Greeneville will be real strong on defense once again and they can flat out fly. They will return 8 starters on defense. On offense they return 4 starters on the OL with four more who played a lot. The line should average 260 or better. They return two starting WR and the # 2 and 3 RB from this years team. The big question is who will be the QB. Finchum and Wright are Hugh losses.

I know it kills you Waco but those Greene Devils do unlike your mighty Indians they are a state power in their division

Thanks and good luck to Betsy as well. Great win over South. One advantage Betsy has is that they have had a couple of close games. We really haven't been challenged and when it does hopefully we respond. When you haven't faced adversity and then it finally happens it will test your character. East TN is no doubt well represented with three quality teams from our area.

I am a big Greene devil fan and your showing a lot of class and a great attitude. I'm sure you felt just as strong in your feelings about a certain player #15 we had last year that would throw some questionable late hits and dirty plays as you do this kid from Signal who was definitely in the wrong.

as of today Pearl Cohn and Greeneville has six opponents each with records of at least 500 and the combined win/loss totals for Pearl is 37-38 and Greeneville 35-36 and your bragging about your schedule and blasting ours. South who is rated 3rd only has 2 teams on the schedule at 500 with a combined record of 31-41

Just repeating what was said in the Knoxville news sentinel in a story about him.

Greeneville scrimmaged SH,DB,TH and Mo East and dominated all four. Obviously you didnt pay attention to us having Science Hill down 34-0 at the half in a game type scrimmage zero week and you know for sure Carter didnt come to lose.Jeff County would easily beat non conference people like Cherokee, Gate City and wore TN High out last year. We also are playing a little team called Signal Mnt.Also by the way we tried to schedule your cyclones and south this year to no avail. I will give it up for South though they did try the weeks just wouldn't work out. Kinda like a couple of years ago when Betsy dropped us to play those extremely strong Carolina teams.

There are two D1 running backs in East Tn this year. The young man from Betsy and the other at Jeff County. Greeneville held the one from Jeff to 23 yes in 16 carries. I'm not saying they will do that with Mr. Thomas as I firmly believe he is the best back. What I am saying is he won't rush for no 250 yes as he has done against teams so far. He will not out run them as he has other teams and his yards that he gets all will be tough yards. This leads me to the question how good is Betsy at throwing the ball. They will have to throw the football some against both South and Greeneville to have a chance to win.The reason I say lthis is its hard for a predominately running team to play catch up especially if they fall behind a couple of scores.I feel the non conference schedule for Betsy is stronger than South and should help them in their match up. By playoff time Greeneville will have played teams very similar to both South and Betsy. The only team that they play similar to Greeneville is possibly SH and overall Greeneville is much quicker than SH.

I am Abigail Greene Devil fan but I have to disagree a little. Signal Mnt will give us a test as well as either South or Betsy depending on who we play. All 3 of those teams have some very good athletes and are well coached. All 3 are ranked right behind us. The reason I say this is I hope our kids stay focused one game at a time. Remember our vols were looking past LSU one year to go to national championship game and got beat in SEC championship.

you got beat by a team we had down 34 in a half in a game type scrimmage zero week. Just ask Mr. Carter he will tell you all about it. Don't even start it was a scrimmage you know how Carter is its always about winning no matter what.

Dont act like Fulton doesn't get any players from outside their zone. Just a couple years back you had the nephew of your AD Mr. Wright coming all the way from Clinton to play basketball for him. I'm sure if people did the research some of this Fulton team moved into this zone at one point and who could blame them. They have good coaches, nice facilities and great community support. No doubt Greeneville has been the benefactor of this along with Maryville, Alcoa, DB, Giles Co and more.

How big of a drop off will Fulton have after this year. I know they have 22 or 23 seniors. Most of them have started for the last 3 years or so I think. I'm sure they will still be athletic but no way they can have as much talent as this year surely.

i agree but the guy leading your program who stood on the sideline and didn't do anything to control his players or deal with it is still the head man.

Now young man no your role Tennessee Tech is 1AA not Division 1 and you are correct on Terell but Tirus walked on just like Mr. Boles just down the rd. You are the one who brought up gardes and ACT scores. As I said I'm a big Devil fan built I'm not going to get on here and bash other teams or be unrealistic about our talent. We have 2 kids on this years team who may get the chance to play D1 and a few others who may get the chance at D2 or NAIA. I only, hope that the ones that do will stay with it because the majority of the ones who have in the last few years have quit playing including Wright at Army. Unfortunately coaches look at that and question if a kid comes from a program that produces kids that quit will the one their looking at stay.

Im a Greeneville fan and I can say this. How could you even make a stupid comment like that. Its not like we have had boat loads of D1 players playing here in the last 5 years matter of fact only 1 Rob Wright at Army. We have had one other who could have but as you stated they didn't have the GPA or the ACT. We also have had some who would have gotten better offers if their grades were better but ended up playing a lower level and unfortunately a bunch of those didn't last which by the way makes us look bad.. Fulton has 6 kids getting legit D1 looks not just a bunch of fans and mommas and daddy's saying they are. We have never had that. In 2010 and 2011 we wore them out both years and we were a upper classman loaded team while they were young. Now the roles are reversed last year they handed it to us and this year they have 22 seniors while we have 13 or 14. Next year they will be young again and we will have a heavy load of upper classman. For years Greeneville played up against the big schools if for the last 25 years they would have played were they should have they would have won another state title or two like Fulton has. These are two of the best programs in the state and some of these fans from both teams need to get some class and show some respect towards the other as well as some of the other quality programs such as Giles, Maplewood, South, Knox Catholic and Elizabethton who all are worthy opponents. I wish Fulton well and congrats to your athletes and hope they stay healthy and have a great year. I want to wish my Greene Devils all the same and hope that we get the chance to play Fulton. Remember over the past 10 years their were teams who had better athletes than Maryville had but they didn't win. Thats why you play the game.

Quad 1 is loaded. 5 of the top 8 teams are in this bracket and could be 6 if Signal Mnt gets shipped East like some other teams in that area have in the past. This definately wouldn't suprise me by the TSSAA. Fulton is the heavy favorite and rightfully so no doubt. Whoever wins this quad should win the state but thats why they play the games.

And West Greene coaches are. Numerous times when the game was over Case kept Dalton Boles in the game to pad his stats and that's showing class. Give me a break at least Ballard plays his 2nd and 3rd teams not his feature back in blowouts.

They better work it out a lot quicker than the they did against Greeneville last week who smoked them or Betsy will take it to them. They need to let the QB just take it and run because they have no passing game.

I'm with Greeneville and we have already scrimmaged DB and TN High with Science Hill coming next week. So far the Vikings were far better than the Tribe at this stage. I look forward to seeing the Toppers.

I agree they may start off slow but they will get it rolling at the end.

Do you think it could be a possible loss at Greeneville? They lowered the boom on 6A Dobyns Bennett 31-7 a team who got beat by Maryville last year in 3rd rd yesterday in a scrimmage yesterday. That will be a great game Murphy Fair has Greeneville ranked #2 and Signal #3 preseason.

Who do you think they will lose to in the season?

You guys miss a couple of players that are hurt. The def lineman and LB will help your defense for sure and the FB will help the offense. Pass defense for you was a little suspect but like you said two of those guys are at UT. You did run the ball well at times but have some work to do on passing. DB is a class program and is a measuring stick in East Tn and will continue to be. Good luck to your team and I hope your kids stay healthy.

Greeneville played pretty good tonight and continued it for the whole scrimmage. DB is obviously down from last year but still has a solid program so tonight was a plus for the devils. I heard the coaches talking that they would still like to see the team play with a little more emotion and attitude. Overall good job and let's keep working.
