Its pretty simple why west greene has been in the game at all with greeneville for two years greeneville plays the most important game of the regular season the week before wg. They put alot of time and energy into it. Its easy for players to be excited playing Alcoa and tn high they put so much emotion into that game and the next week they have to come out and play a team they know they will beat that's tough for a high school player to get excited for. It also starts the portion of the schedule were the players know thier done til the playoffs and there were several other teams that played greeneville better than wg. Jeff co, south, fulton, maplewood all did. With that being said im sure sg and cd fans could care less about greeneville and wg so let's not ramble on about something that doesn't matter anyway this is probably the biggest game of the year for both teams I've seen them both and I believe it could go either way I think it will be very important to sg to get ahead early if they want a shot to win they seem to get tired in the 4th with little depth cd may have a slightly better team but it will be whoever doesn't turnover the ball that wins

You must have played close to when I did we had about ten guys that benched 300 plus and about all of them squatting over 400 also. Crosby benched 405 and squatted 700 plus but he was one in a million. If you were to take our top 5 to 10 guys and compare them to now we would be stronger without a doubt but I believe the big difference is now that it is a total team effort where before you had guys that would make themselves work hard and get in the weight room but after those top few guys you had a pretty steep drop off and now ballard has the whole team in there. I would rather have 25 pretty strong guys than just 5 or 10 real strong guys. That also helps the current team not have to play alot of guys both ways.

I thought this was a Greeneville and Claiborne thread not a let's debate about the difference in city and county. I know there is not much too talk about with this game but come on. Does anyone remember how this time two years ago heading into this game Claiborne was like eighth in 4a and the idiots on prep extra in the knox paper like rick russo picked them to beat greeneville

You didn't mention the fact that some of the other teams are the worst they have been in years or ever example cloudland and claborine . Ng has no doubt improved some and I really like their coach I have known him for years but they picked a great year to do it with the rest of their district struggling except hampton .

I heard a interesting fact on greene co teams heading into the playoffs. No greene co team has beaten a team with a winning record all year other than each other. The only teams played with a winning record beat them very badly. I thought that was interesting im not down playing any of their seasons but it does definitely give them something to prove first round. West greene should get a very favorable game first round so they should have a good shot at round two. Good luck to all of them now is a great chance for them to prove something.

I believe it depends on how the other district shakes out . There are a couple different scenarios that can happen Gatlinburg pitt needs to win to get in for sure but I don't think they will if they lose and ae loses then I believe gp is out. In that case I think AE will come to quad one and south greene becomes the eight seed. If gp or ae wins then I think gp is in and they will be the eight seed so south greene will be seven im a little fuzzy on all of it maybe someone from gp could answer it a little better.

I agree that there is no need to jump everyones threads but in this case no one from greeneville had anything to say to Lexington until some Lexington people made a thread on how it was a joke that greeneville was number one in ap instead of them and how they were a real program not greeneville so if they didn't want anyone from greeneville to say anything then they shouldn't have started running their mouth

There may not even be a BRAC after next year so it will depend on what tssaa does so it is impossible at this point to tell and I would say that they could beat any BRAC team by 80 if they really wanted too they beat them by 40 plus in two quarters with little effort.

No use in trash talking about a game that may not even happen we don't want to start sounding like signal mt yes it would be fun to see these teams match up again but for now it is best to leave it alone and see what happens quads can still shift alot at this point quad 2 especially both teams have paid their dues and deserve respect the only thing we know for sure at this point is that long as the devils take care of business whoever they play has to come to greeneville where the devils haven't lost a game since sept 2009 and haven't lost a home playoff game since 4th round in 2008 against maryville

So let me get this straight greeneville sucks they have a really soft schedule and when a real program gets in front of them they'll get creamed. Well here are some interesting facts for you first that soft schedule you speak of Since we are in week eight Greeneville's opponents records 34-22 Lexington's opponents records 20-37 Greeneville's schedule strength rank is 24th while Lexington's is 99th Lexington has only played two teams with a winning record Lexington has won three games by only a touchdown one of which to a terrible team And as far a real program I guess you have never heard Alcoa and their 12 state championships there is at least three teams on Greeneville's schedule that would beat Lexington so go ahead and keep dreaming you wont even make it by a three loss maplewood team if they go quad three

I respectfully disagree in 4a they would most likely find themselves playing a knox fulton, red bank, or even greeneville first round and on an average year I would much rather play besty or happy valley. If they go back five leagues and they continue to grow they could find themselves in much tougher regular season games.

Its a four year deal so we got one more after this year and then I believe you can expect some major changes there is a good chance tssaa will consider going back to five divisions instead of six if this happens it effect local teams greatly putting wg and cd most likely in 3a and sg would be 2a for greeneville it will be decision time to go 3 or 4 but either way things will change big in my opinion because there are alot of schools statewide very unhappy with the current system it was supposed to cut down on travel but for many it has done the opposite.
