  1. If Eagleton gets York, it’ll be over before the half. SG less than 0.99% chance at the level they’ve been playing lately and I don’t think anyone is holding their breath. I hope I’m wrong, but not likely.
  2. SG can barely swing a fly swat right now, let alone hit the fly. Both probably out the 1st round.
  3. They did not play the whole game. Radar went out. Another was ejected. Plus to 3 others were sick and they played limited. SG seemed lifeless for most of the game and did to not play to their potential. However, HV was full of life from the get go and kept the foot on the pedal. HV is a better team than how they started out and now they have some momentum. They handled CG this past Friday. Garrett has them heading in the right direction and they will not be an easy out in the playoffs. SG however, if they don’t put the breaks on the downward spiral, they’ll not make it out of the 1st round.
  4. I believe there’s 3 more out that the GR article doesn’t mention. 2 key, and one other which is one of the only few seniors on the team. I’m not sure if any will be back in time for the Hampton game?? They’re already young, but they do have plenty of talented freshman and they need them to step up. The team that played last week against HV and Friday night against EA will not beat Hampton; no chance at all. I’m not sure they’ll even survive Grainger this coming Friday night? The kids put the work in the weight room during the off season and continue to do some workouts. My perspective is their focus and determination has gone missing in action. Can they reset and go find it, then grab a hold of it again before it’s too late? I know what they are capable of and I hope they get it back quickly, otherwise it will not end on a high note.
  5. Looks like it’s setting up to be that way and if it does. I’ll pull for the Dogs.
  6. If the SG team that played CD, it’ll be a game. But the truth is, it’s not looking promising. Right now Hampton is the team to beat and I could see them making it to state again for their 2nd time. Have a blessed weekend.
  7. That 1st half season team was capable of beating any 2a team in the state. This 2nd half season team will not survive if they don’t figure it out quickly. The WG game they a few key players out and plus that game is WG Super Bowl. There’s no love loss between the 2. This SG team that played tonight will get mauled by Hampton and will not make it out of the 1st round. It’s hard to admit, but that’s what will happen if they don’t get that fire back and the key players that have been out.
  8. This SG team is not the same team as played in the 1st 4 games. Looks like a completely different team. It’s like there’s no enthusiasm. I believe they had at least 5 key players out, but that’s no excuse. If this the same team that has played the last 3 games goes to Hampton? Hampton will probably be able to name their score and blow them off the field. And SG will not make it out of the 1st round. I’m not sure what’s going on? But if they don’t figure it out soon, they’ll be playing basketball.
  9. Stadium is nice. Probably want to leave early because the traffic. Coming from Greene you could always take the back way through Dandridge and come out at the red light next to Swaggerty’s Sausage and then turn left and go to the next red light and turn left again and it takes you directly to the school. The stadium is behind the school. NVA will give it all they have, but I don’t see them hanging with Greene.
  10. Have a blessed day. Time to feast 1 Huntingdon 6-1 2 Loretto 7-0 3 Marion County 8-0 4 Smith County 6-2 5 York 7-0 6 Riverside 5-2 7 Hampton 6-2 8 Lewis County 7-1 9 East Robertson 7-1 10 Mitchell 8-0 11 Milan 6-1 12 South Greene -61 13 Mt Pleasant 7-1 14 Bledsoe County 6-2 15 Fairley 6-2
  11. SG has had some key players out the past 3 games, including tonight. They’re gonna need all of them and they’ll need to have the same intensity they had when the played CD or it’ll be a long night and a long bus ride home. They’re young, but they have the tools/kids. I’ve had some blinded eyes towards the C staff, but my eyes are seeing some things and I’m starting to wonder a little. If that same SG team and coaching staff that was on the field tonight shows up In Hampton, they’ll receive a big L.
  12. Agree, Jarrett’s a good coach. That passion he has came out in those kids tonight. I do not see them losing another regular season game. They travel to C Gap, and that could potentially be a good game? Their last game is as WG. WG is not a bad team if they all show up a don’t turn the ball over a hundred times. Not easy wins, but if they play like they did tonight I don’t see them losing.
  13. Big win for Happy Valley. SG was blah and so was most of the coaching. Happy Valley coaches did a great job and had their kids ready to play and it paid off. Those kids played hard and kept fighting, and it was a well deserved win. On another thread someone had made a comment about the SG coaches, and my response was, I wouldn’t be focused on the coaches. That fellow that made the comment was correct, at least for this game and I’ll leave it that. Congrats to Cloudland on the BIg W.
  14. The real top 10 as of 10-1-2023. For sure to change in the coming weeks Some of these I’ve seen play and some not. So the ones I’ve not seen, I’ve chosen based on their schedule and the here say/talk from you gentlemen on Coach T. 1 Huntington not seen - going to watch soon. 2 Loretta seen - Balanced on offense, Good big OL, physical/quick on their feet, Solid QB that can run & throw, makes good decisions, receivers solid and physical, solid on defense, swarm to the ball. Legit good football team. If they stay focused, they’ll be tough to beat. Fun to watch. 3 Marion not seen - going to watch soon. 4 Riverside not seen - going to watch soon. 5 Lewis County - decent run game, Big OL, physical, defense physical, decent against the run. Pass defense could some tweaking based on the game against Loretta. Overall solid and Sneaky. 6 York seen - solid run game with some speed. #5 the QB is quick/shifty, smart, a play maker and makes the offense go. They have another running back that is quick and shifty. Defense is good, but I’ve seen better. I think a team that has a good running game and passing could cause some trouble to them. Overall Seem to be determined and focused. I think the game against Stone Memorial will give us a little bit more insight. 7 Hampton seen - Big/physical OL, at least 3 speedster that are not afraid to lower the shoulder if needed. QB has a good arm and can throw if needed. Most of us know that Hampton runs the ball and they do it well. Very good football team in my opinion. Pass defense against a team with quick receivers that can catch might create a small issue??? Overall Dangerous and I could see the upsetting someone in the post season and making a run. Sneaky 8 South Greene seen - Young, Not the biggest on the OL, but strong and physical. Balanced on offense, good run game, receivers are good and aggressive. QB smart, check downs and makes good decisions when passing. Defense physical, good secondary and seem to have a thing for picking off the opposing teams passes. I think in 6 games they’ve caused 22 turnovers INT’s/fumbles. They’ve not hit their full potential yet. Is it good enough??? Young, but good. Potential is there. 9 Mt Pleasant seen - speed, size, at least one D1 player on the team. I think they have the tools to be dominant. They look like they could compete with any 2a team, but then again which team shows up? Sneaky 10 Smith County seen a little - Going to finish watching the game against East Roberson. Good defense. Big & physical. Sneaky Some other teams like Milan & Mitchell could easily be in the 5 through 10. Mitchell I’ve not seen yet, but they are undefeated. Post season will separate.
  15. I had the opportunity to watch a 2a scrimmage NVA right before the season started. The 2a got up 14-0 then both sides brought in their 2’s & 3’s. NVA was physical, but I don’t think they have enough jimmies & joes and overall depth to compete with the Cyclones or Greeneville. Shouldn’t be close, and with it being the 1st home game for the Cyclones, it will probably be a shut out at least while their 1’s are in.
  16. Congrats on the win. For me at least, anytime you play up and win, it’s a great win
  17. Hampton is well coached and just a tough bunch. I think their record is kinda misleading. They lost to Pigeon F & PNC and either are not very good. However, most teams will have a bad game or two. Those 2 games you could say were their bad games. My opinion Hampton is dangerous and could play with anyone in (2a) when they are clicking on all cylinders. South Greene I wouldn’t be focused on their coaches This year at this point out side of R12a, I’ve watched on (utube) Lewis Co, Mt. Pleasant, Summertown, Loretta, and a few of others. Loretta is balanced and good. I know Riverside, Huntington is good as well. York is good, but I would like to see them play a balanced team like Loretta. There’s a few sneakers out there and if either of any of the top teams get caught sleeping, they may end up resting until next season.
  18. Hard game to pick. With it being at DB I think they might squeak it out?? Cyclones has the 1up on coaching, but DB has the 2up with home field, and battle tested with the heavier schedule. However, I wouldn’t be shocked either if the Cyclones win. I’ll say DB by 1 for now. I may change my mind before the game starts
  19. I honestly don’t know much about either team. Looking at both teams schedule, Upperman probably has the more proven track record. I did pick Smith Co to get the W over ER last night, because I wasn’t sold on ER’s ranking position. Before the Smith Co and ER game, I though ER’s ranking was over inflated. Upperman probably has the speed advantage, and Upperman would be my pick at this moment.
  20. Coach is correct. SG completely different team than last year. I’ve had the opportunity to watch them a few times this season. The attitude that I sense from the team and staff is, play loose, fast, physical, and leave it on the field. They are young, but they are a good football TEAM. My opinion, and I may be off, but I don’t think SG has had their best game yet, and I suspect they’ll continue to improve and trend upwards.. I think most of us HS football fan want to see all schools be successful, or least until they play your team.
  21. Pujo telling the truth. At Oneida, I like their chances.
  22. Me included, not sure yet on this one. DB has the potential, but Witten and staff seem to get the most out their kids more often than not. Should be a packed house.
  23. Any possibility of a team outside of TN? Asheville NC area, Greeneville South Carolina area, Southwest Virginia area? Yes it would be a longer drive, but we know G fans travel well. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Alcoa travel to Long Island NY? I’m not suggesting go that far out, but maybe there’s a team out there looking for a game? Maybe they’ll come up with something?
