  1. I have no clue about any team other than 1 or 2 outside of east TN. Purely a guess based on the way the name rolled off my tongue. In fact, I would have to go back and look to see what FCS stands for. Early congrats on you making better picks than me.
  2. Sounds fun, Ill give it a shot to get it started. Oneida 31-14 Oliver Springs 28-7 Jackson Co 21-14 Rockwood 28-14 Cascade 28-13 Houston 21-20 Dresden 35-14 BTW 35-7
  3. I don't doubt your knowledge. Nor was I trying to ruffle feathers. Also, it would help my team if you are right. I just knew I had heard different. Also, I would have never even looked at quad 3, but I found it interesting of the potential of teams to win 1 game and host under this system. Looks like you invest a lot of time, and anyone trying to do good and make the site better and high school football, I applaud.
  4. Ok you got me. That still doesn't explain quad 2, if they are "projected" or not. Unless you are "projecting" N green AND Rockwood loses games they are both favored to win.
  5. From a credible source. Also if you watch the video explaining how seeds are given, if you finish top two in your district you are given a "priority seeding". Rockwood is actually 3rd in their district, but TSSAA is looking at GCA like they do not exist this year. Moving Rockwood to a second place finish. They and North Green would be the only other first or second finishers besides Hampton, thus Rockwood would get the 2nd seed with a better resume. Giving N Green a 3 seed and then they would fall in order.
  6. Quad 3 is interesting as well. As of now, Riverside, who will be 4-6 if they beat a winless district team, would get a bye in the first round because no one else will finish in the top two in their district. If TSSAA is going to use this ranking system, you might as well throw out their little formula. Just take records and then use tiebreakers for seeding after top two get their seedings. It is also possible that a 1-9 team could get in for finishing second in their district at 1-3 and if their quad leaves no other top two finishers in their district they would play at home and possibly even get a bye. Fun stuff
  7. Quad 1 is a mess right now. The seeding would actually be if it ended today. Hampton-bye Rockwood-bye 3)North Green hosts 6)Cosby 4)Oliver Springs hosts 5) Oneida The 1st and 2nd place district teams take precedent in seedings. With Grace DQd, Rockwood moves up to #2. North Green would finish 2nd also in district giving them the 3rd seed. Then it would go by ranking putting OS, Oneida, Cosby 4,5, and 6. This also would create two regular season rematches in the first round which doesnt seem right either. This would give Rockwood a favorable path to the quarter-finals, after beating one team with 5 wins. Hope it doesn't go like this but I am afraid so if everyone wins Friday.
  8. Anyone predicting this game based on the Oliver Springs score, or Coalfield scores for that matter are in for a surprise. With that said, askme's prediction is absurd as well (as usual). I believe Oneida is the better all around team, but they are playing bad and Sunbright is playing great. I expect this to be a great game and if Oneida can get their running game going and keep the pass in front of them they should get a W. However, if they havent fixed their leaks in the pass defense it will be a long night. You have to find a way to get pressure on England. It is difficult because he gets rid of it fast and scrambles well when he needs to. Both defenses have a couple of kids that can dominate in the box. The pressure is on Oneida as I think the Tigers play at home in the playoffs no matter what. Both teams have some kids that can boot the ball as well. Tough game to call but I think Oneida finds a way to win.
  9. Smash, you already know your not going to get any favors tonight from the guys in stripes. Just hope your guys play through it. That score against Jellico shouldnt mean a whole lot, and if Oneida is ready, it should be a win. Good luck!
  10. 1.OS 2.Oneida 3.Coalfield 4.Sunbright 5.Wartburg 6.Oakdale 7.Jellico Just my opinion, and I am taking OS 24-12 in a tough ballgame Friday.
  11. Of course they are a team to watch. They have Coach Leeman on their staff!
  12. Anyone care to weigh in on this one? This is a huge game for both teams, and when you throw in that its a big rivalry game, it should be fun to watch. Who do you like and why. OS comes in at 2-2 with wins over Oakdale and Sweetwater. Coalfield is 3-1 with wins over Tellico, Sunbright, and Cloudland. Coalfield won last years game 20-0.
  13. Congrats to Greenback on the win. The score shocks me. I hear and have confirmed that Greenback had a lot of penalties and turnovers in the first half. Also, I hear that Seymour wasnt or was barely used in the first half. Can this be confirmed and if so why? I look for Greenback to go 9-1 this year only losing to Grace. They have a great team and should be poised for a nice playoff run.
  14. While Oliver Springs defense bent, they didnt break. Offensively, they controlled the line of scrimmage. An impressive win for OS. Huge game against Coalfield next week. Should be fun.
  15. You are spot on about this rivalry and how tough that region was!! It was for sure hard hitting as well as I took and gave many of those (prob took more than I gave). If both teams come to play I think this is a great game, but I got to with my Cats. OS 31 SW 27
  16. I agree, Russo prob just saw Oakdale at 1-1 and OS at 0-2, but any motivation is great right now for the Cats. I think that the line in Vegas would be 28 or 30 and OS would cover.
  17. I don't know about a "cool" night, but it should be a lot of throwing. Hate I have to miss this one. More so than that, I hate picking Coalfield to win, but I think they get it done in an competitive game.
  18. Ive seen both of these teams play this year. Greenback rushes for as much as they want to leading to an easy win. Tellico has the ability to move the ball, but can't make big plays and couldn't convert in the red zone. As far as the Seymour situation. My thoughts go out to everyone in the community. May God Bless!!
  19. Cats get their fist win of the season in a big way.
  20. Greenback is playing great right now. They should win this one easily.
  21. With Coach Leeman on the sidelines of Eagleville it will be tough
