I know Eli is good. I know Cameron is good. But I don’t know why people keep throwing around the saying “Mr. Football” and “East West All Star game” like it has anything to do with who will win this game. The actual Mr. Football lost last week so I mean there’s proof that even the good ones can still lose. Just my opinion. Am I saying that the two guys at safety won’t have a good game? No, they more than likely will. But individual awards mean nothing at this stage. I wish both teams the best of luck but the winner of this game will be whoever has prepared the best, converts inside the red zone, and limits the big yardage plays. Not whoever has the most awards

Awards mean nothing, I agree and I'm totally against Mr. Football award now that they combined it but to the fact that if the best player in 1A plays on a team that has no other talent then they go totally unnoticed. But just take a minute and watch the execution of Cville's offensive line, they rank up there with some of those from UC a few years back, and yes I seen them many times, they will be the difference in the game

  2. All this talk about Cville not being as athletic as Whitwell is quiet funny. I hope cb10 is taking notes, he's going to have a field day Saturday night! I don't always bite in on this east vs West talent shift, I go by watching the boys play and I'm telling it like I see it and I've watched good teams for a long time now and Cville is every bit as good as advertised or I wouldn't have followed them all over West Tennessee watching them in the playoffs. No disrespect to y'all Whitwell fans but y'all might wanna check back a little

I will be shocked if this game is not over by halftime.  Cornersville getting beat by 21 last year doesn't mean anything.  Whitwell has beaten at least 4 teams that could beat Huntington.  Another silver ball will be heading down I-65 Saturday afternoon.

I'm not sure Huntingdon's not the second best team in the state as bad as I hate to admit it.

Y’all got that gold ball in 2011 which was really great. Yalls 2015 and 2016 teams were gold ball teams having to go up against once in a decade talented teams. Preston deserved a gold ball

I've always said our 08 and 09 teams were the best teams in WC history but can't argue with the 2011 since they got the gold. I have been blessed to have a son on every team from 07 until this year, which he's a senior so I'm done til the grandson gets up there, and have been part of the greatest years in WC football history, wouldn't trade those times for anything.

I think it would be very cool to see corn town bring a gold ball home. Prior to last season, Cornersville had only had one season above .500 in this century. Their improvement over the past few years is deserving of a gold ball

Anybody from our area that's been around Cville for a long time has to be proud and pulling for them and I know the people from Whitwell area feel the same about their boys. All jokes and smack talk aside, both these teams are well deserving to be playing Saturday and win or lose they're already champions with lots to be proud of. All these fans from LC, Huntingdon, Wayne Co, Huntland and so forth would love a silver ball at this point in the season and if they say different they're liars. Congratulations to both teams on making it this far and win or lose just leave it all on the field knowing y'all gave your best for four quarters. Nobody wants to lose this game but it won't take long for it to wear off and be proud to be the second best team in the state, I'd take second place in cookeville over the second round every year!

I doubt you ever see another lineman win one unless they bring back the lineman awards.   You know the skill positions get all the love, not the guys in the trenches.

I said that when they announced they was combining them, the award will never mean as much to me anymore, just a beauty contest now

Possibly so but this Whitwell team is way better than Cornersville’s team last year. Way more explosive. And all their key players are seniors. Cornersville’s were mainly juniors last year. Expect a good game. And you MUST rap up. Not just hit hard because they’ll bounce right off and continue on their way. Should be a good game. And they’ll try to hit ya with an over the top play about once a quarter. Winner will be whoever limits the big plays. GB drove it down their throat the whole night but couldn’t stop the big plays.

Cville's secondary will stay home and not bite in, they're as disciplined as they come

Whitwell a mirror image of Cornersville last year. Cornersville found a way to pull off some huge wins 3rd and 4th round games last year to be beat in the Ship. Just like Cornersville last year Whitwell had all four playoff games home this year. Luckily for Cornersville this year we have two huge playoff game wins away with two very good teams. Not to mention these Whitwell boys have never experienced playing in Cookeville which can't be coached. This being said Cornersville has a huge edge considering traveling and considering the DAWGS know what to expect in Cookeville.

I think they'll be a mirror image of Cville from last year after Saturday to

    Dude be quiet lmbo

    Whit- 3,31,20,7,4,15,59,55

    GB- 3,52,55, Twins, 63, 23,

    SP - 9,7,53,1,4, 5

that team would run cornersville into the ground

    @orngnblk @cherokee23 @TheAmbassador @Southtowner What y’all think

Just jerking chains, the post I replied to said Greenback, SP AND Whitwell would beat Cville, as if they were one. I'll slow my typing so y'all can keep up lol

With what Cornersville does on offense compared to Lake County. I would think a mud hole would be a big advantage to Cornersville.  Isn’t Lake County a spread team? I stick to my prediction. If Whitwell is held to less than 21 Cornersville wins. If Whitwell scores more than 21 Whitwell wins.

LC spreads the field but looks like they mainly run the ball out of that formation. I'm still not trying to talk LC down but they wasn't as good as I thought they would have been, but they are still young and I see them and Huntingdon playing in the semis next year. This Cville offensive line is something to watch, reminds me of a Union City coached team, they get off the ball quick and get to whom they're blocking quick. We all hear about the speed of the backs but it's the speed of Cville's lines that impressed me. Defensively the same, lots of tackles in the backfield and a lot of them are lineman tackling from behind

The difference is I said it would be a great game. Do you disagree that Cornersville needs to hold them to 21 or less to have a chance to win?

Bass I do disagree, I think from what I've been able to see on these teams Cville could score into the 30's on a dry field. Everybody is looking at the scores from Huntingdon and LC but can't take much from that, there was literally still snow on the carpet and LC was a mud hole. I have seen what their offense can do when dry and clicking
