  1. I think Siegel would like to see this game in the 80's. They have been doing it all year and I don't think Ridgeway is more talented. Jason Jones is better than anyone Siegel has and Carter is tough, but after that, Siegel has the most talent.
  2. I would take Antioch in this game, but oh wait, Siuegel crushed them, so I guess i will say siegel by 3.
  3. Interesting comment about Cutter. The PG who led his team to victory over a team who had not been beaten by ant team in the state. He shot 6 times all game. Led the team in scoring and led his team to victory. Many people in the stands including college coaches were raving about his passing. Someone is clueless and I beleive I call that a "Facial"! Go Siegel and Cutter!
  4. Didn't mean to offend you. I am actually very high on him. My post was meant to paint the picture that he could have gone to a "more" competiitve conference - as you mentioned in your next paragraph - like the SEC. He is good enough to play at that level. His shot is fine and I don't think him going to Northeastern had as much to do with that as it had to do with timing and possibly AAU experience. Even though the Mavericks did extremely well in the Super Showcase in Orlando his last year in AAU, I think he would have received moe exposure had he played with a more recognized team. This last year's Maverick's team - even with Jurick who signed with UT - was not well thought of on the circuit. Jurick wasn't even the best player on the team, but they still couldn't get respect.
  5. You drew a tough first round match up. They have 2 top notch players and have some decent other athletes. This should be a good game.
  6. He played every position execpt post and could have done that. he played more of a true PG position when he ws a Sophomore. I am surprised he ended up at Northeastern. He could have gone to a more competitive conference, but it looks like he is doing just fine.
  7. I agree that Tyrone is a special player and is the main reason Clarksville made it to the state finals last year and the reason they are back. It takes a team to win games, but it takes a leader like Mr. Caldwell to make an average team good or a good team great. Unfortunately for Clarksville, they don't have the horses to stay with teams like Antioch -who by the way- has a very good PG as well. I don't know all the teams, but am familiar with 5 of the PGs and to tell you the truth, they can all play. Joe Jackson, White Station - May just be the best of them all as only a Sophomore Tyler Cutter, Siegel - Just as valuable to his team as Caldwell is to his. Supporting cast is young, but very talented and he makes them tick Upton - Antioch has great talent, but without Kyle, they would not be my favorite to win. Stephens -Oak Ridge - He and Dowdell make a lethal combination Caldwell, Clarksville - Enough said. He is the real deal and we all know it. Can someone fill me in on PGs for Ridgeway, DB abd Red Bank?
  8. My prediction for next year: 1. Siegel - (They need a PG to make a run at state again, but their talent will carry them pretty far) 2. Cookeville (Hill, Akers, Courier, Hennigan) 3. Oakland (King is the best coach - hands down and will always be clsoe to the top) 4. White County (Pucket will be the MVP) 5. Blackman - (Need to find a shooter) 6. Riverdale - (May surprise) 7. Lebanon - (Best returning guard in Smith) 8. Warren County - (They will not even come close to winning a game in the district. They better schedule a lot of small schools, if they want to get a few W's) Best Returning Players in order 1. Puckett, White County 2. Hammonds, Siegel 3. Xavier Smith, Lebanon 4. Tyler Edwards, Oakland 5. Akers, Cookeville 6. Stewart Mitchell, White County 7. Lee, Riverdale 8. Gooch, Siegel 9. Hill, Cookeville 10. Courier, Cookeville 11. Tate, Siegel 12. T.J. Mitchell, Siegel
  9. Best thing to ever happen to Antioch was Crowder leaving. He was a jerk and let his players get way out of hand. They now have a good coach who will probably win state. I don't think anybody other than Ridgeway and maybe White Station has a chance.
  10. Antioch is the most talented team in the tournament. Wilson Central is not a bad high school team. Anybody know if Upton is being recruited? He is definitely good enough. I know Wells could go big time if he was eligible and McAdoo could play D-I, if he were not playing D-I football. Williams can shoot the rock. Who can match up with them? Ridgeway and White Station are the only two teams with a chance.
  11. I like the blind draw. This is a high school tournament. AP polls are not always that accurate anyway. The blind draw makes it interesting and potentially gives more opportunity to see the underdog win. I agree that it should have already benn done -on Monday!
  12. Is Stovall going to play ball in college?
  13. Same old story. Antioch has the most talent - by far. Franklin plays bettr team ball. This one will come down to the wire. Antioch has primarily seniors carrying the load and Franklin has Juniors. Unfortunately for Antioch, Franklin's Juniors have better chemistry and can hit free throws at the end of a tight game. I am going with Franklin.
  14. I didn't really base it on head to head match ups, because you never know who is sick, injured, etc. Plus, basketball is a game of momentum and some games things just don't fall your way. You have to look past individual games and look at the whole season. I based my ranking on skill, athleticism, coaching, players who can take over the game, etc. Shelbyville has the type of players that will step it up in crunch time because they can flat out play and are very athletic. By the way, the last time Shelbyville played Tullahoma, they beat them by 22. White County beat them by 1 in OT. So, based on your rationale, I guess you would say Shelbyville is 21 points better than White County? I thinnk not! Or, look at White County versus Blackman. Blackman beat White county by 20 and Shelbyville beat Balckman by 15. Does that mean Shelbyville is 35 points better than White County? I actually think White County and Shelbyville will go down to the wire if they play in the finals, but neither team is guaranteed to make it to the the finals. Any of the 4 teams left can win it.
  15. Like I said, I think Andrews is going to be an SEC player. Cutter is not. Cutter and Andrews did not play on the same AAU team. They both played for the Travelers, but Cutter played on the 17's and Andrews on the 15's. Andrews was more of an impact player than Cutter was on his team, but remember that Cutter is 2 years older and has more experience. I would be surprised if Emmanuel said that. Sounds like someone is trying to start trouble. As far as Cutter not getting MVP of his own District, that does not surprise me. Awards do not mean that much. I am not taking away anything from who got it over him, but I would venture to say that it was most likely political. Cutter is cocky and opposing coaches probably don't like him, so they didn't vote for him. Look at the AAA Mr. Basketball candidates. Tyrone caldwell is a very good PG and will do well at Austin Peay, but the reason he is a candidate is because he had a great state tournament run last year and has been exalted as a great player since he was in 7th grade. Put him on a team that did not go to state last year and he would not have neen a candidate. Jon Primm of Dickson County was the "other" PG on Tyrone's AAU team (Mid-State Ballers) and was just as good as Tyrone, but nobody knows who he is.
  16. Here is how I rank the remaining teams in the Region: 1. Shelbyville - Most skilled and athletic. Andrews is the best player in the region (can shoot, dribble, pass, rebound) and he is only a Sophomore. Siegel fans who think Gooch can elevate (and he can!!!) need to see Michael France. France is sick. Not only can he soar, he can shoot the rock and he is a Senior. Twilley is a little like Maupins from Oakland, but can handle the ball even better (If that is even possible) and is the best passer in the region. Enough about the almighty Shelbyville - although they do have other good players. 2. Whte County - If they keep their hot hand, they can upset Shelbyville in the finals (Assuming Shelbyville beats Siegel). They really don't have one player that stands above the rest. Very balanced and all 5 starters can be the MVP of any game. All can shoot and all know the game very well. It would be hard to bet against them. 3. Siegel - If Andrews from Shelbyville is the best player in the region, Cutter is a very close 2nd and could make an argument for being the best right now (Andrews will be playing in the SEC one day). If Hammonds is 100% or close and their big UT football player stays out of foul trouble and plays with passion on both ends of the floor, Siegel could win the whole thing. Siegel is also the type of team that can fall apart on you because of their inexperience (4 Sophomores get significant minutes). 4(tie) Oakland and Franklin County - and both of these teams can beat Siegel or White County on any given night and can give Shelbyville their monies worth. Best player in that game will be Ryan Stovall from Franklin County, but Epps can lock up anybody, so that will be fun to watch. Epps and Stovall will be going at it. Oakland has more talent past that match up, but anything can happen in the tournament and it is at Franklin County. 6-8. They are all pretty weak. I give them no chance. Blackman is the worst 4 seed to ever come out of 7AAA. The top 3 teams from 7AAA are pretty solid, but in my opinion, 7AAA was way down this year. 8AAA is about the same as usual. Not very strong and Shelbyville is nowhere near the team they had with Stewart and the older Twilley. Hate to say it, but Region 4AAA may have representation in Murfreesboro, but not one of these teams has the capability of capturing the gold ball.
  17. might be your opinion on Ramsey but ask the players that you say he will NEVER be better than and see what they think, you must not have seen Ramsey plan when he is fully healthy and playing at the top of his game, he will never be dominated by any of the players you mentioned and he will hold his own against any of them
  18. Patrick McNicholas will be unreal this year in freshman ball for siegel, he might get his share of varsity time. He's got unlimmited range and can dunk the basketball. Watch out for him in the future, he's easily a top freshman in the state.
  19. Mitchell is the better team, but im sure the game will be close
  20. Good point I take beech by 5 or 10 Siegel does bad aginst teams that can shoot Beech can shoot simple
  21. Should be number 2 in their respective district next to siegel
  22. It was the Hamilton game, Darius Roper and another player were close to throwing punches, Jimmy Oden doesn't like it when people mess with his teammates
  23. I think Jimmy Oden or Keith Ramsey coming back for their senior years will find themselves winning games again combiining for 40 or more points a game as they have numerous times in 05....either have enough talent to win AAA Mr basketball....they are both unselfish so it will be hard for them to put up the numbers as some of the other players can do being the "go to guy" on the team but we will see...................
