  1. Come on now, where are all of my MethMinnville friends at? We need to get yall posting some so we can't keep this thread good and active.
  2. I agree that it's super ridiculous. Don't tell that to any Warren County fans though. They ALL are extremely excited about winning 0-2 games a year, and then traveling no telling how far to play in the first round of a play off game. They don't care that they'll get so blown out, that in all reality it gets to the point that the game is done over by the end of the first quarter. I guess that they'll take it anyway they can get it just as long as they can say "we made the playoffs" haha. It's apparent that the majority of WC fans are perfectly fine with that scenario playing out every single year too. It must be due to the fact that they RARELY win more than a game or two during any given season, much less EVER come close to sniffing a .500 or winning record, thus earning a playoff spot the right way, and how it should be in 6a as well.
  3. UM self reported the violations to the NCAA, but it's not like if they didn't that it would even matter. No serious consequences or punishments would of, or will come of it. That would be true for any coach or school too. Every coach and school commit little petty violations like that just about daily. The NCAA also just created a new rule over all this mess just to ensure it don't continue to happen at any camp, and by any coach Nope, he's not going to get some big over the top, special reception. Harbaugh is technically the bigger name and definitely has the better resume, but you can't forget where the camp is being held at. It's in Mid TN after all, and it's all orange here, Vol country through and through. CBJ will be looked at as the "Big Dawg" at this camp by the overall majority of players. Whether that's right or wrong, idk, but it's the way it will play out. Now if both of these coaches were anywhere above the mason dixie, then it would be all Harbaugh for sure. He'd be the one commanding the most attention.
  4. Yeah, he is a top notch coach, and his record is impeccable like you just said. Any school would be lucky to have him as their coach. The thing is though, he has won exactly zero championships at any level. I basically just meant by my check comment that he's talking the talk, and acting as if he's the best coach in the whole NCAA. One that has already done it all, and seen it all too. IMO, I just think he should tone it down just a bit until he actually walks the walk. At the same time I see why he is carrying himself in that manner. It's just about all planned out, 75% of the time there is a reason behind everything he says or does. It's definitely working, so you can't blame or fault the man. I myself do believe he'll eventually lead Michigan to a NC as well. Typically he's only ever going to have two "real" games to worry about within conference play each year. Like Iowa this past season, some years a extra third team will rise up and be pretty strong/good to be a Big10 school and all. However, their conferences games will generally be played against teams without a pulse that can't even line up straight. He had an impressive first year, I will not deny that or try to take it away from him. The Big 10 is pretty weak though. Their bowl results as a whole speaks for itself. Michigan looked exceptional in their bowl win, they were extremely well prepared. They caught the Gators in very bad shape to be honest though. It was like a perfect storm scenario for UM actually. We all know UF had done been sinking fast, way before that game was ever played due to several key players suffering from major injuries and being out, plus a few other unrelated reasons too. You give Michigan UTs schedule last season and they lose no less than 4 games. Had UT played UMs schedule, they lose no more than 2 games at the absolute most. I believe TN would of went 11-1 in the regular season with the lone loss being at the hands of either Mich State or Ohio State. They'd of had a legit shot at running the table due to both of those games being played at Neyland, and both being later in the year when UT had done hit their groove. I wasn't insinuating that Harbaugh and Kiffin are in any way alike other than their approach of "any publicity is good publicity". Also folks in TN never hated Kiffin until he ran off in the middle of the night. The way he handled that entire situation was something else. The way he then tried to flip players to USC after he had done got them to previously commit to UT really brought on all of the extra hatred. While he was our coach though, he was supported and generally really liked by the majority of UT fans and boosters. He had people talking about UT football again, plus brought a type of swag and confidence that had been lacking for years. He created a level of excitement and had us competitive in every game. And those competitive losses were played against the exact same teams that had blown us out for 2-3 years straight under Fulmers leadership. When it came to recruiting, he hit the ground running and was doing superb. Granted it turned out his recruiting methods were a little sketchy and he seemingly lived and operated in that "gray" area. It's safe to say had he continued coaching here that he would of landed us in some serious NCAA trouble over his recruiting tactics/practices. He certainly doesn't have the entire SEC sweating him or his actions either. His silly HS feud/fight with Saban is just that, Saban, not the entire SEC. And yes, I am aware there are other SEC coaches that have spoke out and let their thoughts and opinions be known on Harbaugh and his shenanigans. Coach Jones is a visionary though. He has been super creative on all things he's done from the second he first stepped on campus as our head coach. It's going to be hilarious when CBJ and company take over once they show up at Oakland for basically Harbaugh's own, personal satellite camp. I kinda had a good idea and was thinking this exact very thing would end up happening. I shed a little light about the topic on here in another thread a few days ago. It turns out that my statements concerning the camp at Oakland was right after all.
  5. Harbaugh has been acting a fool here lately. The man is a good coach in his own right, but he's writing check that his butt hasn't been able to yet cash. He's taking the Lane Kiffin approach while he was at UT with the whole "all publicity is good publicity.
  6. Coach Cope was fired. The writers at WJLE just pitched the story a little differently than what truly happened in reality. They used much nicer words than "fired". The article was wrote in a way so that Coach Cope could go out with a little bit of dignity, and save face too. And I don't reckon there is anything wrong with that either though.
  7. I agree with you 100%. Our Middle School coach would of been a much better hire for us IMO.
  8. I'm sure he will resurface and land another job somewhere in time. He's not a bad coach by any means, so someone will give him another chance at coaching. It's just a matter of who and when.
  9. Hmm, I predict under the leadership of a new coach, that DC will finish in the top 2 of the regular season district standings.
  10. No, not like always, not quite. I know that DC slipped recently under Sloan, but we use to just about always be in contention for a district title. They typically stayed in the top 3 under Odom. It use to be UHS, DC, and LA would battle it out for the top spot year in and year out.

Oh ok then, I believe you. Yeah, I think he's already HOF worthy myself. However, I just wanted to get other peoples opinions. Obviously mine is going to naturally be slightly biased. I agree with you on everything you just said. In your opinion, who is the best pitcher Coach Bond has ever had? Also, who is the best pitcher you've ever seen in this district? And if you can remember as much, what years did she play, and at what school?
  12. My man! Now that's the WC I know, and the one we've each grown to love over all of these years. Just a dumpster fire of a program, and a place where coaches go to kill their careers. You just can't beat it with a stick!
  13. I must confess that I'm super impressed with the indoor practice field, and the weight room as well. It all truly does appear to be top notch, just really really nice looking overall. Due to decades of consistent losing and basically having a never ending, ugly, dark cloud consisting over the entire football program, I'm extremely shocked that they somehow managed to get enough funding for all of it. Anyways, I'm looking forward to watching the butt whooping that WC has coming for them in game numero uno of the season.
  14. Yeah, as great of a player as Todd Helton was, I just don't see him getting into the HOF anytime soon unfortunately.
  15. I'm looking forward to the annual DC/MC match up. Hopefully it will actually be a good game this season. The past two times these teams have faced one another, they've just traded blow out wins. I'd especially rather not see a repeat, but if we must, hopefully it's the 2014 version instead of the 2015 one. Nope, I'd much rather prefer to see a good ole fashioned slug fest that's lead by two of the better QBs in the region.
  16. Yeah I know, it was pretty hilarious. I guess it just ain't close enough to the start of football season for them to be on here chatting back and forth yet. Yeah, about 10-14 days before our game, they will emerge in the masses out of their dark hole. They will go on and on about how they will beat DC because of this and that reason. They will say that they've greatly improved, and that its a 100% fact too due to their performances in off season scrimmages. The majority of them will be confident, and some down right cocky. There will be one or two WC fans on here saying to hold up, and that they'll likely lose to DC, and those couple of people will be slammed hard. The game will play out into the tune of a DC win, then afterwards a handful of them will still be active on here for about another 24 hours. They will be butt hurt though, and will be talking mad trash and saying how we cheated or the refs screwed them and so on. By Sunday afternoon, ALL of the WC fans will have done disappeared back into their dark holes until around that time next year. You may think I'm joking about this, but I swear that's how it plays out and goes down each and every year if DC wins. Well they all say that the most improvement for a team as a whole comes in year two of a new system/staff. I don't know this for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that in the past York has had just as many athletes, and in some years more than what yall have right now. Yall have had some very, very good teams in years past. The thing is though, yall never really could've known because most of the athletic, offensive talent wasn't used or in the position to truly shine and show off their skills. That is due to the offense yall use to run. It's not exactly the most explosive, high octane, big play offense out there. It's more of a the same 2-3 players running the ball straight ahead for the whole 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Don't get me wrong though, when ran right, it's very effective and almost impossible to consistently stop. It's a very simple offense, but one you can win a lot of games running.
  17. That has got to be the stupidest thread title that I've EVER seen on here. The thread in its entirety is pretty dumb as well.
  18. So I started a thread about a week ago and I've been trying my best to rile up all them Fighting Methhead fans from Warren County. Unfortunately, I just haven't been getting any bites thus far. And I'll tell you what, that's just too bad for me, because they're a fun bunch to pick and poke at. They all seem to be extra sensitive, and they typically take all of my ignorant and outlandish comments to heart. They just make it easy for me. Anyways, I'm hearing that they've got an improved team, but ain't that the case with them every year? I'm wondering what's everyone's opinion on how both teams first game of the season will play out in Smithville? Who wins this game, David or Goliath? Last year we won in MethMinnville 23-14. SQUATCH.....you better not let us 8-AA folks down again this year. Yall was the only thing standing inbetween them becoming the first 0-10 team to ever make the playoffs. Well I guess I should of said one of the first, because if memory serves me correct, there were a couple of winless 6A in 2015.
  19. Well you definitely know more about York than I do, so I'll take your word on all of that. I know yall only won 2 games last season, but you could clearly see their was plenty of talent present. Youth, a new coaching staff, and a completely new system is a lot to over come in one year. Yall was competitive in several games, and showed a TON of heart when you played us. I think I can speak for all of the DC fans when I say yall had us scared. Truth be known, yall probably should of won that game too. I certainly see more than two victories for yall in this upcoming season. And as I've previously commented, I do believe yall will be returning to post season play in 2016 as well. I hope our match up in Smithville this year is every bit just as exciting and entertaining as the last one. Best of luck to yall in every game this year outside of the DC one.
  20. As expected, DC's hire today was completely lackluster, and seemingly unexpired. The administration just didn't seem to put very much effort into the search. It seems as if they hired the first person who said they would take the stinking job. I hope I'm wrong, but Nathaniel (Nate Dog) Kennard seems very likely to be 100% unqualified for the position. I'm not under the impression that we had a long list of suitable, qualified candidates knocking down our doors to come coach here, but still, surely we could of found just one single person with some legit experience at this level. Nate Dogs resume is very thin. Kennards coaching career began at Hilham Middle School in Overton County as the Boys Basketball Coach from 2003-2010 where he was responsible for all aspects of the boys basketball program involving the 6th and 8th grade teams. During those years, the program won two county championships and had five final four state tournament finishes, compiling an overall record of 100-85.The five final four state appearances is seemingly impressive, but whats up with that overall record? This past season, ole Nate served as an assistant to Tiger basketball coach Lynus Martin. Before that he done some volunteering at LA on the high school level for 5 years (2010-2015). Everyone knows what all of this "volunteering" means and amounts to though. Andrew Dixon, DCHS Computer Science and Math teacher, will be an assistant to Kennard. http://www.wjle.com/sports/kennard-named-dchs-girls-basketball-coach
  21. The DeKalb County Tigers filled their open head coaching position today with Nathaniel (Nate Dog) Kennard. http://www.wjle.com/sports/kennard-named-dchs-girls-basketball-coach
  22. Well what all of us locals done knew, it's now became official. The Dekalb County Tigers head baseball coach, Tracy Sloan, was relieved of his teaching and coaching duties today. He will not return to the school in any form or manner next calendar year. I'm extremely glad the administration has decided to part ways with CTS after the conclusion of this years 2016 season. There is nothing worse than a lame duck coach, and that's especially true at the college and pro levels in any sport. IMO, there just wasn't any reason in delaying in the inevitable, so kudos to the people in power that made this move. In a mediocre 3 year run as coach, Tracy lead the Tigers to a 53-50 overall record. He was 26-16 in district play, and 8-7 in the post season. I will be the first to say that Coach Sloan is a good man, but he's a slightly below average baseball coach. He squandered and wasted a ton of very good talent over his three years. We should of been competing for district and region titles during his run, not fighting to remain a game over .500. http://www.wjle.com/sports/dchs-search-new-baseball-coach

What's everyone's thoughts on Coach Bond? Is he currently already hall of fame worthy with all of his accomplishments to date? Or does he need to do a little bit more and add to his overall resume to be considered for the HOF, something such as winning a State Championship before he retires? If you don't feel a gold trophy is necessary, what other milestones would it take for him to get in? As things stand now, it could be, just maybe you don't feel CDB is in anyway, shape, or form a worthy candidate at this point in time. Before people go about answering any of my questions, let's first take a gander at Coach Danny Bonds overall record/resume. For the third straight year in a row, CDB has lead his Lady Tigers out of region play, and advanced them all the way to the State Tournament. Overall record: 678-258 District record: 291-56 18 district titles. 24 regional appearances. 12 sub-state appearances. 8 state tournament appearances. 31 winning seasons in 31 years coaching at DC. He has an overall winning percentage of 0.72% He has a district winning percentage of 0.83% Over a 31 year span, he's only averaged 1.86667 district losses per season. Over that same time frame, he's averaged a district championship every 1.722 years, or 0.58% of the time.. In a total of 31 chances, he's only failed to NOT make a regional appearance just a mere 7 times. So what is everyone's honest to god thoughts, and or concerns on the future likelihood of our beloved coach potentially being inducted into the HOF? I'd really love nothing more than to see a list of all the current HOF softball coaches, That way maybe I could get a decent idea of what the standard resume looks like for inductees. Such things as overall wins, district titles, region titles, state appearances, and state titles. Can anybody possibly provide me a link to a up to date list similar, or identical to what I'm desperately searching for? That would help me out immensely!

Are you truly planning to write a book in the future? If so, what all will it detail? I'm just assuming 8-AA softball would be one of the main topics discussed, correct? A book covering our districts history would definitely be something I would be interested in reading, thus I would surely purchase it. Are you 100% positive concerning DC's best finish? I would of swore that we finished in third place one year. I'm probably wrong though. Even though you're a darn ole true SC fan through and through, you're still one of the most knowledgeable posters on this here site. And that's not just football either, it's seemingly every dang thing.

Yeah, yall should be right there competing neck and neck for a district/region title next season. Thanks for clarifying on the intimidation comment. Now I get what you're saying, and I agree with you. I think you can probably agree with me too when I say he's earned that much though.
