Is this topic still about the best teams in East TN? Anyone have a change of heart after district tournaments? I'll go with this: 1. Morristown West 2. Elizabethton 3. South Greene 4. McMinn Central 5. William Blount 6. Bearden 7. Bradley Central 8. Hardin Valley 9. Union County 10. Gatinburg Pittman

Sadly the Elizabethton program as a whole will never be punished for Coach Dugger's cheating for most of his career. He will resign after the state tournament (which would have happened anyways because all of his talent will be gone) and this will all be water under the bridge. Next topic...

No, they put them on probation for cheating. They violated TSSAA rules, their principal confirmed. That IS worthy of reporting.

Maybe people question the character of your coach because he's a cheater? Just a thought. Wonder what the sanctions will be? Not enough, I'm sure.

That is not true. The point guard is Haris Price. The young lady you're referring too was not eligible this year.

What is the TSSAA rule on player ejection? If a player gets ejected in a Region Quarterfinal are they suspended for both the Region Semis and Region Finals?

Great post. I agree completely. Teams that are ready and willing to play should not be penalized because of Knox County. Should those athletes at Knox County? Absolutely not, but sometimes others are punished when administrators make poor decisions. This has also affected the Farragut district in Knoxville where the Blount County teams have been in a holding pattern waiting on the Knox superintendent. I guess that's region 2-AAA?

Haris Price at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School should be heavily considered for AA Miss Basketball. She is easily one of the top point guards in the state. The heavily recruited senior is averaging the following: 18 points per game 6.9 assists per game 4.1 rebound per game 5.8 steals per game According to MPreps website (I know all teams don't report), she is the 8th leading scorer listed, leads in assists, right in front of UCONN signee Crystal Dangerfield, and leads in steals in the state.

Thought Hooper looked a little out of shape. Impressive for first game back if true. GP's sophomore that came off bench and blocked Hooper a few times and had a couple more was in her second game back from a torn labrum. Would like to see both at full strength. May be hard to get there for both this year.

Smith actually only lost to Dickson by 4. I apologize. Did lose to a Hardin Valley team Gatlinburg Pittman beat 13. Just some observations. Area of state means a lot more than common opponents apparently. Is what it is.

Not sure what the justification could be to have Gatlinburg-Pittman below Smith County on this or AP poll or any other poll. Gatlinburg lead a Dickson County team that beat Smith County by double digits by 30 in the first half of a Dickson County (#5 ranked AAA team in the state) loss which is their only of the year. Obviously the justification is being from middle Tennessee, but doesn't add up!

GP beat Fulton by 22 last night. Will get their 6'4 sophomore back soon to compliment the 6'3 freshman and Luczak.

So now that everyone has played pretty much everyone in their district, what two teams will represent 3AA and 4AA in substate this year?

I really think Elizabethon should be higher on this list. I think they could compete at the AAA state tourney this year for a title, much less AA. Hard to believe all of those Kentucky teams are better than them, but I could be wrong!

From what I understand, the GP girls gave Hannah a card and large sum of money on Saturday, very nice gesture from Coach Parton and her program. Kudos.
