  1. You've said yourself in this very forum that scrimmages don't mean anything. And you use the same logic every time you bring up someone from your district beating a team in district 5AAA. The example you like to use is Farragut beat McMinn Co. the year McMinn won the district. So which is it? Do scrimmages mean something all of the sudden? I guess only YOU can use that logic, right? Has Maryville beaten WB into submission so bad that you will ride their jock no matter what? Btw, Bradley Central DIDN'T play the game of their lives. They did the same stuff they did all year and didn't do it particularly well either. "Almost a blowout"? 21 points is as close as anyone played Maryville, you just don't want to admit that one of the "Chattanooga area" teams didn't get "raped" or "pillaged" by your daddy, Maryville. You just like making excuses for Maryville. Get a freaking grip, dude. I noticed you didn't have anything to say about YOUR team. I didn't think you would, Mr. Maryville.
  2. Which Chattanooga area team has Maryville "raped and pillaged"? Bradley Central finished 4th or 5th in district 5AAA and gave Maryville one of their toughest games all year. East Hamilton beat that same Bradley Central team the week before by 30 points. I guess since WB can't win, you just ride Maryville's jock. You talk a lot of junk for a fan who's team hasn't had a winning season in nearly 10 years. What can you say about YOUR team? Go ahead, I'll wait.
  3. The move would kill football revenue because none of the teams in EH's proposed region travel well. But you're right about EH being a state champion contender yearly if the proposal was accepted. EH would be in the top 5 teams minimum every year in the proposed 4A class.
  4. Of course someone that supports a team that hasn't had a winning season in almost 10 years would want to expand the playoffs. It makes the regular season meaningless if everyone gets in. Everyone doesn't deserve to get in.
  5. I think everyone in District 5-AAA is more excited about the potential move than the Canes are. EH was happy to get out of that 4A district. It won't last even if it happens. Once EH Middle gets built, the high school enrollment will skyrocket because they will rezone. EH has the potential to have high 5A enrollment within 5 years with a chance to possibly move up to 6A. EH was already one of the smallest 5A schools when the enrollment numbers came out. I don't think EH has 5A enrollment right now. I think they would be top 4A enrollment currently.
  6. Father or son? Ted Gatewood is still the Head Coach at EH. Austin Gatewood, his son, signed with ETSU.
  7. Signal usually finds a way around the "zoning thing".
  8. All any program has is this year. This years seniors don't have a "next year". Do you think coaching staffs are waiting around for two years from now? Do you think George Quarles talks to his team about "rebuilding next year"? Do you think Nick Saban talks to his team about what they might do in few years? You have the typically "Vols fan" mentality. Always talking about how good "next year" will be. Or what other teams will look like "next year". There is no "next year". How can you talk about "next year" when this year hasn't even happened yet?
  9. Actually, it would seem like you're trying very hard not to believe it. You seem to fight it tooth and nail every time it's brought up. Just because seniors at Ooltewah don't have any playing experience doesn't mean that's true for every team.
  10. There is no "next year". And East Hamilton doesn't "rebuild". You can't rebuild something that was never torn down in the first place.
  11. Young DB's? East Hamilton will likely start all Seniors in the Secondary. All of which started or played significant time last year. EH is likely to start, at least, 4 seniors along the offensive line as well. 4 Seniors at Linebacker that either started or played significant minutes last year. 3 Seniors at RB returning also. Two split time as the starter last year. The only spot they are "young" is at QB. Check your facts.
  12. EH won't be short on studs this year. People just won't know who they are because they haven't gotten very much press because of how talented that senior class was last year. The 2014 EH team will be a lot more cohesive. They had a lot of stars last year. This year will be more blue-collar.
  13. Coleman saw 7 games worth of time at McCallie. Put the kid in a different situation/location, that "other stuff" might get fixed.
  14. I don't think Baylor or McCallie could beat East Hamilton either. But I do feel like putting, arguably, the best 2-3 players from Baylor and McCallie back at East Hamilton would make that solid team deeper, faster, and a lot better.
  15. Coleman would have been the clearcut starter at Safety last year. Would have definitely saw time as a WR. Would have been the Punt Returner and one of the Kickoff Returners as well. Porter would have split time with Milita. Those are two great high school RB's for one team. Patton would have been either a starter at WR or a Corner. That's added depth at a position EH was short on last year. Trel Phillips would have been the best defensive lineman EH had last year. Sands and DeAndre Black missed nearly the whole season in 2013. That's more depth at a position EH was short on last year. He probably would have seen time on the O-line too. Gage Upshaw would have been All-State at WR last year for EH. 6'2-3, 215. Can run and jump. Pretty physical kid too from what I've seen. Put those cats on the same team as Herndon, Moore, Lenoir, Francois, Morgan, Gatewood, Parker, and Milita. That's a deep, experienced, athletic, physically talented team.
  16. Don't forget Gage Upshaw. The good player you're thinking of transferred to Ringgold, not Ridgeland. Shaun Anderson. Rushed for 1,300+ and 15 TD's at Ringgold in 2012 the year after he transferred from EH. The kid was a rolling ball of butcher knives. East Hamilton has probably lost more good athletes to Baylor and McCallie than any school in Hamilton County and EH has still made it to the quarterfinals in two classifications (4A & 5A) over the last two years. I totally agree with you. Put those kids back on the last two East Hamilton teams and I think you're looking at 2 state championships for EH.
  17. Show me where I said how great they were. McCallie won a state championship in 2000. In Knoxville, you only have a few private schools. What part of that don't you understand? That's why Knoxville private schools are good. Who cares if YOU were impressed about a SCRIMMAGE? YOUR team hasn't had a winning season in like 10 years. YOU are unimpressed weekly with what you see on the field. I'd bet Baylor and McCallie could play with Maryville and Alcoa. McCallie only lost by 14 to Ensworth in 2013. Baylor lost by 7 to Ensworth in 2013. Do you think Maryville and Alcoa could manage that?
  18. You're not understanding. There aren't just "a few" private schools in Chattanooga. And it isn't happening in Knoxville the same way it happens in Chattanooga. Several here have already explained that. We have our Webb's, CAK's, and Catholic's. We just have 2 more DII-AA schools that you don't have. Those are two schools with 4A enrollment that can give full scholarships to any athlete they want; not to mention they recruit kids relentlessly from one end of the county to the other. By the way, it's $20k+ per year to go to Baylor or McCallie. Google pictures of their campuses and facilities, then tell me "that happens everywhere". There is no comparison between Chattanooga and Knoxville in that regard. Answer this question: If Ensworth and MBA were in Knoxville with those other private schools you mentioned, do you think the talent pool would be even more diluted? You really have no clue what you're talking about.
  19. A 2A school with how many D1/D2 athletes? McCallie's high school enrollment is 660. Alcoa's is around 480. You're acting like McCallie has 6A-level enrollment. Who cares if you saw the game? No one said Baylor and McCallie were world-beaters. They dilute the talent pool. That's been the point all along. The fact that McCallie was right there with Alcoa says a lot about the players they get. You obviously think Alcoa and Maryville are world-beaters. I guess the team that plays them to a 10 and 3 point game are scrubs, right? Get real, dude.
  20. They lost by 3 points. That same McCallie team beat Riverdale that year (2006). You don't know what you're talking about, broseph.
  21. Webb is in the lower D2 classification. Both Baylor and McCallie are in the higher D2 classification, not to mention McCallie is an all-boys school. Notre Dame is just as big as Knox Catholic and they don't get anywhere near the recruits/athletes as Baylor and McCallie. CAK is roughly equivalent to Chattanooga Christian and they aren't pulling in recruits either. You don't know what you're talking about when it comes to private schools. Chattanooga has Knoxville beaten going away. Here's a quick list of the private schools in Chattanooga: Boyd Buchanan - 2A Silverdale -2A Chattanooga Grace - 1A Chattanooga Christian - 3A Notre Dame - 3A (was 4A last year) McCallie - DII-AA Baylor - DII-AA Knoxville has a few similar private schools, but they don't have those two big boys at the top. Every good athlete in Chattanooga goes through the Baylor/McCallie bottleneck. Those two schools take 1/3 of the good athletes in the area regardless of zone. Add Boyd-Buchanan and Notre Dame to the mix and you're look at 1/2.
  22. I can answer this for you. Binder played at Ooltewah and graduated this year. From what I hear, he will not be playing football. His brother plays baseball at Troy. Hunter Moore signed with Central Arkansas this year. He played QB at East Hamilton. Threw for over 3,300 yards this year.
  23. I guess PsychopathAggressive wants Maryville to play UT or Alabama because they pretty much play everyone else worth a darn in Middle to East TN. He's just talking out of his backside. None of his trash talk makes a lick of sense.
