Oh boy.....here comes the "recruiting" card. Just go ahead and believe what you want....It just makes you look silly to say things like "We all know Maryville recruits...". I assume you have solid proof of this? You must, or else you wouldn't come onto a public forum and make such allegations.

Don't be so quick to label KnoxReb as a Maryville fan. I don't know for certain that he/she is or not, but there are many schools in Knoxville and surrounding areas that have "Rebels" as their mascot.

#29 for the Rebels is a special DB. He had a pick-six last week when he jumped a quick out route. He got a jump on the same route just a couple plays later and just couldn't hold onto the ball....He seems to be one of those players that is always around the ball, and he will flat take your head off if given the opportunity. He is one of my favorite players to watch this year.

I hear that LC has a linebacker that is supposed to be pretty good. Last name is West? What's he like?

So......The only reason Maryville has success is they play a bunch of teams from the middle of nowhere....Their competition (especially in the play-offs) sucks.....WOW! I'm pretty sure that Smyrna appreciates you saying that they suck. I bet that White Station appreciates you saying that they suck (wait....that must mean that Maryville sucks cuz White Station beat them). I think that Maryville will be shaking in their shoes if Riverdale beats Oak Ridge, and if Maryville is lucky enough to advance thru the sucky teams on their side of the bracket. Man, if a 7AAA school gets to come show their muscles in the Black Hole.....maybe GQ and staff should just call the TSSAA and forfiet. There is just no way that they can muster up the courage to face the mighty 7AAA!

Actually......it's against the TSSAA's rules for the PA announcer to cheer for one team or the other. The rules state that they are supposed to be nuetral over the speakers. I don't know how a lot of these announcers get away with it. I know the Oak Ridge PA man personally (I assume that Guy is still doing it, I haven't been to a game this year) and he always did a great job.

I was really trying to keep from responding to your obvious ignorance of history, but I can no longer keep to myself. There is another flag in this country that slavery was practiced under for a lot longer than the Confedrate Battle Flag (and yes.....that's all it is. I don't care what some hate groups have bastardized it into). It just so happens to be the flag that we all stand and put our hands over our hearts and sing the national anthem to before every game. Yep.....the old Stars and Stripes herself. The flag of our beautiful nation. So.....should we stop flying that flag too? It might offend some descendants of some indentured servants of the early settlers.. The young "African American" at the game Friday night did not seem to be too "uncomfortable" waving his Rebel Flag.....hmmmmm Carl Stewart was an incredible athlete at Maryville High School, and has every God given right to not like the flag, and what he interprets it to mean. That is a right guaranteed to him by our great nation. But, that gives you absolutely NO right to use his name to tell us how the majority feel about it.
