I understand. I'm the same. They did have some cats on their team. A scat cat or two. Could be something in the making there. A strong 2nd place team in our region is nice to have come playoff time. With them being seeded #2 & falling into the bottom of the bracket, if they could win that part. we would ALWAYS host the quarterfinals EVERY YEAR (odd & even years) and not just every odd year.

Talked to Papa Murph yesterday at the game. He was looking dapper as always. He asked who turned the lights out in SP for our game. I told him Roy Dillard. He broke out in a big smile, with a twinkle in his eye.

Been a wet day here in Chattanooga. A fine mist all day yesterday. Has kept scoring down. Therefore lots of our score predictions were off more than usual.

Excellent coaching job by Stone Cold and the entire staff. Great effort all season for this Pirate Squad. This team and program were on a mission this year and the bell was answered. Everyone involved from top to bottom, I tip my cap to you, applaud you, and say what a great ride it has been this year. I love you all. Being crowned champions in the 100th year of Pirate football is an amazing feeling. Let's enjoy this one for a little bit. Let's reflect back on the season's entirety. Let's remember those that aren't with us today, but are looking down upon us, smiling, crying, laughing and enjoying this right along with us. They've been with us all year. Yeah, let's enjoy this one for a little bit. In closing, the South Pittsburg Pirates are your 2023 Class 1A champions. How 'bout them Pirates!

Congrats to yall as well. You don't run the gauntlet like McKenzie did this year without being a good program and having top notch coaching. Regardless of what some may think, McKenzie deserved to be there. Looking at your roster, you've got a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
