I am totally biased (I live in Murfreesboro), but I hope they bring the games here. I agree though with the writer that the TSSAA should not have as many games running concurrently as they do. I take off a day of work (1st day of public competition) when the boys play in Spring Fling, but lament the fact that I can only see a few of them. However, there are some advantages, if one game gets ugly and out of reach, I can walk for one minute and watch another game. The fields are almost always in good shape. Although, the championship field goalie area has looked bad at times.

Any news on Riverdale QB injury situation?

Both are wildcards with same records. The 2nd tie breaker gets Sequoyah higher ranking over Gibbs.

This playoff system is full of scenarios. I think I found one, albeit unlikley, scenario where Red Bank could still make the playoffs. If Stratford defeats Lipscomb, but Pearl Cohn upsets CPA, then Jackson Central Merry defeats Jackson South Side, Red Bank may still sneak in. Unless of course, Lawrence Co. defeats Tullahoma. Got to love this system.

Thanks for the update. I had not seen the score. I guess we have come full circle then. I believe Red Bank will miss the playoffs then. The earlier post was correct. My apologies.

One additional point: I believe Red Bank will overtake Hillcrest in category four tiebreaker this week.

I think Red Bank still has a decent chance to get the last spot. Here is what they need (I am open to correction): First they need Jackson South Side to lose. And they need Raleigh-Egypt to lose. If South Side loses, they are out of contention. Red Bank needs Raleigh-Egypt to lose because of the number 2 tie-breaker. A Raleigh-Egypt win gives Hillcrest an additional point in category two tiebreaker.

It looks like in D16 AAA that East, Hamilton and White Station have a good chance to end the season 3-2 in conference play. East beat Hamilton. Hamilton defeated White Station. White Station defeated East. What is the second tiebreaker after head-to-head competition in district play?

My observations about Riverdale... 1. Riverdale is reflective of the entire D7 which is down a bit this year as a whole. 2. Riverdale has some key personnel out injured, some for the season. And they are not a deep team. See next point. 3. For a 6A school, Riverdale has too many players playing both ways. 4. And as far as the game against Blackman...you can't expect to win too many games with four turnovers. Blackman's defense played really disciplined football last night.

I was at the Riverdale vs. Maplewood game last night. For most of the game Maplewood held its own against Riverdale's run game. The one exception, I can remember was Odom's long run in the second half. However, Maplewood showed themselves to be really open to the passing game. They got burned for long receptions several times. The previous writer is correct. The issue for Maplewood, at least against a Top 5 6A team, was their offense. They passed a lot. Their QB has a rocket arm, and he made some really good throws. But he also was a little inconsistent too at times. But I will say this: Riverdale did not pressure him much at all the whole game. Maplewood, barring injuries, will be around come playoff time.

28-21 Greeneville coming back?

Congratualtions to CAK and Kingsbury teams. It was a good game to watch. Kingsbury came within inches of scoring the equalizing goal with less than a minute left. CAK was the better team. Their depth helped them a lot. Kingsbury looked fatigued in the 2nd half. Kingsbury's starters were very good, but the bench did not provide much. That being said, CAK played a one man down and still possessed the ball in the second half. I wish I could give kudos to all the fans, however there were many CAK fans who were exhibiting poor behavior. I never heard a referee yelled at as much as this one. I thought he officiated a good game. CAK played an aggressive style against Kingsbury. And on one occasion when a Kingsbury player went down after a huge collision, many of the fans berated him. I know Kingsbury feigned injury at times, but it was clear this kid got hit hard. I didn't have a dog in the hunt, but I was embarrassed because of what the C in CAK stands for. But again, kudos to the CAK soccer team. Clearly the best team won.

About a minute prior to the red card, he shoved a Kingsbury player. Then it appeared he took a cheap shot at another Kingsbury player. One CAK fan said he thought he saw him throw a punch. I did not see that. It looked like to me that he went after an ankle.

Congratulations to both Brentwood and Colliersville on a good championship game. Brentwood was deadly with set plays using their height. I loved watching Colliersville's goalie flying through the air to grab many of those balls. Kudos for both of the fan groups as well. I thought for the most part, they represented themselves well (at least from where I was sitting). I thought the game was officiated very well. One offsides was called against Colliersville early on a breakaway. He was not even close to being offsides. However, i'm not sure if it would have mattered, the goalie made the save.

Kingsbury vs. CAK should also be a good championship game as well, although some would disagree. I am going to pick Kingsbury to win this one. But again, good luck to both teams. I will enjoy watching both the championship games on Friday.

I think Brentwood vs. Colliersville should be a fantastic chapionship game. Colliersville absolutely dominated Bearden. Brentwood played better than Riverdale. I am going to pick Colliersville in the final. Good luck to both teams.
