  1. Alcoa and CAK not in same district? Say it ain't so.
  2. Only got glimpses of these but I agree with this early outlook. Farragut is a level above. Maybe way above. Maryville may be better without relying on Maples. Heritage will be the same....spreadout and hope the 3's drop. Bearden is down from last year. William Blount is down, way down. Have not seen Catholic , West,or Lenoir City. Don't think any are close to Farragut. Course it's 6 mo till district play....alot could change!
  3. Looks like Greenback took care of coaching requirements. Saw article in newspaper today announcing new coach. Good luck Kees !
  4. Interesting debate...I think I'll lean toward Trader. Talented players can be "seen" in AAU and Exposure Tournaments. I think a college coach might want a player that can make a so-so team look pretty good; not a player that is on team that "shoots fish in a barrel" Either way, I would not want to set out a year. So make sure your player can transfer without sitting out. Can't wait to see what others think.
  5. Been around AAU BB for 10 years.....heres my take. Its not legal to play down unless the girls ages were 3rd grade age(started school early) They may have been 3rd graders playing up in 4th tourn...if that was the case its legal. Legal but....is it the "right thing to do? I've seen players play on multiple teams a thousand times; when its done to fill in for injured player and thin rosters I feel its OK. But when its done to win games on a team that has plenty of players its wrong. I know your kids and parents feel bad, but think how the two girls who played their guts out for the other team in earlier games felt when they were replaced in championship game. Some will say AAU travel ball is competative and that's the way it is..(really,..really its 3rd graders) Shame on them! Thanks for sharing so those getting into travel ball can go in knowing some of the pitfalls.
  6. Aw yes...and the days when Walland, Friendsville, and Porter were regulars at State. Today this area is lucky to get a team to sub state. Not sure why this is, consolidation has played a part. Also this area until recently; has lagged behind other areas of the state in (AAU travel type ball). That's changed now and better days are ahead. Maybe we can send some Blount Co girls down to Greenback and return to the glory days! or...send some Greenback girls up here either way, just want to go Murf and see a local team. Forgot about Everett, Lanier, and Townsend.oops
  7. Thanks for the info ! Does TSSAA try to divide evenly(ex.115 in A, 115 AA, 115AAA) or do they have a target enrollmment (ex 540 divides A and AA, 1050 divides AA and AAA) The game I was going to got rained out so trying to predict 2013 classifications will relieve bordom.
  8. Is there a web site that has current enrollment figures for TN schools?
  9. Wow that's quiet an accomplishment! How you do in the playoffs? Oh I forgot; Grace was banned from playoffs and serving a 3 year probation for recruiting violations !!!! Now that's some gca Pride.
  10. So the arguement that Grace doesn't want to play division 2 because of money is invalid ? Seems you want your cake and eat it too!
  11. If he can create a atmosphere in which the kids want to play at Heritage.... and not jump ship for Alcoa & Maryville. They can soon be very good!
  12. Saw Greenback last year, they looked pretty good. Had alot of young talent. Should be real good this year if the coaching change goes well. Hope they a breakout season.
