  1. Have heard one of the Asst. coaches at South Pittsburg has shown some interest in this job.
  2. Young Sir, it’s hard to be good or efficient when you have a defense with as much speed and nasty as the Pirates have draped all on you. No one was beating the defense the Pirates displayed throughout the year. It’s pretty obvious by your comments that you have no real concept of football. Some of the fans for McKenzie stated that the interception by the Pirates #10 was only the second interception he’s thrown all year. Evident that he hasn’t seen the kinda speed the Pirates presented across the board. Smaller spaces/tighter windows. This game would have been a mercy rule if their QB was fully healthy.
  3. If either of two South Pitt Asst. Coaches applied and pretty sure they did. If either of them didn’t make the cut then you may want to question your administrations ability to see talent. Cause after what I’ve seen this year them dudes can coach and scheme as good as any I've seen. Pretty evident they have the championship formula with the states best defense and just brought home a State Championship. May wanna get them boys on the phone pretty quick cause both them fellows will make great head coaches for someone.
  4. Which of these two teams match up better personnel and scheme wise against South Pittsburg? Curious as to thoughts on which match up better.
  5. Saw this job was open, not all that familiar with the program. Could this be an appealing job? Any athletes ? Community support? Pride in the program?
  6. Have really enjoyed keeping up with the Pirates through the years from a distance. I know enough about ball that it is obvious the hype around this years team is well deserved. There may have been a better team or two in SP history, but I can't ever recall the Pirates having a Defense this talented across the board, physical, fast and well coached. Seeing this group live I would compare them to some of the best Defenses I've seen anywhere around Chattanooga/N. Georgia in any division in 20 plus years of watching area teams play. Curious to see if this bunch can make it to Chattanooga. If they do this Defense will be the main reason in my opinion.
  7. Off topic here but I can see it coming down to Dresden and Moore Co. to advance. Curious to get yalls take on who would take that one and why you think it would turn out in either teams favor?
  8. Any post this fellow or lady post from now on cant be taken seriously after this post. People that don't know anything about football make these type post. Obviously you have not seen this SP team play at all. SP has owned Marion the last several times they did play and I assure you none of those teams compare to what the Pirates are putting on the field this year. Marion might keep it respectable but no way they would beat the Pirates this year.
  9. Sequatchie has only been at full strength for for the first couple of games. They have had a starter or multiple out with various injuries in every game since the opener and at least two starters that have been out the last 2/3 weeks with season ending injuries. The bad loss to Marion was the perfect storm for Marion, Sequatchie played over their heads the week before vs. South Pittsburg in a really good hard nosed game and sustained some injuries. Marion caught them coming off an emotional hard fought loss and with injuries so may not have changed the over all outcome but Sequatchie obviously wasn't the team that they have been the majority of year. I assure you Marion is not 45 points better than Sequatchie. Sequatchie beat Marion last year by 1 or 2 points. They are very comparable teams if fully stocked and healthy.
  10. Well then they probably need to start with that if they want to take Football seriously and compete at a high level. 3 or 4 guys will kill themselves managing a roster the size of a 3/4 A program. Not saying it can’t be done but it’s not a good situation.
  11. I would think with all that’s documented and brought to light any new Head Coach that comes in there would only be doing so with the agreement that it’s a totally clean slate and will have the freedom to hire the best possible candidates that fits his personality, philosophy, vision and schemes from the candidate pool of applicants. Let me add that the school board will have to support him if he decides to not retain anyone left on this staff unless he sees that through an interview that they are worth retaining. I realize it’s been a very bad situation currently but time has a way of healing and new blood can come in with a totally clean slate baring he isn’t bringing a QB in with him. Young coaches are always looking for opportunities to move up the ladder in responsibilities and goals so there will be plenty of interest in filling a new staff as long as the school system is willing to make sure there are at least 6-8 coaching positions for a school that size along with a new Head Man who is willing to work, cause no doubt he will have his hands full to get this catastrophe in order. It will take them a couple years at least to get things going in the right direction and get people bought in.
  12. Can’t blame this on lack of talent. Have y’all seen the kids they have on that roster? Some of the best looking kids around. I have been told it’s gonna be a house cleaning session sooner rather than later. And if that don’t happen look for Central, East Hamilton and the privates to provide a comfortable landing spot for several of those athletes that want a change.
  13. I’m curious as to why and how those that follow OS and Coalfield feel that this game is a 3 score advantage for Coalfield? Is it cause Coalfield usually win this game or is there specifics you can point out that they are just that much better at this point in the year? I’ve seen both teams play and just curious in your opinions why there is that much of a gap between these teams.
  14. I think the Ooltewah experiment with the young hometown coach has about ran its course and feel the administration has seen about enough at this point. They have too many good looking kids to be as bad as they have shown this year. Be interested to see how this plays out. Kids want to play for a competitive team, if there isn’t a change pretty quick I can see quite a few athletes ending up on other quality teams around Chattanooga.
  15. Obviously some on here know a little truth about the behind the scenes events that have taken place. So this question is for the legit insiders of the Sweetwater program . Guys when y’all vetted your applicants for the Head job, I find it hard to believe that questions about his family never came up? What I’m saying is the administration and powers to be knew when they hired him that his son would be coming with him right? I’m sure they had heard at some point that his son was a QB right? Stay with me. At this point in the hiring process with the administration fully aware that he was bringing his QB with him, obviously wasn’t a problem then so why did the administration not have this guys back through this process when they knew from day 1 what was going to happen! Is the administration that spineless to not support their guy that THEY hired?? Then to save face the administration says in the article that he wasn’t a good fit! Are you serious if that’s how your AD feels then he’s the one that needs to be replaced for not doing his job. Obviously the truths is in here somewhere, hopefully it will come out on who is shady and who isn’t.
  16. The Pirates will absolutely NOT play the young man if he’s not cleared by the TSSAA, that’s a given! I final decision is expected on his eligibility by tomorrow evening. All you grown folks spreading his personal business should be ashamed of your selves. As I read all this stuff it’s obvious that many of you have about half the truth on what’s really going on and how things have transpired to get everything to this point. The Pirates other 2 transfers have already been approved by the TSSAA and both have been a great addition to this years team, both filling positions of need vacated by a couple of last years Seniors. The Pirates are gonna be just fine either way, but hopefully the TSSAA now that the investigations have been completed and final decision pending will grant this young man his Senior year of eligibility cause he’s dealt with enough hardship for someone his age.
  17. Please stop it. Somebody trying to hear there named called. Boys y’all all knows it’s Creasy 15 times over.
  18. If you know me then shoot me a text, I may or may not be who you think I am but I’m right on the outskirts of Chattanooga maybe that will help ya.
  19. Awesome, Well that’s great to hear. With the tradition Jasper has they should consistently make the playoffs. Sounds like with all this wonderful talent that they have maybe they will make the playoffs this year. I always enjoyed catching deep playoff games in Jasper in the mid 90s. Hopefully they can get back to that. But if for some reason they don’t will it be that the coaching isn’t what they had hoped for or will it be cause all the talented kids got recruited by these big Privates and they jetted for the bright lights in the big city??
  20. Several interviews being held tomorrow but unless someone really impresses during the interview, I also feel that the In-house coach will get the nod.
  21. Either your not paying attention or a SP hater if you don't think their not many crying from jasper cause they are the only ones that even bring it up anymore, its old news. Time to let it go. Most folks that know the kids on each team, coaching staffs and common opponents would tell you real quick that the current state of the programs are not even close and based on the upcoming kids don't look like it will be close for the next several years, so its probably best that these two don't play for awhile although, I personally wish these two programs could get over what ever long standing issues they have between each other cause that game was a great series for the casual football fan that truly loves football around the Chattanooga area.
  22. Well I think we’ve all heard the possibilities for this next year for the Pirates. Several factors to consider. Outside of loosing their best over all player in the Mount kid, the tall receiver, two offensive linemen and their primary RB everyone is back which includes 3 of the 4 All State selections. The Mr. football candidate at QB, their do it all receiver/DB speedster and one of the best inside linebackers I’ve seen in awhile along with the tall rangy track star at outside linebacker and oh yea the 6’5 freshman that will be sophomore that every private school in the area is after already and let’s not forget the strongest freshman 300 pounder offensive lineman that’s probably one of the strongest freshman to ever go through that program couple all that with maybe the best current overall Freshman class and upcoming freshman classes that they’ve had along with Fayetteville moving up a class, Gordonsville graduating around 20 kids and McKenzie around the same. Unless someone’s putting a special group together out west the Pirates just might be as strong for the next 4 years as they’ve ever been. Nobody’s talking about it cause all the factors are well documented and obvious. And if they bring any new kids in then good luck to who ever they play cause it sure don’t look like they need much in additions to win it all.
  23. From what I’ve heard this should be one of the best teams to ever come through this school, would be curious as to if that’s an accurate statement. They must feel pretty confident putting the Pirates on their schedule right out the gate on game 1. The Pirates are loaded from what I’m hearing and if my source wasn’t pulling my chain have some of the best looking freshman collectively that has ever came through that program and that’s saying a lot.
