Tried of these cpa fans using the greater than thou approach to anyone making a point about whats fair & unfair! Go back to the Dyer Co vs cpa state tourney game thread 2008 here on coacht. Their is 55 pages on that thread where alot of these same jokers were crying about the clock operator, refs, & getting that but sent home! Fbgirl, cpaforever/sportsnerd, matt LOL!

Its alot easier on your side to say this. 1st off race needs to be left out. 2nd. Do you think you would complain if you were forced to play on a national schedule? Play against teams like the ones that gave you your two loses night in & night out. You would complain. And speaking of crying unfair, your coach sure sets a great example of that positive energy when he complains every call that doesnt go his way. And watch the video every foul called on his players they open their mouth & hold their hands out. Good example he set that has rubbed off. If you say thats not true, uh you my freind are a liar! Nice representation of a christian school!

Something has to be done about the privates, open zoned, & magnet schools in TN. AA has been taken over by these with the unfair advantage! Look at the last few years. East lit, liberty tech, cpa...memphis teams can go wherever & seem to stack teams.

Im not crazy about naming names when it comes to kids but kodger just asked a question that had been brought up way earlier by poeple more familiar with the situation. Some of us outsiders are curious. Alot have been said about this program & its not all jealousy. So he isnt the one that originally named the kid. If you go to a controversial school then get ready to be under the microscope!

Mccoin is also a great quarterback, made allstate as a playmaker. Has full ride to Tn Tech. Would definetly help their basketball program! It needs it!

Blackwell is older than LA's Eldridge who is a soph.

problem was, they weren't the best two this year. Jss didn't even give them a game. LA was the 2nd best team this year!

Wow, I didn't realize how good Ramsey was but 23/14/6 & 38% from 3pt range is impressive! Not flashy but definetly Mr. Basketball in my book!

West tn cant beat the allstar team from middle tn! tennessee select is state champs in aa & I call a three peat

I like Howell but from playing Dekalb 3 times & LA twice. I would definetly take Mccoin over Howell & Eldridge seemed to have the best post moves in district aside from Ramsey with Jones being close.

Melton will probably be out but region brings in different refs so the reaching in by sonni & atnip will result in them being out as well! We will gladly meet again!

Can anybody say WOODSHED! LA whooped DC like they stole something. I thought Atnip has been dominant over Ramsey according to all the Dekalb faithful. Anytime Atnip got the ball inside he passed or got eat up. Soph Eldridge owned the glass & Ramsey had his way with anyone guarded him. Mccoin showed what he is capable of & fullilove was missing everything badly until his last few shots. Phillips, Roller, Zoolander all shot several airballs & yall want to throw the one player that showed the most heart under the bus lol! Martin is too hot headed & so are the players, they need to regain their composure & take care of signal mtn.

If the refs let all the boys play like they allowed atnip & sonni play tonight, fouls wont be a problem. Ive never seen so much standing & reaching when a player goes by, without fouls being called. If Ramsey is allowed to play the way they did, then the only feeding that Atnip will recieve is the ball back down his throat when he shoots!

I predict LA taking title game by 15+ & upperman over Cannon by 10+. I was impressed with Cannon's resilience but they just dont have the guns. I dont see how Dekalb beat LA! Seems LA is just on a different level. But that may be due to their experince & history. Seems like their boys & girls team can take it to a different level in tourney. Without Howell, Dekalb cant handle LA's pressure. I do beleive Cannon can handle Bledsoe to complete the 8AA SWEEP!

No doubt this has been a fun season! Seems like the most balanced the district has been in a long time. But I think the balance is from the top 3 teams being weaker rather than the bottom being stronger. Dont get me wrong, its a good district but I dont think we have any team that can make noise in State.

Congrats Mason! I believe he is the 3rd player in LA mens basketball history to crack the 2000pt plateau. Not bad company Mason Ramsey, Chase Dunn, & Richard Melton!

LOL! You take a good player off a mediocre team & of course that team will miss them more than a good player on a good team. So that philosophy doesn't work, nor the philosophy of the best team having mvp. I think if you looked at starting a team & had your pick of any of these girls, the one that you would start your team with should be your vote for mvp. I would start my team with sissom!

Not sure about York? I thought they would be pretty decent this year. They are young & have some size but have under acheived. I have noticed they have improved.

Hate to hear about Howell. He plays hard & deserves a chance to reap the benefits. Now what seemed to be a for sure Dekalb season title may not happen. I dont think dekalb will beat LA or Baxter without Howell. Cannon will look to pounce at home. Welcome to the top guys! Everyone brings their A games when your there! Wish speedy recovery for Howell!

David played at Whites Crk. He was obviously good but there are players playing now in high school better than he was. Kid from Dyer co better. Hes not even the best from mid tn. Ron Mercer & Alex Poythress were both better.

Congrats Upperman on convincing win! Ramsey dropped 30 to finish of a scrappy Cannon Co & topped it off with a big slam. Gonna be a good tourney!

This thread is about awards & standings so it hasnt gotten out of hand. Everyone has made good points & that is the purpose of the board. I knew Dekalb would be tough this year & admit they are even better than I expected them to be. I also beleive LA is better than theyve been last 3 years. Record doesn't show it but just my opinion so that says alot about both teams with Upperman very close. I think this is the best chance we have had in a long time to send two to state. Mcminn central could be #1 seed from the other region, #2 from our region would have a hard time winning at the roundhouse or chattanooga but I beleive we can do it this year. Not overlooking district 7aa though. As for physical play, I dont whine about it cause I like it! But you cant let the inside get so physical & then call so many body checking fouls on the guards. LA started 4th quarter 6 fouls to 2 with 4 of those being called on guards bumping the ballhandler. Shoot let em all play! Its coach Millers responsibility to say go inside to Ramsey & Eldridge & force the contact to get Atnip & Sonni in foul trouble. I dont think they can guard our post & bench is guard heavy as is ours.

Guys dont take my statements as disrespect. Atnip does a great job using what he has. Alot of good players have had good careers as cleaning up the trash & quite frankly every team would be lucky to have one. What if mean by no skillset is he hasnt showed back to the basket moves that makes him a 1st option.Most the time he is positioning for the offensive rebound hence trash. But true center doesn't exist anymore. The game has changed & you gotta be at least 6' 9 to be the old "true center" & have drop step, jump hook, turn around,....skill set.
