  1. MP's homecoming. Does MP win in big fashion or does Cornersville keep it a game? Thoughts?
  2. Good game CC. You guys have a well rounded team. Stats said so and you proved the stats to be true. Goood luck the rest of the season. MP, I guess it don't matter if your a run game one man show or a well balanced pass/run one man show. It looked as though tonight, as in the years past, all your eggs are still in one basket. And if that one egg breaks, seems as though the rest does too. Something ain't working. A clue maybe can be found in looking as though run teams have beaten you, and all the passing your banking on in offensive plays ain't helping you win either. Just my opinion. Tigerfan told me just trust the coaches. Well I sure ain't gonna blame the kids.
  3. Guess Cascade needs to do some more adjusting. But then again, I guess MP needs to also. MP got their rears handed to them tonight too.
  4. I will take a little ketchup to go along with the fries and steak,,,,,,,rflmao. Thanks for asking for it,,,,, Just love it when I'm right. Don't ya just hate it when your wrong,,,,lol.
  5. I definitely have not seen Cheatham Co. play so all I figured some of us would have to go on is stats to in the least get a feel for what they do. First question though is who is CC's QB? #8 or #11? I noticed both have been in that posistion. CC's record in three games so far is the same as MP. (1-2) With CC winning last week against Montgomery Central 49-14. Losing first two games to Fairview 26-12 and Sycamore High 22-13 In all 3 games combined stats are. Rushing 107 carries for 553 yards for 5 TD's. #11 the work horse with 45 carries 1 TD #24 with 31 carries 1 TD #30 with 16 carries 3 TD's Passing 25 attempts with 13 completions for 243 yards for 5 TD's only throwing 2 int. #8, #11, #44 being some of the main go to guys but a few others in the mix as well. Looking as though CC is mainly a running team with some pass capabilities, it's just when they do throw it usually means throwing for a TD. Roughly half of their completions went for TD's. No defensive stats found or reported. Looks to be yet another good team MP has to face. CC seems to have several to get the ball to. Should get interesting.
  6. Yeah, figured it was my doin's. Wireless communication not fast enough for me I guess. Wasn't doing nothing when I clicked add reply first time, so I clicked it a time or two more till it did. Thanks for the advice Butchie.
  7. Sorry. Not sure how that triple post happened.
  8. Not assuming cause we all know it can make something out of U and ME. I said previously in the other post that I didn't know whether Cascade has improved or not. You just said they did. Fine. I just said MP had greatly improved since that Cascade game too and that the improved MP team got beat by WC. Now are you to assume WC will not adjust and get better?? I still take WC by 2 TD's. Sorry if that steps on some toes. I could very well eat that, but I don't think so.
  9. Absolutely wrong. #1 for MP threw those passes not because of Cascade making him, but rather cause he was coached to do what the play called for. And he was coached to try and throw 27 pass plays that game. With 18 of them being dropped or badly thrown. I will give you this much. There were several oppurtunities Cascade flushed MP's QB and he had the chance to run in open field but he did as coached by the play call, and threw the ball, but to no avail. Those 18 failed attempts of missed passes/wasted downs went a long way in helping Cascade. Sure wasn't helping MP a bit. Glad he's making better decisions now. Not trying to rehash that game out here. Just defending my analysis.
  10. In the video, can you not clearly see #67 coming up the middle taking only one step over the goal line right at hitting #1? Putting him at the 1 yard line at impact. Cause I sure can. #1 went up and over him reaching for the goal. Princeton is over 6 foot with a 2 1/2 to 3 foot arm reach. Do the math. 1 yard line = 3 feet from goal plain. #1 gets hit in the waist while jumping up and over #67 outstrecthing 3 feet of his body over the back of the defender with another 2 1/2 to 3 feet arm stretch = TD. It really is that simple. Ref blew it. It's alright though. Not trying to argue neither. Just saying. Again let's remember the WC fans was posting on here how bad the officiating was. All I was doing was agreeing with them.
  11. Totally agree. Wasn't really complaining though I did a good job sounding like it. Just continuing on with the WC fans griping about the Refs. Two good teams. Either deserved the W. It's just almost always with a tight, good game as such, leave it up to the officials to muck it up. Just MP fans had more to grip about than WC did is really all I was getting at. From a MP fan to the WC faithfull, same to ya, great team and good luck rest of the year.
  12. No one should dis-service themselves comparing the MP/Cas game with the MP/WC game. Not in the least. MP went a long way in helping Cascade win that game GIVING away downs/yardage/td's in first game jitters trying to pass the ball with no success going 9 of 26 attempts and rushing only 24 for 104. Cascade didn't have to contain #1, he contained himself by just throwing the ball. Cascade only putting up 22 points against a MP defense that didn't find themselves until the SH game. And Cascade only beat that miserable MP performance by 8.. Versus this past game against WC. A totally better MP showed up to battle against WC with MP throwing 27 times completing 20 of them and rushing 28 for 145 yds. Getting yards and TD's almost every possession. Cascade may have improved. That I don't know. But MP did, and I say WC wins by 2 TD's.
  13. Well let me get in on the coversation on the WC fans saying the refs were screwing the game up. Ya'll right. They were and did. But not any of the sixty yards ya'll got penalized for had not one reflection on the outcome of this game. Those calls did not stop one td WC tried putting on the board. Not one of those calls reflected against what WC could nor could't stop MP from doing when MP was on offense. But one call, the final call, reflected against the out come of the game and it didn't hurt WC. But it flat out screwed MP and costed them a hard faught and well deserved win. Let me be clear to say that I am not saying WC didn't deserve it neither. WC faught just as hard. But I will say the officials screwed up in not calling that a TD for MP. Because it flat out was. I was at the goal line at the fence with some friends and seen #1's arms reach past the goal line. His body didn't but the ball crossed and broke the plain. Now with that said, go to that video posted on youtube and stop and start in slow motion starting at 19 seconds. You will see #67 for WC the MLB take only one step over the goal line before hitting #1 to stop him. #1 for MP goes up and over him reaching the ball over him into the endzone. Now look in the video to the right of the play you will see #4 for WC coming in the play with his right foot on the goal line. For depth perception, you can clearly see in the video #1's arms are a lot futher away from the camera's view point than #4 for WC is. Clearly a TD for MP that was never called right. The video backs up exactly what we seen. Now as far as I know in HS ball it is the same as in pro. Only the ball has to break the plain. If so, then it was clearly a TD with MP deserving the win. If it is not as in the pro's, and forward progress is declared and marked where the upper torso of the body is stopped, then the Ref made the right call marking it down a few inches of the goal line clearly showed by the side judge in the video. Where he places his foot showing his call is where #1's forward progress was stopped, body wise,,,,,But half #1's arm's along with the ball's forward progress was over the goal line. Period. So ya'll go ahead and keep saying the refs done some horrible officiating. Cause I agree with ya 100%. It just costed MP the game, not WC. So I really don't understand why ya'll are complaining? This game is what it was. A darn hard faught game by two very good teams with someone having to lose. It's just the wrong team lost not due to any thing they nor WC did, but definitely cause of the officials. Any one see any thing different in that video, point it out. I want to see it. Shep, puke factor was a 10 all the way home as it was in those 1-2 point losses a few years ago between MP and JB in the playoffs. I know you know what I mean. Oh yea. With MP getting that TD at the end instead of not. Then I would have called this game right on the money in my pre-game prediction of saying MP in an upset winning by two points with #1 being the factor. So I'm peeved about that too.
  14. Wasn't meaning if WC could keep MP's passing game in check. Was meaning if MP would keep pass play calling in check. As I saw in the Cascade game, a lot of downs can be wasted if passes aren't being caught but yet the pass plays are still being called. MP definitely has a run game in my opinion. The passing game? Verdict not in yet for sure on that one. Not beating up on pass plays. I can understand the plays being called for. Just needs to come together. MP gets it together on the dropped balls or missed oppurtunities. MP will be very tough to beat. MP can definitely keep an opposing team guessing on just who's gonna actually get the ball though.
  15. After last weeks game, I say that MP has just a good a shot at winning this one as WC does. MP was outsized against SH, but they were absolutely not out manned. MP flat out got after the balll in that game. Defense held it's ground time after time, caused fumbles and got an interception. MP's defense really suprised me. 11 boys after that ball I'm telling ya. MP's offense kept the pasing a little down, just about right in my opinion to keep SH's defense honest. Best of all MP's QB looked as though to be getting better at knowing when to take the open field oppurtunities and just going with it. MP's offense just looks like it has a lot of options open to it if plays are executed well, and if they are not, #1 will just burn you with a run. So of course I'll take MP in the upset by 2 or 6 points. #1 making wise choices again will prove to be the difference in this one and if MP's passing is kept in check. MP's defense also gottta play like last week to combat that veer WC has or I'll eat these words.
  16. MP comes out slinging the ball around for nothing other than wasting downs like last week 9/26? Then SH wins this one like Cascade did last week. Cascade didn't have that great a running game and still put up 3 td's. Spring Hill has about the same if not a liittle better running game than Cascade. So will MP throw for a bunch of incompletions again? Or will MP turn their weapon loose? MP has a good back in their QB that can get yardage per down instead of wasting them, probly even for td's , with his feet. He's got a good arm, kinda accurate, but gotta have somebody catching them. As of last game, that ain't happening. Sorry, but practice shouldn't be happening during game time. Win with what works or lose to gain practice. Last week it looked like MP was practicing. I hope this week MP comes to win. I like wholders comment. The team who can run the ball wins.
  17. Not that great of a game. Both teams looked weak on both sides of the ball. First game of the season so we'll have to expect that much. Score could've went im MP's favor for a win if MP's QB would have taken open field oppurtunities to run with it but instead of trowing for incompletions. We'll have to see what Smith can do now coaching a team not so loaded with talent. Some talent there with the MP QB but he looks to be coached to throw more than run. Looks as though coach wants to get away from what worked with the Dailey kid a few years ago. A good running team will beat both these teams handily. Let alone passing.
