  1. Like Peabody in a close one, Peabodys's defense gives them the edge in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised if UC gives Huntingdon some problems, GC could give Dresden some problems also, but their offense has to really be clicking to do that.
  2. Greenfield Dresden Huntingdon Peabody v. Gleason too close to call.
  3. This will be a very fun game to watch! 2 very good teams, 2 very good coaches! Can't wait to watch it, good luck to both teams!
  4. I tell you it will be one of he most competitive tournaments in years!! Any of the top 6 teams can win on any night. Peabody was up 16 two times last night in the first half then went ice cold, nothing fell. Threes, fths, layups and Humboldt got hot hitting everything. Humboldt isn't bad, I saw they beat South Fulton by almost 20 the night before. I wouldn't want to play Humboldt, Union City or Peabody anytime soon, especially in the first round of district. Any given night they can be really good. Only consistent team in this district is Greenfield right now. Should be fun.
  5. Peabody is playing some of the best basketball of any team around right now I think. Pressure wore Gibson Co down and Peabody's offense got to clicking. This is gonna be a fun post season with great games. Wouldn't call Greenfield beating Dresden an upset. Greenfield is very good!
  6. Big Win for Peabody over Gibson County last night. Gibson County couldn't handle Peabody's pressure. Great game!!
  7. That was a great game between 2 very good teams. Greenfield jumped out early on Peabody by 8-10 then Peabody went on their own run to go up 10 in the 2nd quarter. Some foul trouble by Peabody in the 2nd and Greenfield cut the lead to 4 at half time. Greenfield came out in the 3rd really strong I thought and took back the lead, up by 6-8, but in the 4th quarter Peabody got back into their press and caused Greenfield to turn it over several times. Peabody had chance after chance to tie the game or take the lead on fths after steals, but couldn't hit them. I think they missed 7-8 fths down 2 or 3 with under 4 minutes to go in the game. Was still a 2-3 pt game under 30 seconds and Peabody couldn't hit the fths again after steals. Greenfield eventually stepped up and knocked theirs down at the end of the game to seal it. #10 for Greenfield had a great game, scored the ball very well. Didn't see much out of Chloe, thought Peabody did a good job on her. Both these 2 teams are 2 of the best around. Peabody let a great chance slip away by not hitting their fths down the stretch, they usually make a decent percentage. Like to see these 2 in the District championship game. Peabody has definitely gotten better from the first meeting. Good job by both coaches, 2 of the best!
  8. Big game in 14-A tomorrow. #3 Peabody @ #1 Greenfield. The Lady Tide have now won 9 out of their last 10 games and seem to be playing better. Greenfield keeps rolling along, should be a great game! I'm going with the Lady Tide in this one to give Greenfield their first district loss of the season. 2 good teams either way.
  9. I wouldn't count Peabody out yet, seems like nobody was talking about them this time last year and they went on a run to play for a district championship. After a very tough opening schedule I see them putting it all together as the season moves on.
  10. Even before that with Henry co., Gleason and Dresden. Very tough out of district schedule.
  11. Peabody beat Lexington last night in Peabody's jamboree. Lexington had trouble handling Peabody's pressure. Huge crowd on hand. I know Peabody has beat Obion from 13-AA and Obion lost to Greenfield last night. I've seen Westview play and they are the real deal even without the pg right now.
  12. IDK about Milan, saw them play last weekend at UTM vs. USJ without Jones and their post player and USJ thumped them by 30+.

    13-AA

Disagree. Westview still clear favorite. Tasia will be back around Christmas/First year, but other players will take care of business till then. Too much size, speed and shooters.. 2-5 are open. 1 + 6 will be set. 1. Westview 2. Dyersburg 3. South Gibson 4. Milan 5. Crockett 6. Obion
  14. From watching her play in MS and a couple games this summer she had a lot of potential. Athletic, quick, got to the basket, guarded, shot was bad in MS but looked like it had already improved this summer. From what I hear though she had to move because her mother passed away at the beginning of school. I hate to hear that for the kid if it's true because she seemed like a good kid as well.
  15. Stacie Mayberry for sure at Peabody, prob best player in that district and one nobody has mentioned that is prob one of the best PG's in West TN, Maya Anderson at Peabody.
  16. How's your teams looking up there this year HCHSLadypats. I'm assuming your from Henry co.? I noticed that Peabody opens up in a HOF up at your place.
  17. Don't agree with that at all, Dresden and Peabody looked as good as Middleton the few times I saw them all play this summer. Middleton looks like they are missing the guard that graduated a lot right now. Don't get me wrong no team is head and shoulders above anyone right now, it's summer time!!! Greenfield will be in the mix but don't think they are better than Peabody or GC. It will all be close though. All three if these teams return most if their team from last year, only a couple graduates from each group, don't sleep on Union City either, their guards return I believe.
  18. I'll add that Union City and Peabody beat Dyersburg the last couple of weeks during the summer. 2nd place will be wide open in this district between SG, Dyersburg and Crockett.
  19. Very well said. The best coaches are the ones that do more with less talent every year. Talented players make terrible coaches look good.
  20. Oh agree, I said above that Greenfield will be in the mix, UC also. I don't think there is a dominant single A team but I do think Peabody is right there with Middleton and Dresden. So I guess single A is down in West TN, lol. A long way to go before season, Peabody has to improve a lot but right now they are ahead of the game like it or not. Very impressed with them from summer games I got to see and from what I hear being said about them. They keep improving like I think they will under Hart they will be tough to deal with like they were last season. Not counting anyone out though.
  21. Here we go again lol, when did you see Trenton get beat by 40 to Westview? Two times that I know they played this summer Trenton beat them once and lost once both in close games and not against the split up Westview teams. Peabody beat Dyer co by almost 30 earlier in the summer. Your correct though Peabody does have a lot of improving to do, but I think they are ahead if any other Single A team in the west right now including Middleton. I saw both of them play this past weekend at utm including Peabody beating Gleason by 12. Seasons a long way off though. I'm not counting Gibson out I still think they are a top 3 team in the district, it'll be a fun season to watch, a lot can happen. Gibson can win district again just like Peabody, Greenfield or I'll even throw in Union City. I just don't think right now Gibson is head and shoulders above anyone, heard they got beat badly in several games at MTSU including losing to some teams Peabody played and Peabody beat. Also was told they lost badly to USJ who is a tough team, just don't think they will be on the same level as last year. Don't be so sensitive lol.
  22. Could be, what I was told by someone very close to the program is that it's just a growing pain issue and she's fine. For Haywood's and the kids sake hope it's nothing serious. Very talented kid. What about Dyersburg? Saw them play a game last week and they look like they have really fallen off and not much in the freshmen group. Crockett didn't look great either vs. Peabody. Don't get to watch these teams that much.
