alot of time and effort to instill some pride back in them YellowJackets. The Administration/School Board needs to move asap before your better athletes come up with an exit strategy to go assist one of these neighboring schools.
  20. I don't know the man personally but based on his background/Resume (which is not gonna be topped by any other candidate applying for a Single A High School job doesn't get it, then it will only be because he changed his mind. Otherwise, who ever is making the hiring decision should be fired if he isn't hired. An honestly, what are they waiting on to make the decision. Background checks can be done in a couple days, that should be the only hold up. If it drags out more than a couple more days then it just becomes laughable really. I mean who else could you be vetting? Nick Saban's already gotta a pretty good gig, I don't think hes interested.
  21. Hey guys lets update where were at currently with this thread. Would be nice to get some opinion from Every Region throughout the state.
  22. Whats the story? Is he originally from there? From a outsider perspective this makes no sense. Who leaves a potential state title contender for a below average team? Somebody must have got their feelings hurt. Whats the scoop Pirate faithful?
