  1. The Alcoa scrimmage was slightly one sided with the weight advantage going to Alcoa. Alcoa's 260 lbs lineman vs 180 lbs-DL and 165 lbs LB/DB was no contest. Alcoa's defense has its work cut out for them. Alcoa had a couple of good sized lineman and Mclurg #18 at QB showed some good athleticism. A new RB #1 (shifty and quick) will ease the load for #2. Morristown had 1 player at RB who looked good and took the bulk of the carries. With the size and talent back this year for Maryville, I expect a similar outcome as last year's Rebel vs. Alcoa game.
  2. Do we have a name or video of this QB yet?
  3. A couple of boys have had some great performances in the Nike and Rivals Camps. Jaylen Burgess finished with a SPARQ rating of 118.44 which landed him in 17th place nationally. That is amazing, considering he is going up against 4*-5* athletes. Richie Koons performed extremely well at an open Nike event and earned an invitation to the Atlanta SPARQ camp. The Atlanta camp had over 20+ rated defensive lineman in the SE. Richie showed great strength and agility in the 1 on 1 competition and beat Dallas Warmack a 4* OL committed to Alabama both times he faced him. Another note, some of the boys are making big gains in the weight room compliments of Coach Waters. I've heard several boys have benched 350+ and squatted 500+ along with some impressive 40 times. Watch out for Ethan Dudley, T.D Blackman, Matt Young, Bryce Miller and Tyler Vaught.
  4. I am sad for the coaches and players on both teams. No one wants a win with a controversial call. WH played a great game and capitalized on our turnovers. We allowed the game to be close which let Mr. Opportunity present himself and have a major impact in these two great programs. The only thing that would have changed is the play calling on WH side. The true outcome will never be known. Nothing will be done except an investigation in the video of the UMP and his actions before, during and after the play. This will be no different than the Seahawks vs. Packers controversial TD to end their game. I have heard before how bad the WH fans are, Well My experience was completely different with the WH fans me and my family ran into before and after the game. I look forward to seeing these two great programs meet for many years to come. Rebels, you all played your hearts out and I was proud to be part of it. I know you can't change the outcome of the game but you can change the outcome in the future. Use this experience to learn and grow. You all have the most respected leader and coaching staff in the state. You acted the way you have been taught, exceptional and professional young men with your heads held high. Thank You. Proud to be a REBEL!!
  5. Play #159 Hudl. Look at both angles in slow motion. Watch which direction the Ump was looking and when u see his right hand reaching for his flag. U be your own judge. I know what I saw.
  6. I can only speak of what I have seen like the rest of us. Swafford from DB is the top RB the Rebels have seen all year. Stockstill from Siegel best Arm I've seen at this level. He is Amazing even with a torn ACL.
  7. Maryville Rebels, My family and I are proud to be part of this unbelievable tradition. What the coaches, players and fans do on the field is amazing and what you do off the field in developing these young respectable young men is incredible. As we all saw a wicked offensive battle we also witnessed the discouraged and bruised REBEL Defense Rally themselves with their backs against the wall and DIG DOWN DEEP on 3 consecutive drives to stop one of the best QB's I've seen in a long time. Thanks to the Great players, coaches and Fans in Rebel Land.
  8. PHargis, I stand corrected thinking your QB wasn't going to be able to play, what a leader, captain, Mr. Football and one of the gutsiest players I have seen in a very long time. I will Follow this Boy and his career. It was a great game and Siegel has earned major respect. Great job to two great programs. One of the best games I have ever watched.
  9. First, Let's all say a prayer for an all out battle and player's safety on Thursday Night at your Thanksgiving Day Feast. I have to disagree with the thinking a team that loses their Mr. Football QB will still play at the same level without him. I admire his effort to want to play but we all know a team loses more than just a talented athlete, you lose an all important on the field Captain, motivator and Leader which is not replaceable. Have a Great Turkey-Day!! Go Rebels!!
  10. I want to give respect where respect is due, GQ and his coaching staff. What an awesome Game plan. It was executed to near perfection. You needed a plan to contain #6 and #8 and that's what you did. Besides the long TD pass no huge plays given up to the two speed demons. #6 and #8 are outstanding players but it takes more than two great players to beat a good TEAM. GR, it was a pleasure hanging with you and the other early Tailgaters. Many prayers for your boy and his speedy recovery.
