  1. With this new revelation from cbg, is Buddy Alexander on the HOT SEAT?
  2. Maybe BA should have their baseball coach take over the football program. He seems to be able to get more out of his players then most, and he certainly knows how to win big games and championships. Just saying...
  3. I believe you are refering to Chevis Hoover
  4. I hope BGA can beat McCallie this Friday night. If not, best of luck to the Owls!
  5. Fair enough owlbooster. A potential MUS/BGA match up is intriguing to me because the two teams have not yet played in the CJ Bethard era. BGA went to Memphis last year as a underdog and executed a very good game plan against a heavily favored #1 seed in CBHS. Personally, I have not seen any of the DII-AA teams from the west play this year and I don't ever speculate on a team I have not seen play with my own eyes based on scores from previous games, past seasons or common opponents. While BGA has not faired well against the big three out of the Middle/East, they have yet to put together a great game against a great opponent either. If MUS has a big offensive line and a couple of backs who can run like deer, then if BGA is fortunate enough to get by McCallie, and I stress that is a big IF, then I suspect you are right that MUS will be playing Ensworth again on November 18.
  6. So you're picking MUS over BGA without having seen BGA play. What's the difference? Before you go getting your panties in a wad, let's see BGA beat McCallie first. Enjoy your bye week. Nobody from the Middle/East is trying to disrespect MUS. You have a first class program and we all are aware of it.
  7. You could also consider that if BA had beaten Trinity then it would have helped them advance in the seating just as well. If BA had finished 9-1 just like Baylor and Ensworth, wouldn't a win over a 7-1 team have put them as the #1 seed over both Baylor and Ensworth based on the next two tie breakers after Head to Head? They should have just won the game. I am sure when it was scheduled they didn't agree to it believing they were going to lose. Not sure I would consider it punishment for losing to a team that BA scheduled to play on their home field. Sorry shakin, I know the punishemnt quote was not posted by you despite the fact that my attempt to reply to your reply ended up looking like that.
  8. I haven't seen Gouger from Baylor this year, but Shuler from BA has to be on the list of three.
  9. Two weeks ago it was poor officiating at home vs Baylor. Last week it was poor field maintenance at BGA. My prediction is that this week some BA fans will spend several days posting in this thread after the game complaining about poor access and parking conditions at Father Ryan...despite the fact that they put another sound defeat on their opponent. Good news for the first team though...while their backups are getting scored on during the fourth quarter...they can beat the crowd out of the stadium to savior their 4 or 5 touchdown margin of victory!
  10. If the field at BGA was as drenched as you claim...why aren't the players uniforms from either team covered in mud in the pictures that Sportshooter shared above? The turf looks chewed up, but to say the field was drenched would mean that it was saturated in water. The pictures don't seem to confirm that nor do the rushing yards that BA piled up. I don't understand why the BA fans are so troubled by this.
  11. While I don't post often, and I haven't been on these boards as long as KWoodroof and many others, I can say that in my short time reading the DII football threads that this is the most spot on single line in the thousands that I have read. Thanks for the laugh this morning KWood...I needed that!
  12. Wow is right! How in the world did this Ensworth team lose last week the way they did at Baylor? Did you play your 100% freshman defense the entire game? I don't think Ensworth broke a sweat last night. BGA was dominated in every facet of the game with the exception of wide eyed intimidation which showed up early and often. The only silver lining for BGA is that they did not play anywhere near to their capabilities. It's time for a gut check on Earnest Rice Lane.
  13. You can add Tight End and Kicker to this list as well.
  14. LOL! Bluemom gets my vote for quote of the week.
  15. In an attempt to get this thread back on topic, I am afraid it is not going to get any easier this week despite the fact that Pearl Cohn has two loses. They are an extremely physical team and will pound the ball continuously on the ground. The Big Red secondary better be ready to make several touchdown saving tackels because they will get past the D-Line and LB's on multiple occasions. One of their runners is a slasher and one is just plain nasty to bring down. They play smash mouth football, and if you are worried about MBA not being physical then this is a team you WON'T enjoy playing right now because they will leave no doubt that they are playing football, especially #16. If this is the week they figure out how not to shoot themselves in the foot with unecessary penalties it could be another long night in the stands watching for the Big Red faithful.
  16. Are you being sarcastic? If not, I think you are selling several very talented players from BGA down the river with this statement.
  17. Where is the game this year? In my opinion, Baylor is ripe to be upset. If the game is at McCallie I like the Blue Tornado by a score. If the game is at Baylor, well...
  18. I might be in the minority...but if I am Baylor, I would be dreading a rematch with Ensworth in the playoffs. Enjoy 'em while you can because in this league, establishing yourself as the team to beat often times turns out to be a curse.
  19. What the heck does it matter how long you have been around high school football? If his dad says he has a verbal offer why shouldn't we believe him. If the Louisville scouts saw him at a camp or just watched him play one game and saw things that they believe project him as a D1 quarterback for their system then it is not inconceivable to believe he has an offer. I don't know the kid, but it sounds like a big reason he has only played 5 games is because the JPII coach didn't recognize his talent. Both BA and Louisville did. Good for him!

    Nice call shakinthefat!

    MBA vs. BGA

All relevance aside, if MBA and BGA swapped schedules it would be MBA (4-1) and BGA (2-3) and BGA would have a 35-17 win over MBA.
