  1. Yes, always a great ball game, and yes the coaches, players and fans are pretty classy bunch at Cleveland.
  2. These 2 have played 3 times all 3 very close. I think game 4 will be another close game.
  3. It was what I thought it would be. 1st game lot of work needs to be done on both teams. The goal is to get better each week. I think both will. Signals numbers are down could hurt if kids get banged up. For sure they are a very scrappy bunch. I will say the new coach is his own man but take it from a guy who has been around awhile. Refusing to talk to the media after the game really not going to help much. They made a point to print in "refused to talk to media". I think Signal will be fine in the long run. As for my Canes, overall it was a good job the O lined showed its youth, and will get better lot of good kids that are very coachable. Again EH like last year not very much in the run game. I think it gets better. Not a fan of the 3-4 D gave up what 259 rushing yards, something has got to give. Cleveland will bring a much better running game then signal next week, got a lot of work in a short time. And yes we lost one of those 4 starting LB. but a win is a win.
  4. I really don't care what others say, 2 of the hardest things a team has to go thru is a new QB, and a coaching change. Signal will do both. Bill Price was a very good coach and had his teams always ready to play. Yea he took some lumps over the years but he gave way more then he took. I think this new coach can get 5 to 6 wins this year things will turn around real fast. It's a tuff schedule but Signal will be fine. Make no mistake EH is taking this game to heart there will be no over looking this one.
  5. Rhea wins this one........ by 2 TD's.
  6. I would hope last year was insane with turnovers. Really did not put much into Saturday, agreed we played 2nd teamers, but so did Rhea, I was going back to the Maryville game granted it's Maryville, but WV, Knox West, Knox Cath moved it real well on us in scrimmages. This is a much better team then last year and moving down will also help. I really think this is a 9-1 team this year and a big return to the playoffs...... last 2 years Canes gave up way to many rushing yards, it needs to be fixed.
  7. Riverdale is a good ball club, not sure what they got this year. Owls are loaded they are at home.... I think they win by 2 TD's! This team reminds me a lot of those great ball teams they had back during the Gatewood, Monroe era. I will say this this team is the best in the Chattanooga area yes that includes McCallie, Baylor, and Rhea. We will see how this moves forward but I got them in the finals.
  8. It will be the 1st game of the year, Canes will be on the road..... So this will be a good game. Canes have a size advantage, and more depth, so I will give us the edge. The Canes will need to grow up some up front good size but had issues. Canes cannot not have the LB crew making most of the tackles we have got to get some pressure. on the O line very little push got to do a better job. They key will be can the Canes get better each week? I would think with the scrimmage schedule and our non district schedule should make us better for district play. But if the Canes turn it over like they did last year Signal could win this game.
  9. Privates are not the only ones that recruit. Building more apt complexs all the time on East Brinerd Rd.
  10. Booger, I will restate something. Last year ND was as talented as anybody in 5AAA. There is no difference in talent between the divisions, the difference come in the number of kids. Ooltewah will dress 70 to 80 kids where ND cannot. Not saying ND was not a good team its just a numbers game.
  11. Disagree, Lookout Valley plays a bad schedule every year and still gets beat, outside of South Pitt. We had a couple of Lineman that are good size got talked to about the benfit of a private school education. 1 is a running back. The lineman stayed and the running back will be wearing blue on McClaiie Ave.
  12. Went out on a limb and said Canes would go 8-2 this year. After watching them Friday night in a scrimmage with Knox West, Knox Cath, and Walker Valley, I think East Ham returns to the playoffs in a very impressive way. Pretty darn good team.
  13. I don't fly no where. You seem to have no issue with giving your 2 cents, just thought I would give mine. Your team is very good and all the props to them. As for Maryville do some research. Last year they played in a 5A 6A combo district just like us.Now we an't no Maryville but do scrimmiage them every year again tomorow night. There district schedule is not the best in the world. Last year Maryville played 6 - 6A teams 2- 5A teams and 2- 3A teams 5 of the 10 went to the playoffs. East Ham played 5- 6A teams 4- 5A teams and 1- 4A team 9 of the 10 went to the playoffs. Yea we played a very competive schedule last year you did not. This year we will play up in 3 of the 4 non district games. It was also good to see that the school on the hill offered 3 of our 8th graders last year.
  14. Very good coaching staff they will make changes were needed on O. Owls D keeps them in every game. As with the Canes last year a young O can really struggle if you turn it over way too much. Owls work way to hard during the week, to make silly mistakes. This may be a better team then last year. Where is the Rhea game being played at?
  15. Owls, will be very good. I think 9-1 is a good call.
  16. Both go in undefeated, (yes Rhea beats Baylor) Owls come out 5-0 Rhea 4-1........
  17. Booger should know alll about cupcakes, outside of Signal not much there in that district. ND would finish middle of the pack in the old 5AAA maybe. As for East Hamilton last year was a down year, 37 turnovers 18 of them were direct scores. with 2 minutes and 15 second left in the 1st half East Ham and Ooltewah were tied 7-7 at the half it was 24-7 3 scores on turn overs. When you play in the old 5AAA and at the mid way point your running a QB who has not played the position sence he was 11 years old you got issues. But that was last year. East Ham will again be very large up front, and will have one of the top passers around. East Hamilton will win this district undefeated but it will be a great ball game at LA. I said last year the Canes would struggle last year and they did, I also said 2015 would be another banner year and I think it will be. I do think the only game that East Ham will be an underdog will be at Ooltewah. 9-1 and yes that includes wins over Signal, Cleveland, Soddy. Booger you don't play that schedule.
  18. Big Guy if we turn it over like last year yes we could be 5-5. I was thinking 8-2 or 9-1. Now last year I said 4-6 or 3-7. Here is why I think we will do well 85% of the team is returning there were 4 losses that could have gone either way last year. Signal, McMinn, Bradley and Cleveland. Woods is a very good QB Whiteside will be the best RB in that district. We are moving down. Signal 1st game of the season new coach new O and they will be replacing a few key spots. But I see it 50/50 right now. Cleveland is in total rebuild mode with key losses in the O backfield. Soddy replaces there QB and East Ham will be the better team. Ooltewah is a better team and they should be lights out on D. In the district I think we will be better then Central and Hixson, I do not see Stone as a treat, nor Crossville. Seq and Livingstone I do not know much about. East Ham will still have 5A size and speed, East Ham will also dress 75 to 80 guys don't know how many in that district will do that. I do think East Ham would be picked 3rd in the old 5AAA behind Rhea and Cleveland. Canes will be stronger this year and in a weaker district.
  19. The Canes did lose 2 coaches Tony Brown is now at UTC as D line coach and Kranz is the new D cord at Carrolton GA.
  20. The Canes return to 4A next year and talk out of the camp the Canes should make a deep run. The Canes return a lot in 2015 they will big very large up front on both sides of the ball. Key returners Nick Woods at QB the knee looks good from watching him play baseball, David Whiteside at RB along with Jeffery Coleman on the O side. On D 3 of the 4 LB return along with 3 returning DB. Key losses are D Morgan off the line Durrah at DB and the kicker along with 4 year starter Matt Milita. Durrah will be at MTSU next year Morgan at Tusculum or JUCO with hopes of making to a larger school. The kicker will play soccer at the next level and word is Milita needs to decide between baseball he has 3 or 4 offers or football, he turned down 3 offers from NAIA schools but still has 2 offers from Carson Newman and a peferred walk on at UTC. Gatewood has scheduled up with non conferance games Playing at Ooltewah and Signal, Soddy, and a home game with Cleveland. District games with old friends Hixson and Central, and teams I do not know much about Crossville Sone Mem, and Seq. there is another i cannot remember......
  21. This job is one of the top 2 programs in Chattanooga. Troll hit it on the head. Lot of folks pick at them but most folks do not know the work that goes in up there. Most everything up there started from grass roots and they work for everything they got. It is also a tru community school, that is embraced by all up there. They will have there pick at the coach they want.
  22. Smith will be the top Sr, signed with Maryville, Woods will be back by April 1st, Fahler the catcher signed with Carson Newman pitched a lot this summer and CN signed him as a pitcher why you might ask he was hitting 88 to 90. The kid that transferred in from Ringgold will be a Jr. was projected to be there #2 guy, then there is Hollingshead can throw a lot of innings and will be the middle relief guy. Watters had a great summer at 6’3 throwing in mid 80’s will be a good one. Then you got Aslinger 6’3 185 pitched well as a soph last year had some issues at time but throws hard with a good breaking pitch. Then there is Blum who was the ace on the JV will see with some time. Thomas 6’2 215 Sr who will play 1st can throw and will start non district games. I would think that Milita will come out of center to close, throws in low 80’s with a nasty slider, and throws strikes. Yea East Ham will have pitching. Our issue will be at short till woods gets back and I hear he might be fine by opening day, and who will play short when he is on the mound. Thomas is a OK 1st baseman, and who will catch when Fahler is on the mound couple of good catches behind him but very little experience. East Ham will be a good team I would think it’s a toss up Bradley will be good and Soddy will be very tuff. Point of interest Smith baffled McCallie last year and Woods just shut down Ringgold, 2 pretty good arms. Fahler in summer ball destroyed a East Cobb Team. Word is Milita will by pass football offers and sign with Chatt State in Jan as an outfielder. No I am not saying East Ham will win the state just giving my 2 cents worth that they will be a top 3 team within 5AAA. Ooltewah will struggle lots of young kids the talent is there just how fast they can get there.
  23. I am waiting for the right moment. But looking at our schedule the only game that pops up as an issue will be the trip over to Hooterville, and really not losing to much sleep over that. Remember I told you way back last summer this would be a long year for the Canes, but 2015 would be something special. Well the clock has started on 2015 and it will be special.
