You’re foolish if you actually think anyone from Trenton has ever said they could run 1A thru 5A. Just keep believing the stuff you’ve heard. Peabody’s football team isn’t what a lot of you think it is. They’re a tough team that plays with a chip on their shoulders. They don’t expect anything to be given to them just cause they won it last year & haven’t lost a game all year. They know they’re talented team but you will soon see that they play relentlessly.

Man just don’t even reply. Seriously not worth it. Meigs & Peabody are super proud to be here. Both fan bases & teams should get the opportunity to enjoy this week without the headaches of a troll. Just let whoever say whatever & soak it in. Besides only a handful of teams get this opportunity each year & it’s not often. Enjoy it.

Okay. I’m enjoying this week & soaking it in cause it’s not often you get to play for a championship, let alone in consecutive years. I’ll be keeping up with this thread but it’s just not worth the time & effort for me to try & go back & forth with you all week. It’s like arguing with a telephone pole. But I think there is some truth to what you’ve said about Peabody but this team is senior heavy & most of them have started since they were sophomores. This isn’t uncharted waters for them. They’ve been here before so I’m confident. As any fan should be about their team.

Fair enough. You’re entitled to your own opinion sir. But for the record, I do not think Peabody has this locked up. They are playing the best 2A team in the east that’s left. It’s going to take a near perfect game for Peabody to win & same for Meigs. I think these two teams are eerie similar so I think we should be in store for a good one. If either teams doesn’t start fast & make mistakes, it could get ugly.

They had two plays... a trick play double pass & a pick 6... Peabody was down 14-7 at the end of the 1st. I don’t think Riverside picked up a first down until the 3rd quarter where Peabody late hit out of bounds to give them the first. I understand your distaste towards Peabody but at least try to see what actually happened. This will be a tough game & if either team doesn’t play their best ball, it will cost them. I think Meigs & Peabody are pretty similar teams. Should be a great game

I agree whole heartedly about video can be deceiving

Swafford is going to be tough to stop. I don’t think Meigs is going to have the all around speed like what Peabody does but Peabody hasn’t had to try to stop a monster like Swafford yet. It’s going to be a tall task. I can’t wait to see how Peabody’s defense stacks up. Fairley is the best team Peabody has played in terms of talent on the field but Meigs is going to be the best all around team the Tide has faced. This game, as long as both teams play their best, should be a true championship football game. I truly believe the best two teams in 2A are left.

Meigs & Peabody match up pretty evenly IMO. I haven’t gotten the chance to watch much film on Meigs yet other than what I’ve seen here or there throughout the season. Two Mr. Football finalist head to head this coming Saturday. Should be a dandy.

Peabody & Riverside looked like they were kids on a slip & slide most of the night. I was thinking a turf field would’ve been very beneficial for us. It was hard for Peabody to utilize all of their speed because of the conditions of field.

In the Tennessean, all of the writers across the state with USA Today associated papers picked every semifinal game and they were 4-2 in favor of Hundon over Lake Co. Good luck tonight to both teams. I hate that anyone has to lose this game honestly. I don't want to pull for either team because I truly respect both programs, but those Lake Co fellers are a lot like the Trenton folk in ways. I'll just leave it at that.

Yup. Peabody was in a district with Union City, Lake Co, Humboldt, Halls, Gibson Co, South Fulton, & Greenfield. That district was tough back 6-8 year ago. 2013 I remember Peabody was picked to win the district right after they won it in 2012 but Union City decided to start a dynasty for a few years lol. UC finished 1st, Peabody 2nd, & Humboldt 3rd. Union City went on to win the 1A state championship while Humboldt was ranked #1 in 1A for 8 out of the 11 regular season weeks. I think they met up in the quarterfinals that year in 1A. Peabody went on to get beat by TCA in 2nd round of the 2A playoffs. Final score I think was something like 51-44. They played a semifinal game in the 2nd round. Definitely one of the top 5 football games I’ve seen in my life. Peabody & TCA literally threw the ball all over the field that night. That was all before they abandoned the districts & went to the regions we’re in now.

That’s not the case. Just like what Tide21 is saying, you can’t expect someone to sit here & try to belittle others & then not expect to have backlash. General makes a lot of good points but this particular subject has been blown way out of proportion. We have acknowledged that the penalty on the punt was enforced incorrectly. At the end of the day, you still have to fight to overcome the adversity. As I stated previously, Forrest had the ball 1st & 10 from around the 15 yard line with time left & couldn’t score. Let alone a first down even. So it’s not like that penalty happened at the end of the game & you guys weren’t ever going to get the ball back. My whole case in point is, Forrest still was given a chance to win this game despite the officiating. So don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Not by any means. Tide21 & I have been arguing this with General all day. TSSAA has nothing to do with Forrest getting beat. I don’t think TSSAA does a very good job with much of anything that they do honestly. But what General is arguing isn’t what he is portraying out to be.

No running clock here. Riverside is playing good football & they're hot. It will take a total team effort for Peabody to win by multiple scores. Riverside will be no slouch. Does Peabody have the ability to blow this game open? Absolutely. But I think this is at most a 3 TD game but I don’t even see it as that. Should be closer than most think. I’ll take a Peabody blow out though. Don’t get it twisted. I don’t want to go through what we had to last Friday.
