  1. WB91 you need to come clean right now...you know as well as I do that you transferred back to WB because you missed wearing camo every day........
  2. What communities? WB does not have a community. The formation of WB destroyed the communities of Friendsville and Lanier. Heritage destroyed the communities of Walland, Townsend and Porter. The true communities left in Blount County are Maryville and Alcoa. WB and Heritage are a forced mixture of once great communities that no one can truly relate to. The worst mistake Blount County schools ever made was the consolidation of schools and their community identities.
  3. Sorry, but our local news paper is very poor when it comes to covering Blount County football. They now include teams from Sevier County and Loudon County that has only diluted the coverage of the Blount County teams. All this in an attempt to sell more newspapers I guess. But here we are, two days from two local teams playing in the state championship, and yet no coverage of significance. Amazing!
  4. Would you happen to be the Fulton lineman #59 from the 2009 to 2010 timeframe? If so, I fully understand your hostility.
  5. "After my rude encounter, I will be the first to admit...75 is a good number." Go Alcoa! I could not agree more. There were several groups of Upperman fans (men)cruising around the Alcoa stands yelling and clearly looking for a fight prior to the game. They were overheard at the home concessions stand talking loudly about the number of "boys" in Alcoa. The Upperman faithful that formed a tunnel for the team to enter the field were making vulgar gestures towards the Alcoa team as they assembled in the Helmet...all with our Cheerleaders standing there watching.
  6. Well its that time of year again: 1. Another rural Middle TN team folds faster than a paper plate at an Alcoa Goon tailgate. 2. Another long ride back down an endless I-40W. Coaches and players all stunned by the sheer force of the F5. "But we were 13-0!" 3. Claims of "Alcoa Recruits" and "open zone" ring across the CoachT electrons. 4. A trip to the Cookeville Wal-Mart on Saturday to buy more Carhart, camo and basketball shoes. 5. The sound of tears hitting the bottom of an Upperman locker Monday at 3:30. When you poke a dragon boys........thanks for playing Upperman!
  7. Just curious, how many "big" games" have these Upperman Bees really played in? Please note: pee wee, midget and middle school do not count. More importantly, how much experience does this coaching staff have in "big games"? This is a legitimate question that deserves consideration.
  8. I saw DC's info later on in the thread as well! Good eye DC! I knew that face was familiar just could not place it until today!
  9. You missed a good one! Another Alcoa vs. big ole hard hitting nasty hay hauling country boys. They fought hard in the first half but looked like a rusty 65 Ford sitting on jack stands in the second half....No problem you missed the game...assuming you are still married. If not, what a waste!
  10. Might have been 2008. All these playoff wins over the years....starting to get them mixed up......
  11. As I recall, Marion County brought theirs to Alcoa in 2009. The APD liked the whistle so much they stood right in front of it the whole game! Who knew they loved whistles so much! I guess it broke right after they got there because it never blew again.....I am sure the APD was disappointed........
  12. Heard somewhere that Upperman has a train whistle mounted on a dump truck. Is this true and are you planning on bringing it to Alcoa?
  13. I would say you are telling the truth about the rings. Seems CPA has a couple of SEC championship connections. But gold balls from 15 years ago? How about 7 in the last 10 years....BTW, I am guessing those rings say Georgia on them.... .http://www.tennessean.com/article/20130925/SPORTS07/309250194/
