And there are two things I never joke about, death and Jefferson County football. Dumplin Valley has been quite long enough and It is time regain what we once had.

Was it stupid when Appy State thought they would beat #2 ranked Michigan, or just last week when Arizona thought they could beat USC. The game of football is all about momemntum and match ups and Jefferson County has a lot of momentum and they match up perfectly with Sevier County and even better with DB or Bearden. I am just warning the masses of what is about to happen.

Malachi had the game of his life and we will not make the same mistake with foreham as we did with Malachi. Jefferson County has one of the best defenses around and just had an all around bad night against Mo West. Just one of those nights where everything goes against you and everything goes for the other team. It is hard to win in Morristown with all that home cooking you know. Anyway, I am not sure that Foreham is as good as Malachi anyway, he is faster but not sure he can run as hard. I know I sound crazy but I just feel like this is Jefferson Countys year and I hope we go to Kingsport and beat DB in J. Floyd stadium just because we need to break that curse. We might have a home game next week though, hope the grass stays green becuause Jefferson Countys stadium would be awesome for a second round game. Yipper Skipper you heard it from the Zipper

I know Jefferson County has not beaten too many teams with great records, but their conference has them primed and ready for the playoffs. They just shut out a team that was going to be district runner up if they won. And I meant DB 's one -two punch could not penetrate the Jefferson County defense (we all have typos every now and then). Football is not about who you have beaten and how much nearly as much as it is about how one team matches up against another team. Jefferson County will match up really well with DB becasue Jefferson County has fast kids too. Maybe not quite as fast as Foreham but close. Jefferson County will not have any problems with Sevier County either, just like the first game, our defense will shut the Bear offense down and #4, #5, #15 will run wild. Plus #5 was very banged up in that first SC game and he is a beast. And DB only beat SC by 30, not 40. Jefferson County beat Tennessee High just about as badly as DB did. You all are not giving Jefferson County enough credit. They have a very solid defense and a one-two-three punch in the backfield with #4, #5, #15. It is very hard to stop a three headed monster even if they cannot throw that well. As far as DB, I am not sure their one-two punch can penetrate the Jefferson County defense. Hope it is DB and Jefferson County so the Patriots can be the team to make the DB faithful here on coacht grip and complain. Jefferson County can and will beat DB if they get the chance and if DB takes care of Bearden, it will happen and it will happen at J. Floyd stadium in Kingsport

I know this sounds crazy to some people but here is how I see the 2nd round. DB will put up one heck of a fight and this game will go to the wire but I think Bearden will win this one in the final 2 minutes. On the other side, Jefferson County should have beaten Sevier County the first time around but their defense decided to take one series off and it just so happened to be the last series of the game. I see Jefferson County going to Sevier County with a chip on their shoulder and pulling off the upset. Not really an upset in Jefferson Countys mind but as far as seedings go. Just think, a 6 v 7 match-up...it is like march madness in november. The other two playing next week will be Maryville and Science Hill. I think three of the top four teams in this "quad of death" will be done in week one. Maybe I am crazy but that is how I see it.

I certianly agree that this is way foolish to even think of DB being on the road in round 1. I personally think they will handle SH with ease and be a 2 seed. But even if they lose to SH, I still think they will be a 4 seed hosting a round 1 game.

According to an article on CoachT, DB will be a 6 seed in quad 1 and travel bck to SC for a round 1 game. I guess the writer thinks that DB will lose to SH. Not sure how he thinks that will bump DB to a 6 seed or even why he thinks SH will beat DB. Pretty interesting article though.

According to an article in middle Tennessee that is on CoachT, DB will be a 6 seed in Quad 1. I guess they think SH will beat DB and put DB on the road in the first round against SC. I do not know where this writer gets his info but I am not sure DB will fall that far even if they did lose to SH...not saying that I think DB will lose to SH anyway.

To all sevier county fans: please do not get on here and trash talk about this game. DB is a very good football team with a lot of weapons...so is Sevier County. While the game itself should be a great one, do not take away from all the hard work both teams and coaching staffs have put into this entire season. Trash talk makes the entire community look bad so please refrain. Have fun on here, just please keep it classy. The way Coach Brewer would want it.

I figured if someone was going to put the "If Riverdale plays Maryville and Mt. Juliet plays Whitehaven" thread up, someone should put this one up as well seeing that all eight teams involved haved worked just as hard to get to this point. I know this scenario is much less likely to happen and I have to admit I just put this thread on here in light-hearted fun (so please do not get your undies in a wade). However, to have three #7 seeds and a #3 seed in the semi-finals would be rather interesting for the ole T$$AA boys.

Sorry to disagree, but the Travis kid is no where near a 4.4. I have watched him twice this year against A-E and Fulton and I know the 40 times of some of their kids. The A-E and Fulton kids that have 40 times of 4.6 or 4.7 were quite a bit faster than Travis. He is good so I mean no ill will toward the PF people but I just call it like I see it. I have heard that Lee is cousins with Dan but I also heard they are nothing alike. My buddy here in knoxville knows both of them and says that they are total opposites as far as attitude and x's and o's. Not sure exactly what that means but that is just what he said. Greenville has been very successful the last few years so that has not helped Lee yet. Maybe this is the year though. I know nothing of CD and I must admit I only know what I saw in those two games.

Red81, I will agree with you on the SC v East game and the MW v Seymour game. However, I think that Cherokee will come out firing this week and I am not sure CC has a answer. SC apparently threw the ball all over CC and Cherokee is much the same as SC. Cherokee wins I also think the posters in the JC lockerrooms have already been changed to 2012. I hated to hear that they played very flat in wake of thier former teammate passing but I think they have called off the dogs and pissed on the fire. Playoffs or no playoffs, I think the JC squad has just faced too much adversity this season and they are ready to move on.

I cannot believe that no one has started a thread about this intercounty rivalry yet. I mean come on, this years game actually has implications to it and not one fan from either team wants to talk about it. I know PF fans do not usually a lot to talk about during this week but surely the GP fans are not shying away from discussing the game against little brother PF. Lets hear what the outcome of this backyard brawl will be.

I am not sure how this kid fits in this type of company...maybe he does not fit in at all, but Cullen Lavoi from Sevier County has close to if not over 2000 yards passing, close to 500 yards rushing, has thrown 25 or 26 touchdowns and only 4 or 5 interceptions. Sorry my numbers are not exact, I just get my stats from the paper and I am not always confident that they are accurate. Good QB though

I definitely think this has the potential to be a marque game of the year. It has two totally different styles of offense facing off against two similar styles of defense. The high flying passing attack of SC versus the in you face grind it out offense of MW. I think both defenses pride themselves on flying to the football and they both have good d-coordinators that do a good job of scheming to stop what they other team does best. If MW brings their A game and SC brings their A game, who knows. But neither team will have the luxury of playing flat at any time of the game and still be able to win. For this reason, I give the edge to SC because they have played pretty even all year while MW has been up and down. Just playing the odds. However, Cap1, everytime you post on this site you just make me laugh because I keep thinking about Will Ferrell saying "that's just dumb." So thank you cap1 for lifting my spirits with your post, you are one funny dude.
