Dang Swo.....Wish our poor lil' town had the funds for the trips your boys go on. Looks like ya'll could have at least found some good competition if you're going that far to play. Dresden needs to find some supporters with the deep pockets of you UC folks. You know we've got to give you a hard time Swo.

I know of a couple freshman that played at Martin at some point that are now at Dresden as well as the senior you're talking about. Westview is very young. Most of their skilled players are sophomores & won a state championship in middle school. Seems to me that the new head coach might play a part as well. Still no definite quarter back to get the kids in a groove of playing together. After watching my Lions play Milan in the jamboree & Westview in week 0, I expect Milan to win big over Martin. Running clock 2nd half.

I don't recall anyone getting injured during the game for us. I'm only aware of the one you're speaking of being out.

Completely agree with Swo. I'd rather not even be ranked & have something to prove week in & week out. Our players have to stay humble & can't get cocky because cockiness will keep you out of Cookeville. Rang has got to get control of the penalties & those more concerned about me rather than the team before we get to the playoffs or it will cost us in the big games. Go Lions!

Dresser or "Little Peanut" as you referred to him has announced that he doesn't plan to play college football. His focus is on baseball. Good to see college recruiters at small schools giving these guys a look & not overlooking them based on the size of our schools. Best of luck to Brawner.

Just what I figured. Middleton fans wouldn't get back on here & congratulate GC & give them & our Region the credit they deserve. Middleton turned the ball over because of the defensive pressure by GC. Same for GC's poor shooting. Great pressure under the basket by Middleton. Middleton has had an amazing few years & have deserved all that has come its way. You all have made high school girls basketball history. Now it's time to commend Gibson County on their run & give them the credit. It's amazing how a neutral court can change the game. Go get that gold ball today Gibson County. I know you'll represent our Region well.

What makes you say GC is all alone & then there's a major drop off? Dresden played GC twice & both were won in the last seconds in OT by GC. Bradford & Peabody also played them very close. I'd say 14A basketball is doing ok & we have a good team in Gibson County representing us.

You're right Dresden was outmatched...8 on the court against 5. You'd think they'd built a championship team a decent gym. Never in my life have I been to a gym where you're told you have to sit down & can't cheer all because the home fans are taking up half of the visitor side & can't see. Talk about a home cooking. I also hope your child doesn't have to end their HS career like that & have grown adults cheering & waving bye when they're visibly upset. Good luck to you in the Boro. I typically just post on Dresden football threads but thought I'd jump in here. As we found out last year, beating Middleton will be a tall task. Dresden pretty much has the same players as last year so I feel like playing Middletom at home last year will help them. Maybe they won't be shell shocked playing there again this year. Not sure where you got your info but I've never heard anyone describe the Lady Lions as BIG & SLOW. One thing about Dresden is there is no one star player so you have to match up with all 5 because they can all be a threat. I'm hoping for a good game.

Like it or not, maybe because we're also trying to teach these boys life lessons. Personally I teach my kids that if you do things the right way & stay on the right track good things will come. What hurt more than anything else is to see a kid that has been in trouble numerous times be rewarded for it. I truly do hope he has learned from his previous mistakes & put all these juvenile antics behind him & will succeed in life.
