Who knows we may get the crap stomped out of us again but I think we already/hoepfully got that out of our system against Signal Mtn. Should be a great atmosphere and game

Huntingdon and South Pitt seems like the best two teams so far to me. I havent seen film or anything on them but I have been told they are pretty nasty and we will have our hands full if we make it to Cookeville. For everybody thats saying they havent been there well thats not true. Maybe not in 1A but they have been right there in the thick of things for years in 2A. Seems like when I played they had a guy named Shaka Hill or something crazy that played runningback that was as big as a horse. They have had alot of big time players come out of there for sure. I for one wasnt happy to see them come down to 1A but atleast they are in the West. South Pitt has to one get healthier and two get past a VERY good Gordonsville to even make it to Cookeville. I tend to agree with some that they are quietly not being talked about and they are a very solid team capable of beating anyone in 1A

After reading through 39 pages and half junk. Its obvious not many SP fans have alot of confidence in this game. After last weeks Boyd game Im starting to believe this team can do great things. Maybe Im drinking the good stuff but I just think this years game is SP's to lose. This is a statement game for our players. I think Polk is going to be a little over confident after last years thrashing and we are playing some of our best ball yet. Stinks we dont have our full team but we might as well get used to it because its our theme this year. Tonights game is power VS speed. I just dont think Polk is as good as last years team without that QB. I also think this is a big game tonight not only for Lankford/Johnson but also in my opinion for Jake. I can only hope he steps up to the challange when called upon. If we are going to continue to sling it then hopefully we can start hitting a few more big plays. However its obvious that we have to run the ball successfully and pound them back to win but it wouldnt suprise me if they send the house every play and gamble so we have to make them pay if they do. This a big time game in the Chattanooga area. Does anyone know of it's the game of the week? I think SP makes another statement this Friday. Losing Matt Allen really hurts us on offense and defense but hopefully Michael will be a little better and getting back 15 will be a huge upgrade for our passing game. I agree with most and will say that if SP plays their best they win by 2-3 TDs. Hopefully both teams stay injury free this Friday. Especially SP which would be the first time in a while.

Things just keep getting worse for the Pirates. Injuries are killing this team. We had several others out this week because of just being sick. This season has been unlike any I can remember in the past 15-20 years I can remember. Hope Jujuan can keep it up and Jake and Matt can keep making a few plays through the air or this one will be another loss. We need to get everyone back ASAP. Boyd will be tough next week at the swamp and we will need every weapon we have

What was final??

Offensive came out clicking better than last week. Jake missed a few big plays that he has to learn to make in the big games. All in all SP had a pretty good game. Lankford continues to impress and made a sweet run after gettin nailed in backfield and spinning out of it to take it to the house. Chubb had a couple special runs after a catch as well. Allen set tone on the opening kickoff and we never looked back. Defense continues to play stellar. Next week is another big test and should be a tougher game for us

In 99 having 20 Sr's def helped. We improved a great deal from on year to the next. We had been close once before and let it slip through our hands and worked harder as a TEAM than in 98. We were not as deep or as talented overall but we played together better and quieted many critics and half the town along with probably you that year that said we couldnt win it all. We won it all because we had HEART, overcame adversity and never quit. Yes Thomas Payne was better than Sanders but you have to understand we made Payne's entire 98 highlight tape that night. If you recall on the films we watched prior to that game he hadnt performed anywhere close to what he did that night. Although it does help when your running through massive holes with nobody around. Couple of bad angles and 2 carries for 150 yards later and the ballgame was changed entirely. Btw yes the defense we ran in 99 wouldve made a "HUGE" difference had we ran it the year before. 98 will always hurt everyone involved. 99 for those involved will always be sweet revenge and help heal some of the sting. Sorry you wasnt around. Nothing more to talk about Back to the topic Hale put the entire team on his back at times last year and did as much as anyone thats ever came through the school in one season. He belongs on a looong list of great ones. Robinson and Jones are up there as well. Moore, Pickett, Mitchell and Tipton all from the 90's are in that elite group too

Lots of tention in this thread. I would have to agree and take Eddie over Eric but Im biased since I played with one. Both were two of the best ever around here. I think they both would score 3-4 times on this years team but 40 points would be alot. If I had the 98 team to go with Moore I would say yes. TrainTracks what was your number since we played together? Lol I think I mightve TrainTracked you once haha

Just curious as to how the East Ridge game went. It was much closer than I thought it would be. Did the Bucs have some turnovers to keep it close or was it a dogfight like the score indicated?

After years of missing out on the fun I have finally decided to get on CoachT...I think SP wins this one easier than some think. Lookout Valley has some speed but not much size and very little depth. I think with us playing alot of guys just one way will show up bigtime. Im thinking around the same score as last week as long as we slow down there main back.
