  1. I predict Grainger will win. OK so I predict after the game. haha. Was a good game. Tough pitching and too many errors from Greeneville. I think Greeneville can win 2 tomorrow. I think Bowman pitches the first game and then the team pitches game 2, maybe Idell. I think Greeneville will out hit them. Should be a good day to be at the ballpark. Umpiring was a little flaky last night. I seen no reason to eject the Grainger player on minimal contact. Umpire took a kid out of post season for two or three games in conflict with the rule.
  2. CD beat Gap last night and created a three way tie in the district. I understand that based on their preset tie breaker the league will finish 1. Grainger 2. CD 3. Greeneville 4. West Greene 5. Cumberland Gap 6. Claiborne So May 1 should be Greeneville vs. Claiborne with the winner playing Chuckey Doak and West Greene vs. Gap with the winner playing Grainger. Good luck to all the teams.
  3. Didn't know they were rating No 1's for next year.........
  4. I'm guessing that's HV's 3rd, 4th or 5th pitcher because they have 2 D1 recruits that are SR's.
  5. Well, not much decided in the Greeneville two game series with Grainger. Greeneville won last night 1-0 on one unearned run and good pitching on both sides. Greeneville loses tonight 6-3 with Bowman on the mound. Gave up 10 hits but only 2 earned runs. Looks like whoever makes the routine plays between these 2 teams will win in the future.
  6. Yeah, tomorrow will tell a lot about the district. I'm going to that game. I expect a competitive game from these two. I wish it wasn't so early in the season with them both missing games due to weather.
  7. I agree, but you sure aren't trying to throw like the girls basketball teams were doing. You are using 3 and 4 pitcher , or maybe 5. Most teams aren't lucky enough to have 5 that can throw strikes..
  8. Guess this is a one man post, haha. Where are Greeneville area baseball fans ? Greeneville over Claiborne CDoak over C Gap Grainger over West Greene No surprises really, but the CD/Gap game was closer than I thought it would be. Not sure what the means, is Gap better this year? New coach. Or did CD lose a lot. I seen Bowman had a no hitter and 7 K's against Claiborne, Barkley beat Gap, and Bates had 10 K's against West Greene. Early in the year so I didn't expect much hitting. Greeneville/Grainger coming up Monday and Tuesday so we'll know who the front runner will be soon.
  9. The debate is on about public vs. private. I think 'open enrollment', 'magnet' and 'private' should all have their own division separate from public. Greeneville, Austin East and Fulton aren't much different.
  10. I'm not even sure the pitchers will fare well. There's a lot of difference in throwing mounds and flat grounds vs. live batters. I think it will be ugly overall. Walks and small ball may be the way to win in the first couple of weeks. And the weather forecast for this week is terrible. Lord, we are thankful for not living in a drought area, but could you please send some of this water to them.
  11. Opening day rain.........ENOUGH ALREADY.
  12. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. There's nothing I've seen more obnoxious than Etown fans. I watched them scream at kids on the court to go home in a boys game in regionals when they were up 30 (I had no dog in the fight). After all the sheep escaped town all they had left was girls basketball and they've directed their pent up frustration at fans from other teams. What comes around generally goes around. I feel sorry for what appears to be a good group of girls to have fans that lack sportsmanship or respect for other teams. You want to see them lose only because of their nasty obnoxious fans. Good luck to anyone who plays them.
  13. Don't want to rain on any parades but there will be no good opening games, or at least not any that really mean anything due to the fact a lot of these kids haven't even been on a baseball field. I'm thinking it will be a couple of ugly weeks of baseball -----IF the weather is good.
  14. I'm not sure I understand trying to lose the Wed regional game. If you lose, you are probably going to play the number 1 from the other region and face their ace. If a team makes it that far, either of the teams they play on Friday will have a good ace. And since they play at the same time from both districts, you don't know what the other teams results. Only 2 teams make it out of district around here to get to regions.
  15. West Greene and Chuckey Doak both lost primary pitching so I don't know if they have younger guys to step in. Claiborne and Cumberland Gap are both trying to rebuild programs. I'm not sure what either will have returning. I think the district will come down to Grainger and Greeneville hands down. I'm not sure what either team will have for District 1 though in regionals.
  16. Hardin Valley choked last year and didn't make it out of the district. I think they are on a mission. Sevier Co will have a good team, but not sure how deep in pitching. Farragut is Farragut and will be there in the end. I think the State Champ will come from East Tennessee. AA- again I think the State Champ comes from East Tennessee. CAK , Catholic could both be back. Not many loses on either team. I don't know much about A
  17. Does anyone know who all made the regional tournament team?
  18. Patterson and Bowman are back and I think Hartness. Always good to have the battery back. BRAC network posted a pre-season all conference team for whatever it's worth. The 2015 BRAC Network All-BRAC Preseason Baseball team. Pitchers - Trey Cabbage, Grainger Lincoln Bowman, Greeneville Catcher - Drew Patterson, Greeneville 1st Base - Aaron Faulkner, Claiborne 2nd Base - Hunter Bayless, Cumberland Gap Short Stop - Braxton Potter, West Greene 3rd Base - Tanner Barkley, Chuckey Doak Outfielders - Joseph Jones, West Greene Corey Bates, Grainger Brantley Darnell, Chuckey Doak The 2015 All-BRAC Preseason Baseball Team is based on returning players and positions from 2014. Congratulations to all and please everyone pass this around and share. Plus remember the season starts right here March 9th on the BRAC Network.
  19. Almost a week of practice in the books. Who are the teams to beat in the BRAC? Greeneville and Grainger again this year? I know Greeneville lost some good players but had some young talent. Seems I remember that Grainger wasn't losing anyone unless they transferred or quit.
  20. Is the BRAC Greeneville's this year? I haven't seen much about them on here. Are Unicoi/East better than Greeneville or Grainger?
  21. I will say it and print and eat the words if necessary. Greeneville don't even belong on the same field as Fulton this year. Fulton is that good. I've seen them play twice and Greeneville play twice. And the 'open enrollment' has to be mentioned. Greeneville should be forced to play as a 5A or 6A team with that. Not only do they get the best football players from 4 other schools, they recruit from other counties.......hmmmm running back. But it should be mentioned that Fulton is a magnet school and they can draw students across boundaries in the city of Knoxville which basically makes them open enrollment as well.
  22. LOL, that could be true. As many times as Fulton will run through the endzone the ground may become unstable. (just funin with you)
  23. Funny, bobcat fan says they own Broadway. Good luck bobcats. The only victory will be if you can keep the final score within 21 points. You own Broadway? After Friday, the Falcons will own you so what's yours is theirs, LOL. Seriously, I wish you guys could compete, but you won't this year. Fulton by at least 35.
  24. The ONLY part I understand is their comment that a lot of players quit football because they are on really bad teams. You want to keep kids involved so they keep learning and developing toward high school. Then again, what difference does it make if you lose by 35 or 50.
