  1. Wattad had 22 points 10 rebounds and 7 assists...Overrated, I dont think so.
  2. They do have a d1 player...Omar Wattad...He didnt do too shabby...sure he was not the leading scorer of all teams..buchanan was. But Wattad had a better stat line. 22 pts. 10 rebs and 7 asts. That is 3 assists away from a triple double. SCORING ISNT EVERYTHING! Central had three hot players this whole tourney. Wattad was all Shhs had. He scored 9 more points than forney on 4 fewer shots last night. Not to mention the rebs ans asts again...stop hating on Wattad. He is a D1 player; any partial fan knows it. He is the BEST player in the conference...Sullivan Central was the BETTER team last night. Props to them...but do not hate on Wattad. He is a stat stuffer. And the Hill will be ready come Regionals. Dont worry.
  3. I completely agree with that.....Central had a pheonominal student section...i hope this game is closer then the last one.... can anyone stop wattad
  4. I just want to say that Omar Wattad is hands down the best player in this conference. He can do it all...defend well inside and out, Great court vision, long range on his shot, a mid range game, a post up game, good ball handler, and he can throw it down! he has 8 dunks this season...2 last night against East...the first one was basically a vertical jump dunk off 2 feet and the second one was just a simple ###### it back and throw it down dunk. you cant go against all of the division 1 schools that are recruiting him. He is the only player that will go d1 in the big 9 right now. Maybe freshman Ashlon Adams will as he matures.
  5. For your info. Science Hill won the first game they played in the Arby's. They beat Roanoke Catholic (VA) by 1. 50 to 51. Wattad hit the game winning freethrow with just ticks left. And for whoever said there is not a D1 prospect in NE TN. Omar Wattad has been offered 6 D1 scholarships already. Hes just a junior.
  6. heres the details. i watched a pretty good siegel team beat a pretty good science hill team. the toppers dont rebound well enough to win a big game. Right now they have two players. Omar Wattad and Michael Forney. Wattad showed up to play whereas Michael was just scared as can be. The Siegel zone shifted Wattads way all night. He still was cutting through it with ease and giving up the rock b4 the big white dude could try to swat him. His teammates could not knock down an open shot. He truly is a combo guard. Because he can shoot it, penetrate, and pass it. Nobody on Siegel could guard him man 2 man. BUT hold on...the zone was really tough. And Siegel has a tremendous guard tandem in Jimmy Oden and Darius Roper. They can play. They are my state favorites as of now. But im tellin you the Toppers are so close to being great. And I mean great. Wattad showed so much intensity tonight. Nobody in the Big 9 will beat the Toppers. They will win the region, and have a packed house for substate. Then they will be headed to Murfreesboro. Congrats to Siegel because they earned it tonight. They are going to be real tough when Ramsey gets healthy.
  7. Do you realize your talking about an overtime win over VOLUNTEER.... please dont mention coach k and throp in the same sentence again
  8. Science Hill won by 10. It would have been a blow out but the refs were callin fouls on wattad for no reason. The kid couldnt even try to play d or they would call a foul on him.... he sat most of the game... but grabbed a rebound took it the court himself and pulled up at the top of the key and drilled a 3 to put the toppers over the edge
  9. You guys just need to get out of the discussion you all are trying to start a high school fight in a chat room and talking about how people wouldnt say it to your face.... he was making an intelligent comment about how you all HATE on wattad just cause he can play and beats your team every year.... why dont you just talk about basketball and stop making derrogatory comments for no reason ...GROW UP
  10. yall are all crazy. the toppers had 4 varsity players playing. Omar Wattad, Wes Lauderback, Davy Rhyans, and Dionte Grey. they were missing Mike Forney, Landon Turner, Nick Crowder, Chris Collins, and David Alexander. Wattad didnt have any help out there against erwin. He had 27 of the 39 pts. and he would have had 15 assts if people could make lay ups. But he ended with 5. That was totally not their team. So dont go make remarks when u dont know what the heck you are talking about. Wattad and the boys will be loaded come season time...dont you worry.
  11. Shaud Johnson is not the best player in the conf. Omar W. has gotten scholarship offers from ETSU. UTC, MTSU, Appy St., and just recently from Southern Illinois. They have had some of these coaches at their practices. (theyve only had 4) Omar is also being recruited(as in talking personally on ther phone...not just letters...hes got many of them.) to Penn St., Stanford, UT, and many others. Shaud aint got nuthin on him...just wait till the season though...you will see
  12. You keep on thinking Buchanan and Hess could touch Omar. Hess tried to take Omar off the dribble the one time Omar guarded him and Hess went baseline and got stopped. But being the selfish player that he is he tried one of his goofy pump fakes and Wattad did not bite. Then Hess still put it up and got his stuff thrown out of bounds. Wattad also shut down number 34 (the kind of strong 3 man) (is that Buchanan?) I dunno. But he had no chance with Wattad on him. And the other guard... Number 1 was pretty good but Omar never guarded him...but trust me if he did he would have shut him down too... also Omar had an off shooting nite from 3 point land. His defense was stellar and he was penetrating and dishing on that pretty tough zone at will. The zone was effective because the court was tiny. And that was the first game Omar's 3 ball had been off...the week b4 against Unicoi, they played that zone and Wattad hit at least 8 threes on it. He was pulling up and hitting whenever he wanted. All I know is this... even if Wattad is having a "bad" game...if the game is close I can just see it in his eyes. He will not let any of these teams around here beat the mighty Toppers. Don't you forget it. You over estimate all of these teams in the conference. I truly believe Central is the second most talented team in the conf. But they will not be used to playing better competition night in and night out in AAA ball rather than a weaker schedule in AA ball. The teams are better in AAA ball. There not as good as you think they are...they are just better than AA ball.
  13. Listen up. Omar Wattad and the science hill hill toppers are going to run the conference 16-0. Omar will average at least 20 ppg. And he will be dropping assists left and right. Omar had an off shooting night against central. But nobody could get around him at all. He has defense that other players wish for. plus he controlled the game with his assists. Omar is hands down the best player in the conference and he will make a case for Mr. Basketball this year. He will be east tennessee's nominee. Don't hate because you country boys from central didn't put in all of the work Omar has over the summer. And don't hate because the numerous D-1 coaches love his game. If you say they don't know what their talking about...then you are just mad because nobody is watching you or your kid or your friend or whoever you think and wished could hang with Omar on the court. JUST DONT HATE!
  14. Travelers 16's vs. mid state 16's...any time anywhere...the Travelers would win...period.
  15. Ok that could have been the most stupid quote EVER... you are sitting here comparing a sophmore in the big 7 to Julio Franco...... AND your sophmores.... they carried the team tonight... Bo came in throwin mid 80's ..... and didnt make it out of the inning... Your great defensive team... there shortstop couldnt make a play to first...
  16. I am saying that the toppers will meet the indians again in the regional championship and the toppers will win..... how about you guys stop having a chat for the DB lovers ..... yes their sophmores are good... but when SH and DB's soph class played .... Science Hill has gone 7-1....... why all the hype... hoilman shuts them down at the plate.... the db senior class is carrying this team. The soph may get many hits.... but some are due to the seniors blasting the ball and them having a 10 run lead. DB has a good chance to go to state... but they are definently not state contenders... they have an average defense with good hitting..... but this hitting hasnt occuring against good pitching. When DB was down at the Sportsbelle they faced good pitching and lost. Stop overating a above average team
  17. The Magic have Mo Miller and Randy Culpepper. The Travelers have Omar Wattad. All 3 of these players are ranked in the top 5 in the state. All 3 of these players should (if they keep improving) get big D-1 scholarships. Mo Miller has athleticism and uncanny passing skills. Randy has animal like quickness with Iverson type scoring. Omar can play all 5 positions on the court in school ball and 1-4 in aau ball, while scoring at any position and locking up at any position.
  18. Man, you should all shut up, the best two 16u teams are the Tennessee Travelers and the Memphis Magic. Mid State or TN THunder could not hold either of these teams. Holla
  19. The TN Travelers 16s played in the 17u division. They started the tourney off slow losing 2 in a row. Then they won the last 2 games. Both of their losses were by 1 point. The main players for them did pretty good. Omar Wattad had a solid performance throughout the tourney scoring 20+ points in two of the games, and his defense was tremendous in every game. Terrence Oglesby did real well in one game but he was very streaky throughout the tournament but when hes hot hes hard to stop. Tony White had a solid tourney as well, it sometimes seems like the defense is standing still when he is penetrating. Keith Dodd is really improving, he had a great tournament into comparison of the way he played last yr. He is tough inside. All in all the travelers are getting really good. ... does anyone know where they play next wkend?
  20. At the conclusion of the Sports Belle Classic Science went through the top teams in all of east tn to win the championship. Science Hill has no star players but they managed to win the toughest tournament in Tenn. What are you alls thoughts about the Sports Belle and Science Hill
  21. I believe the order should prob be like this..... 1 Mo Miller 6-2 PG 2 Randy Culpepper 5-7 PG 3 Omar Wattad 6-5 G 4 Ken Bingham 6-1 G 5 Terrence Oglesby 6-1 G Mo- Unbelievable passer and a tremendous floor general. ATHLETE Top D-1 ability Randy- Iverson like scoring ability. Quick as a cat. Mid D-1 ability (height) Omar- Very tall and long guard. Stickem D. Flat out score. Top D-1 ability Ken- havent seen him but heard he can score...sorry Terrence- Flat out shooter. Needs to improve defense and handles to be a Pg. Mid D-1 ability. What does everyone think about these players and their D-1 ability?
  22. i dunno about Mo being behind Randy. I think it should go like this...Top5 1 Mo Miller 2 Randy Culpepper 3 Omar Wattad 4 Ken Bingham 5 Jewan Long
  23. dont know how nidiffer signed with kentucky, does not impress me much at all, arm is not as great as people say, he plays in a 300ft park all the way around
