  1. Wow.... Just one more reason for privates to be in Div 11. Sports Academy of Knoxville (CAK) purpose is to provide a place for those who can afford +$10,000 tuition, an advantage in sports. Take sports out of SAK and enrollment would drop from 450 to 100. I would venture to guess that every high school in the state has at least one girl in its school that has left the team for varying reasons (academics, other sports, etc). I can't think of one coach that would allow someone to join the team after summer workouts, 100 practices, and 30 games! Sports at SAK is about winning, winning, and winning. Fairness, ethics, and sportsmanship are the only losers at SAK. Hopefully Fulton, GP, Grainger, Elizabethton, can derail SAK path to a tarnished gold ball !
  2. Me thinks this will not be the last post from MidKnightghost....everyone knows that ghosts can reappear in different forms!
  3. I'll stick with it.Did not say they were bad, only average.Maryville 7-7 William Blount 10-10 Alcoa 7-5 Heritage 10-6 (2 wins vs a school with less than 200 students) Knoxville's best five Farragut 16-2 Bearden 13-4 Fulton 10-3 Webb 12-4 Div II CAK 9-4 Yes; William Blount upset Bearden. Average teams beat good teams every night. Just sayin, Blount teams are down this year and will not get past Knox teams come tournament time. Mentioned travel ball play as a possible reason Knox may be more advanced, could be wrong on this theory. I guess all will be revealed in the next month!
  4. All four Blount Co teams are average at best. Knox has several teams that are better.CAK, Webb, Fulton, Farragut and Bearden will or would sweep their Blount counterparts. The Knox teams have more players that play quality travel ball during the summer.
  5. Another fine example of why Privates should be in seperate classification. I'm sure they will win 3 straight states, at least middle TN will lose it's strangle hold on girls titles.
  6. Would be a good position, large enrollment and lots of nearby summer teams!
  7. Could move HHS to a district contender?
  8. Soph post from Greenback...look very good during AAU season
  9. 2 daughters 1 always wears Nike not sure of models...no problems. 1 has similar problems that you describe. She has done Ok with Adidas. Nike too narrow. Nfinity is her favorite but it broke down fairly quick. Local stores don't have a large selection of woman's shoes, and ordering a correct fit is always a crap shoot. Hope to hear from Coach T's son when new shoes comeout !
  10. With new coach ,,,,less infighting....you may be right. Cause there's alot of talented girls at William Blount.
  11. Is the transfer one of the CAK girls retuhning home? Also heard Heritage may get a good post via transfer. Both these schools may contend for district with these transfers.
  12. Hey Jet For 2013 it looks like Stone may move up. Will Cumberland Co move down with new enrollment #'s ?
  13. Agree 100%. Private and Public should be split. The preseption from publics that privates have an unfair advantage by recruiting and cheating will never, never, never go away! Had a daughter that went to a private, went to many games and heard gripes, grumbling etc from public parents. And yes...the players knew they were despised by many. I now have a son in a public school and now I feel privates have an unfair advantage(what goes around comes around ) I guess. Another plus of splitting...1/2 of the arguements on Coach T would end! Also agree that the districts should have the same amount of teams. Current proposals have some with 5 some with 9....all should have same# + or - one. I realize its a difficult job to get schools in same district that are located somewhat in the same area with similar enrollments. I would err on the side of location.
  14. Are there enough open zones schools for this plan? Alcoa, Maryville, Greenville, are the ones I see on these forums but I'm sure there are others. Does anyone know how many open zone schools there are in Tennessee? Also how many privates are in Div I ?
  15. Coach has only had the team for a month, give her and the team a chance. Greenback was the only A team at camp all the others were AA & AAA. Having played for Pat Summitt for 4 years, Coach McDaniels has enough basketball knowledge and know how to get the job done. Come basketball season, playing against other A schools, I'm sure the Kees will be fine.
  16. Yea I agree...If you have teams in your football district you want them in your basketball, baseball etc district.
  17. 2nd week of July was posted somewhere. Should be interesting....I think 33% want it, 33% don't, and 33% don't care either way. Teams that are at the high end of classification(enrollment) don't want, teams that are on the low end may end up on the high end and they want it. I'm in the 33% that don't care either way, but I would like to see the other sports go to 4. No matter how many classes 1 or 10.... Maryville will be at the top year end and year out.
  18. By looking at your response it seems you've wrote an essay explaining why your school would feel it's OK to create a disgusting scene and pull a fire alarm. Refs are terrible they're causing us to lose so let's scream at everyone and pull a fire alarm. Since you probably spend most of your time defending Elizabethton players and coaches....maybe you can write an essay on how a fire alarm can be pulled with ~20 players & coaches from Elizabethton surrounding it; can magically go off without any of them not involved? Oh wait... I bet it was those"bozo refs" ! By looking at other posts it seems this behavior is par for the course at Elizabethton. Coaches and administrators....please think twice before inviting this bunch to your gym !
  19. Was watching a very good basketball game at Alcoa Camp, when all heck broke loose! Elizabethton built a solid lead early and held it until Fulton made a furious comeback in the 4th qtr. With just over 1 minute left Fulton led by 1. Eliz coach was T'd up for making ugly comments to the refs. The other 2 bench coaches came off the bench and started to verbally assault the officals. The Eliz staff was given a chance to cool down but they continued their attack. Needless to say, they were asked to leave. The coaches refused to leave and threatened refs, tournament officals, and fans. After several tense moments the team gathered in a back hallway shouting threats to all in the gym. As Elizabethton left they pulled the Fire Alarm. The gym had to be cleared for 20 minutes. Once everyone exited the Elizabethton assualt continued on any and all. I've seen plenty of these "fights" before, but have never seen a Fire Alarm pulled which could potentially endanger those in attendance. I wish I was a TSSAA offical, cause heads would roll. Did see some good games today: Elizabethton looked good except for the incident. Grainger Co looked like they will be strong again. Seymour and Cocke Co also played well. Fulton is young and may be a year away(good coach).
  20. I think CAK,Loudon, and Eliz would be 1 class above Alcoa & AE. Alcoa currently has one of smallest enrollments in its class. With this reclass they would be in the middle of the pack in enrollment. They would play some teams with smaller enrollments. They last reported an enrollment of 550.
  21. Ok...now that turf is almost done. What about the scoreboard ? Size, and will it do replays?
  22. 4 across the board sounds good. Not sure why football now has six and baseball & basketball has 3. Seems like they would have more.... because more schools field baseball & basketball. Must be a money issue. Would make it alot easier for me to keep up with... if it were the same.
  23. I saw one of the 2013 reclass plans have Grace in same "Region" as Alcoa & AE. They may block Grace's path to annual state trips.
