You're blaming the tie on the TSSAA?...I agree that there is a difference in a strong dual and a strong tournament team, but the other tournament that both Baylor and FR competed in this year ended with Baylor finishing 3 places ahead of FR. Seems that FR had a good day on Saturday. I think everyone was expecting Baylor to run away with this one. Congrats to both State Championship teams.

Although he wasn't tested much this year, Manson is tough as nails. His discipline allows him to train harder than anyone around. Also, it doesn't tougher than his style of wrestling. He is mean.

If Bundy did "overlook" Usary, as was said by someone else, then he is, indeed, arrogant, and like I said earlier, it cost him a state title.

I totally agree. If he "overlooked" Usary, then, either, his coach didn't do his job to prepare his athlete mentally or Bundy's arrogant attitude cost him a state title. That is great that he used this loss to motivate him to become better, but downplaying an opponent that defeated him to win a state title is low. That day the better man won.

I agree. A coach should want what is best for his individual wrestlers, and the best education possible is what is best for kids. You can't blame parents or kids for wanting that. Whats wrong with using wrestling ability as a vehicle to provide a first class educational opportunity?

D-I is, undoubtedly, deeper than the D-II, but statistically, it should be. There are much more wrestlers in D-I than in D-II. However, the top two and, sometimes, top three wrestlers in D-I are often, not always, higher quality than the top two or three wrestlers in D-I, and in case yall haven't noticed, qualifying for the D-I state tournament is not that difficult and not something to brag about like it is in other states. The kids that don't qualify for the D-I state tournament would go 0-2 in the D-II state tournament.

What happened to Will Young @ 135. I thought that the 140 bump was just a state dual and dual match strategy. Both options haven't proven to well for him.

I wouldn't be too quick with that...The season record between these two is still in Still's favor with one of the wins coming from a perfectly executed turkey bar to a pin. Not to take anything away from Green, he won one far and square, but that gives yall no right to get on here and act like he is god's gift to the heavyweight weight class. He has definitely done his fare share of losing this year, and yall can't deny that he spends a good amount of time on skates.

State seeds, Pride, gaining the mental advantage on Hussein for future matches, etc... If you can't get up for the Baylor vs. McCallie wrestling match, how do you get up for others? Although, given his situation, motivation for the team was not there, but in a match of this magnitude, it should be easy to find alternative motivation.

Manson will be the first to tell you that the Science Hill kid wrestled a great match (although he was not up most of the match), but this is about Will Young. Young is a good wrestler and athlete, but not on the level of Manson. And about him being unbeatable, he was last year in the state of TN, and so far, is this year again. We will see how the rest of the year goes. Lets just hope Connell's genius, struggled over strategy to upset Baylor, has Young wrestling 135.

Manson beat Young a lot worse than showed in the score at the McCallie Invitational. Young was on his skates the whole match, just trying to hang on and maybe catch Manson to win it.... Manson majors him this weekend.

This is not right. Bundy is a good wrestler and has made big improvements, but Manson was incredible last year and has greatly improved on top of that. He is untouchable this year.

Shane Turner has the most up-to-date and solid technique of any coach in the state, and noone can doubt his intensity. He gets my vote.

Legman, I am talking about within TN. If you lose to teams in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Deleware, etc., etc., you won't lose your place on top of the TN D-I state rankings. If you lose to Baylor or McCallie, than all of D-I is seen as inferior to D-II, seeing as yall have been the best D-I team for a while.

He is defending Notre Dame because he did the exact same thing. Bradley had great teams, but they only competed in there compfortable division, where they knew they could win. And if you want to bring Okla. State into the picture. They wrestle many teams outside of their division. Lehigh, Iowa, Iowa State, etc. And the Red team does drive to wrestle the best teams in GA, AL, and even LA. Bradley goes to the Virginia Duals every year. Seems to me that your theory doesn't have much support. I can keep going.

I aree. Fuller is wrestling well, and noone has worked harder this summer than he and Manson in that hot Soddy gymn. Fuller is going to have a great season this year and will definently be in the chase for OW.

No, legman, I am just talking about Notre Dame. Many people, not just me, are asking the same question: Why is Notre Dame not dualing Baylor and McCallie? Once again, including you, legman, noone has provided a logical answer to this question. And since Spyder is such a successful wrestler and doctor than he would be the first to know that strong competition only makes you better. Correct me if I am wrong Dr. Spyder and legman, but I am pretty sure that this is a known fact.
