What names are people throwing out in the Powell community? Does anyone really want this job considering how much turnover there has been there? Use to be a great job!! what happened?

Do they have some young players? Is there RB a junior? He was tough when I saw them play, but they looked to be lacking talent on the perimeter.

I've been to 2 betsy games and one south game. Betsy has a strong running game, probably best in the area. However, the games I've been to theyve tried to get better at passing at its been mediocre at best. Souths speed is more evident, imo, on defesnse. Betsy won't be able to throw a hitch to the trips and score, or get South to over pursue and have the qb keep it, so what will be their answer on 3rd and 8? South has better players at every position except RB. Betsy banks on thomas to bail them out A LOT. He won't be able to do it enough friday.

South - 38 Betsy - 17 South exposes Betsy's one dimensional offense.

Elizabethton @ Science Hill- 17-28 Hill. Betsy is good, Science Hill has more horses. Cloudland @ Happy Valley- Not sure on this one, going to say 21-14 Valley Grayson (VA) @ Johnson County- 14-7 Johnson County Sullivan East @ Unaka - For East's sake, 6-0 East Sullivan North @ Volunteer - Taking North again, got there best player this time- 26-12 North Sullivan South @ Tennessee High- Vikings are something special, 48-20 Bristol David Crockett @ Unicoi County- I dont believe the hype... You were right, I was wrong. Didn't know jasper kid wasn't playing, and never imagined a Jenkins coached team would give up over 350 yds rushing. However, valley surprised me, volunteer really that bad? Is North going to beat them?

Surprised that lil Mike hasn't already held that position. Been to quite a few games of hamptons and he is always coaching hard and the kids seem to respond to him. When I think Hampton, I think 4-4 with some big, strong middle backers. Sound accurate, pujo?

Volunteer 28 HV 12 - volunteer has some speed, warriors will be overwhelmed. Betsy 14 Boone 17 - Thomas kid will have to have 30 carries to keep them in it, but Boone gets just enough stops to win. TN High 50 Johnson County 8 - over by halftime, watch out for the boys in Bristol. East 30 Crockett 34- 2 bad teams, enjoy this one Crockett. North 28 Seymour 14 - not sure how North will be, but they will be better than Seymour surely. Cherokee 28 Sourh 38 - lot of hype for this south team, athleticism and passing game wins this contest for them. Unicoi 30 Hampton 28 - toss up, Hampton is always big, but that's doesn't always win games.

Will be interesting to see if we can win the first one against central. Seems from reading these posts they aren't looking great. They usually have one or two kids that can play, do they not have those this year? Heard West Greene looked good against North earlier in the week. Are all the weapons of North finally gone?

I couldn't attend. Heard we played well. Good upper class men this year. Valley apparently beat us up front, and was better than us there. we have some good perimeter players though. But we have a lot of improving to do. Got a few kids that'll be alright in time though.

Sarcasm? It's all NE TN football, so technically there isn't any cream of the crop around these parts. Just talking about what is here. If you have any input on Fulton or whitehaven I'd love to hear it. There's your cream.

Watch his highlight tape, not impressive. Not division one talent like the press tried to imply.

Heard Doak and east rolled this past Friday. Friend said Doak looked good. Couldn't give me much more insight on east tho. Anyone at that scrimmage?

Word out of Knoxville is Fulton is unreal. This devil team got the weapons to beat em?

Matchups will be key. I believe Pittman is the dark horse of this quad. Dont be surprised if they upset a team in this quad. Maybe Gap or a North. Won't be watching SG in the playoffs this year, so looking forward to some good 1st rd matchups.

Oh my goodness, I just saw this post..The fact that you believe Malone is that fastest back around means that you must be a "narrow-minded fan" because I can think of about 5 kids off the top of my head that would run him down in a split second that play for local teams. Its one thing to be a diehard fan, its another to Blindly believe your kids are the best in the area. Probably thought UT was going to win Saturday too huh? Cause no one can catch Patterson or Hunter right??

SG just don't have the exp or physical ability this year. Proud of the team this year for fighting every game. Live in the weight room boys.

Malone is fast, but definitely not the fastest kid around, and hopefully not the fastest you have seen. Doak's schedule is weak, so I'm not sure where the burst of confidence has come from. WG is def. not Unaka,Cosby, or N.Greene. West Greene will be fighting all night for this one. Cant wait to hear the score of this one.

West Greene is completely healthy as I got to witness last week. They are by far not a 5-5 team, but had some misfortunate injuries earlier in the season. We all know watching CD's offense is like watching Re-runs of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Laughable and Generic,we've seen the episode, we know whats coming, we know the punch line, but it stills gets us every time. However, Coach Case has seen it too many times and he will put his kids in the best position to stop it. Respect to Malone, but I dont think CD has the ability to win this one. whoa whoa whoa.. plenty of thread here for everybody. "why cant we be friends" Go rebs Havent seen the Buffs yet this season. I know Case loves the power, but how is that passing game this year?

Care to elaborate on the "experiences with the SG staff"? And I'm sure it's easy sitting the stands when your team is steamrolling , but what happens to the Adults in the Greeneville stands when they get shutout by Alcoa ?

How is Witten as a coach. We hear a lot about elizabethon down this way, but I am anxious to hear what makes him such a good coach? I know they have a ton of talent coming through that school, is he a great motivator? X's and O's? Game manager?

I can only speak for northeast tn but if I had to have one coach for my team for the year it would be Jeremy Jenkins at Boone. They overachieve every year, they play so hard, great schemes, and compete with the big schools (DB). Wins and losses fluxuate with talent, but good coaches establish programs for when the talent level is low and that is what I see every time I watch Daniel Boone play, a well ran program.
